  1. Thank you for your honest sharing. It will help many here. It's a struggle and so much of our eating problems are emotional and mental health related (boredom, stress, anxiety, depression, worry) that counseling really helps.
  2. I wear full size briefs and the only ones that seem to fit me correctly at Cacique brand, which I buy at Lane Bryant.
  3. My surgeon submitted dates for October or November to get the approval, but her schedule wasn't available until December, so once they got approval they just adjusted the dates to fit the surgeon's scheduled surgery.
  4. That's only natural when you eat cruciferous vegetables.
  5. Walk it off. You still have air/anesthesia in you. It'll pass . . . literally. ? This isn't a permanent thing.
  6. That's an interesting question. I had never thought about there being more bariatric sites out there. This one was listed in the literature as helpful resources at my surgeon's office, so that's how I found out about it.
  7. Somebody else in the last two weeks called it "sleeve blush" and said her surgeon's office told her it was semi-common. I had never heard of it before. I don't think it's anything to worry about, probably just annoying, but you can check with your doctor tomorrow for sure. I never had it.
  8. That's a wonderful NSV! I was so glad to get out of XXL and XL.
  9. They last approximately on average two weeks. Sometimes you can break a longer one by mixing it up with higher calories/lower calories/fasting to shock your body but at this stage you should just wait yours out. They're inevitable.
  10. On a similar subject, I used to be low in Vitamin D and post WLS they had me taking a Vit D supplement plus a multivitamin and a couple of other supplements. Fast forward two years later and I an super high in Vitamin D and my primary wants me to stop taking all vitamins and supplements for six months to see if it's them or me.
  11. I've never been on a site with a shopping algorhythym or one that thinks its knows my size. What if you were buying something for someone else? It should give you freedom of choice. That's weird.
  12. sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free jello, gatorade zero, crystal light in water, chicken noodle soup broth (no noodles)
  13. My husband takes 2 10mg melatonin every night.
  14. It's only been 12 days. 10 pounds in 12 days is GREAT! What were you expecting? You're not feeling hungry, and that was the whole point, so that's a good thing. Give yourself time to adjust.
  15. Throw it out, like Neller said, you already paid for it, so the money's already spent and you don't need it tempting you. I remember giving some away to family and friends just by saying, "I've started a diet and don't want this in the house anymore and thought you could use it."
  16. It's definitely the BREAD! I can't eat an Arby's sandwich or really ANY sandwich anymore. I just eat the meat or insides and throw away the bun. It "sticks" or something and I get what we call here in the forums "the foamies" where you throw up mucus (not food) and you feel totally full and choking. Your body is trying to tell you that you can't eat that food anymore.
  17. Welcome to the forums. This is the best decision you could have made and you have a wonderful healthier life to look forward to. I like your name. Mine is very similar (Rehmet). Good luck on your WLS journey and keep us posted with your progress.
  18. Yours is less than a week away now. How are you doing on the pre-op diet? Good luck on your WLS journey and keep us posted with your progress.
  19. Yours is just a couple of days away now. How are you doing on the pre-op diet? Good luck on your WLS journey and keep us posted with your progress.
  20. That's GREAT! Good luck on your WLS journey and keep us posted with your progress.
  21. Yours is less than a week away now. How are you doing on the pre-op diet? Good luck on your WLS journey and keep us posted with your progress.
  22. That sounds like an awfully long time to only be able to eat that amount. Have you talked to your doctor? Certain foods will disagree with your new pouch (I still can't eat steak or potatoes or pasta) but you should be able to eat more than a couple of bites at this point.
  23. I only needed about a week's recovery time in terms of energy and ability to go back to work from home teaching online (I was a professor) but every body is different, so use your best judgment for you. I don't think you'll need the whole summer but you might like that time frame better. Good luck on your WLS journey.
  24. Oh goodness, you're in a difficult situation. How do you put up with his negativity? I'm so sorry you're going through this. So as to the surgery, it's just a tool. Having surgery doesn't make you weak and obviously if you could have done it on your own, you would have, but you need this tool, like the rest of us here do, millions of us around the world. Obesity is real and a b***h, if you'll pardon my language. But you're very strong for realizing that you need to do something about it and you'll put in a lot of hard work after WLS to keep the weight off and follow the program, so don't let him make you feel that it's the weak way out. Talk to your counselor at the surgeon's office, there should be one provided with your program, and tell them about your lack of support so they can assist you. We're here in these forums to support and encourage you as well. Do what's best for YOU!
  25. The soft food stage does by really quickly, so don't sweat it too much. Didn't your doctor's office give you a list? Mine gave me a whole binder of what to eat when through each stage, etc. Basically it's cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, protein shakes, yogurt, soup, jello, sugar-free pudding, and things like that.
