Post op appointment
I would love to do that, but I went and bought a gym membership. And I know thats going to get boring fast. I want to get a new stroller for my daughter, one that is back friendly, like the tri wheel ones. But that cost too much for me right now. Plus generally its too hot out. LOL. I know I can sweat it all out..

Post op appointment
I dont have the realize band, or at least I dont think I do, but my port area incision is about 2 inches long, how long is yours. The only thing I hate about that area is, there are some small over laps in the skip, bulkiness, if you know what I mean. But otherwise its healing well.

Post op appointment
My fisrt one was yesterday, Im now, 2 and a half weeks out, and 26 lbs down. Im so proud of myself, and my doc is so happy. Especially with the way the wounds healed. They are almost invisible. Kinda like it didnt happen. He wants me to walk more, 40 mins a day, I guess I have to find the time in the day to do so. Right after work seems to be the best time, but that means I cant go pick up my daughter from daycare. But thats ok, I have people to help me with that. I guess its just the motivation I need. How do you guys get past all this? DO you just push yourselves to get up and out? How do you do it? I know I can drop more weight if Im very consistant with my exercise routine. But wanted to give the update. YAY. Im happy. Just need advice for exercise!

Indention in port area
Kinda off subject, but, everyone has lost a good bit of weight since they were banded. Man, Ive only lost 22lbs, and are going up and down. I see everyones tickers, and wonder, HOW!!! I know some of you are about 30 days post op. How are you keeping it off? Let me know..

Cant wait until my first fill
Thanks guys! I just find myself, more hungry than normal. Uggh. Just like I was before the band. I mean, I do have a limit, but since the healing process is taking on, My tummy wants food. LOL. And I chew and chew, and still, Im trying to look for the part where I get full. Its not there anymore, it was about a week ago. Just anticipating the day it happens!!! Yay!

Cant wait until my first fill
Ok Im stuck in limbo, with 311lbs at this point, and have been for a week. Although, I havent had the energy as I should to go to the gym every day, but I do make it to the gym at least 3 times a week. I dont do much when I go, maybe a mile on the treadmill. But, thats about it. My diet, is mixed with liquids, and for dinner, a healthy, mushy. But, I do notice, Im not getting as full as I once did about a week ago, Im 2 weeks and a day post op. And today I see the doc. I wonder if I can convince him to do my first fill today. LOL. I doubt that. Im hoping it wont be that bad cause right at the port area, I cant feel a thing. Its like my nerves were severed or something. Anyway, I just had to vent, I want to lose more. UGGH. I guess it will happen in time.

Sleep Study Question
My sleep apnea was diagnosed last year, and the nurses wouldnt tell me anything. Uggh. So I had to wait 2 weeks, they told me I had moderate sleep apnea. So, I know that doesnt help, but, that was my experience. Its was killing me to know the results.

Indention in port area
Ok this is weird, I have an indention right at my port incision. Certain ways I move cause pain. I was banded 2 weeks ago today, and this is the first time I noticed this. It must have happened this morning, or sometime in the night, cause it wasnt there yesterday. So, does anyone know if this is normal, the indention is about the size of a large grape, maybe bigger. When I stand you can see it. When I sit you really cant. Most the fat just buldges out. Do I have a possible flipped port? Please need help. I did call my doc.

I have a problem
I totally agree, cause, you dont want to go all that way, and have something happen on your way back, that wouldnt be good. Travel light. Wear flip flops or sandals if you like them.. something comfortable, cause one, its going to be very hard to put on shoes right after. Well it was for me. Luckily I had my husband there for me. Anyway, I hope this helps.

I have a problem
There will be swelling, I found that stretchy pants, were most comfortable, no jeans, you will be fatigued, and no matter what push yourself to walk, cause you will have gas pain that will kill you... ugggh. Not literally of course. But it will hurt. Gas x or some kind of gas reliever will work just fine. Drink small sips, cause if you dont you'll risk getting gassy, I hope this helps.. AS to everyone else, thank you for your responses, Sometimes you feel as if youre the only one going through this sort of thing. Its really good to know that youre not alone. Tonight, was different for me, when I ate, I felt my restrictions, I guess I will have my days. I just want to throw my scale away now, Im so mad at it. lol. But, no matter what, we are all in this together, and were going to get through it together.

I have a problem
Ok, Ive started to eat, I was banded 2 weeks ago. When I eat its small amounts, I get full a lot faster than I did before. But, Its not long after that Im hungry again. Ugggh. I also feel bloated, and that I have gained weight. this morning I weighed at 311 and now I weighed again it said 315!!! HOW!!!! Water? Im exercising, walking everyday. OK, so last night, I had chinese food. It was chicken, and I chewed and chewed, I eat 1 meal a day, and its a very small meal. Other than that, Im drinking my protein drinks. And water. Anyway, I dont know whats going on, sometimes, I feel like my band isnt there, I feel the port. I can feel that through my skin. But, I feel sometimes either something happened with my band, that maybe it slipped, or my smaller tummy is bigger than what its supposed to be, something feels wrong. I dont hurt, I have no problems eating, and thats the problem. Do I have to wait to my first fill in order to get results? Sorry for the rather confusing thread, but Im worried, Im not doing things right. What do I need to be doing?

Stay away from the band!!
Dont give in to others, there are still great people on here that help others. Dont let them win and leave!!! Its all about opinions here really, and advice... we will always have pranksters.

