  1. Just wondering if any of you developed dry eye and irritation after surgery? Not sure if it’s related at all. But mine have become truly bothersome. Just wondering.
  2. Oh hey, you're in Virginia too! We're only two days apart for our surgery! What doctor did you go through? I will say that out of all of my incisions, the one where they took the stomach out is definitely the last to close up and is still kind of healing. Dr Stokes @ Martha Jefferson In Charlottesville did mine. All went great. I may be the cause of the slow healing. I’ve been super active. I’m 41lbs down. So I won’t complain about the slowness. One thing I’m noticing though, my eyes have become extremely dry in the last week. Not sure if it’s related at all.
  3. I’m just about 4 weeks out and that same incision you speak of is opening back up for me. I go to doc on Tue. Will see what they have to say about it. I have no pain, but it just don’t want to close. Scan came and went and now, opening. Good luck with yours.
  4. 82lbs down in all, 38lbs down since sleeve. 12-10-18 Started at 457 now 375. A good ways to go, but I can see and feel the difference!! Good luck to you all!! Clasik
  5. It will get better. I was the same way at the same point. Now I’m drinking liquids normally. Make sure you walk as much as you can. It helps nearly everything. Good luck.
  6. I have one more week of Blended/Puréed. Can’t wait to chew my food!! Lol. 3 weeks in. I have to be cleared for soft foods. Find out on the 8th.
  7. Difference. Your phase 2 is one week. Mine is two.??‍♂️. I want to chew something dang it.
  8. I kept it secret in the beginning. I’m only 21 days post op, but have lost 38lbs since surgery. I’ve been asked several times was I sick or something. So!! I just let it be known. 38lbs since Dec 10th and nearly 80lbs since taking this route back in June. Was getting too many questions. Definitely to each his/her own. Nobody’s business for real.
  9. What’s good Drop The Beat!!! Lol fitting being, I’m a DJ. I’m doing great!! Getting these lbs off!! How’s it goin with you??
  10. Mine ends on the 7th, though I have to see my surgeon again on the 8th before cleared for soft food phase which is two weeks long, I think!! As there is no timeline for that phase. So I’m assuming until cleared for solids. Good luck!!
  11. As I continue on in my post op phases, it’s crazy to me how different the plans are for the phases. Like I’m day 19 post op and doing the blended purée phase that lasts two weeks. I see some folks, same timeline, already on to soft foods. Some things that folks are allowed to eat, I’m told to never eat again. I figured there would be more standardization in this. Boy was I wrong!!
  12. I’m 19 days post op and hit 30lbs down this morning. Getting a lil spring in my step!! Loving the results so far. Have a great weekend all!!
  13. Pre surgery I was drinking close to 2 gallons a day. I’m 18 days post op and can now get in around 80-128 oz a day. But the first week after surgery I had to sip sip sip. The second week got better, and here I am in my third week and I can easily drink a cup of water on down. Take your time. And follow your plan. You’ll be fine.
  14. I’m doing great. Had my 2 week post op visit yesterday and everything is all good. Went to the gym this morning and I’m feeling great. How is it going for you? I know the liquids are no fun! I Just moved to blended/purées for the next two weeks. Can’t be over soon enough. Lol.
  15. Definitely getting there!!! Had my first post op appt this morning and all is great. Have lost 32lbs 16 days in. So I’m not complaining!! Cleared to hit the gym and that’s exactly what I did today and it felt great. Thanks!!!
  16. Also, check out some of the protein waters. They help get in protein as well. Without the powder. Some decent flavored protein water out there.
  17. I’m 16 days post op and I don’t think I give myself a chance to get hungry. I stay drinking water and knocking down protein. I just started blended/puréed and can’t even eat a quarter to half cup before feeling like I’m going to burst. Not sure if it’s all the liquids I drink or what, but I have to force myself to eat. Only time I want food is when I’m smelling something scrumptious!! I started drinking Protein Water as soon as I got out of the hospital. May be the difference. Not sure how I’ll handle hunger!! Good luck!!
  18. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas!! While we can’t eat all that good food folks will be having tomorrow, stay strong and stay the course. Send good Vybe’s and Love to you all!! Clasik
  19. I myself am 10 days out and my drinking liquids has gotten faster as well. But I have to force myself. I get full fast!! And stay that way. Good luck on the journey.
  20. I was having that same thing early on. I took antacids and it went away. Likely gas. Hope ya feel better.
  21. Likewise. I had my surgery on the 10th also and I feel I’m doing well. Have lost 17lbs, and I get all my liquids in. I stopped pain med on Wed evening and haven’t had any issues. Have little pains here and there but I’ve been going out and about since Thu. And like you I’m thinking, what’s going to go wrong. Good luck with it all!!
  22. I hear you!! I’m on day 6th. Got home the same day you had your surgery, I still have crazy gurgling and gas. I’ve been moving around a lot and that helps. I came of the meds on the 13th as all i wanted to do was sleep. I walked a mile today and gas levels are certainly better with walking. Good luck and speedy recovery.