Stay away from the band!!
Ok, where is the person posting this thread, something sounds very wrong, even with me not having any fills, Ive lost weight. Its part of a diet you follow, and exercise routine. You have to work with the band. This isnt a quick fix. So, I agree, possibly someone just posted something to speak negative things about something they probably dont have. Cause if this were a true thread, they would be active in this thread. Uggh anyway.

I was Banded this past Monday June 16th :)
To be honest, when I went in for surgery I was 316. that night I weighed 313 and so on the next day, but I seem to be teetering right in that range for the past week. So, I dont know what Im going to do. I think that each person is different. I havent gained. So I suppose that is good.

Today was my first day back at work. and...
I would have had to put in for it prior to my surgery, but, Ive been out a lot during the past year, cause Ive been sick. A lot, thus the reason I got the lap band. Every time I would go into work I had a note, I have fibromyalgia, and that put me out a lot, and the fact I have a 2 year old who gets a cold and somehow magically I get it, doesnt help. So, I used up all my vacation time and my sick time. Ive been there a little over a year, I only got 5 sick days, and 5 vacation days. Not much really. Thats why I fear that they will let me go when I go back tomorrow. I guess, Im not really upset about it. Cause like I said prior I want to go back to school.

Today was my first day back at work. and...
I dont have FMLA at my work, its a small establishment. I get benefits, but they are horrible, I took today off just an extra precaution, plus Im feeling a little off today. So, Im taking it easy. I have a feeling that work wont be too happy with me. But, its ok. I dont want to get fired, but if I do, then, I look at it this way, they didnt care that I just HAD surgery. Most jobs dont. But this place is supposed to be a family establishment, which cares for their employees. Right now, Im looking in to quitting, I would like to go back to school, but, budget wont cut it. And it really makes me depressed. I have a easy job, Im a graphic artist. Well 25% of the time, most of the time, Im running a laser engraver and a braille machine which requires bending, pulling tugging, etc. Not too bad but its a lot of standing. Its an ok job, but its just a job. I really want to go back to school in the fall and Im trying to think of a way I can do that. Seems impossible at this point.

Today was my first day back at work. and...
Thanks everyone, Im going to try to go in tomorrow, and see how things go. Im mostly sitting, but, the standing when I have to is killing me. I cant wait until the energy level goes up. I really want that to happen. But we will see how work goes tomorrow, I just fear I will get fired soon enough, cause Im out so much. Uggh.

Today was my first day back at work. and...
I made it 3 and a half hours before I got sick, one, I just stood up no gas pains nothing, and had diarrhea all over myself, like I said no gas no nothing, I was so afraid to tell my boss that I had to go home to clean up, but he let me go, but my stomach is in knots and I feel it could happen again. I was banded on Monday. I should be able to work right? Did I over do it?

Was banded on Monday and
Well Im supposed to be on the 2 week liquid, just as I was prior to surgery, Im trying not to over do it, but, I started getting sick of drinking those drinks, so I just wanted to advance a tad bit. The bread I wouldnt suggest just yet. I have lost weight 20lbs and Im 5 days post op. Next week, once I complete the liquid stage, I have to go to mushies. Which I will, Im not pushing it too much, but if I drank anymore drinks I would vomit. Too much was making me sick. Needless to say, Im not trying to break the rules, but, I feel like I have done well so far. I also go to the gym. The only problem Im having is dehydration, little urination, etc. Which usually Im using the bathroom a lot. I have to admit, Im not drinking enough water, one, I sip, and sip, and I get sick. Uggh. :frown: But Im still going by the rules, just everynow and then cheating with some mushies.

Was banded on Monday and
Today was the first day I actually got to chew on something. I went to the Vietnamese restaurant and ordered Pho soup, which is a rice noodle soup, I asked them to give me little soup, and more broth, which in the soup there were tiny onions, which I chewed on and chewed on, I had some of the noodles, I chewed until liquid, and believe it or not, it gave me the energy I needed, and I felt good. I didnt hurt nor did I over do it. Then, I went to Panera bread, they sell whole grain dry breads, which on my diet I can have dry breads, I waned to eat a few bites of it, and so I did. But I chewed and chewed, I think that my stomach may not be ready for the bread, and although I didnt eat much I could tell what was agreeing with me, and what I ate didnt really agree with me, so bread is out for now, but Im taking one step at at time mixing mushy in with liquids, so I can transition better. So, just wanted to give an update. I have also been dehydrated, water isnt my best friend. Uggh. Anyway, please respond if you have any advice.

Question
I would love to walk outside, however, here in NC, its about 105 degrees, and I just said that I couldnt do it here, and just to get a membership. I got a great deal. But I would love to walk outside, just a good change of scenery. Youre right about pushing myself, I think after 10 mins, I was ready to stop. But I kept up until 15 mins. I felt so drained.

Question
Thanks guys, I really listened to my body today, cause, once that 15 mins was up I was ready to nap. LOL. Plus Im still on my pain meds. My crazy cat landed on my stomach earlier, and it was the only spot hurting, other than that I have been tapering off with the meds cause the pain isn't as bad as it was before. I am so glad I have this site, cause without you guys I wouldnt know what Im doing. Just like the little bits of grilled cheese I ate last night. I didnt eat a lot and I chew and chewed, until it was liquid, still it was a big no no, and I learned from that. Thanks to all of you. Now I know what I should do with the exercising part. I want to do this right, and for once in my life, Im going to follow through with it. I want to be thinner, and healthier. Not to remain fat. Thanks for all the support and advice.
