  1. you can get capsules, but i am taking the chewables because that is what is delivered. I also dont mind them as a chewable, less likely to get nauseous if i remember and it is not meal time. The capsules i was taking from Amazon beforehand if i didnt take with food i got very nauseous every time.
  2. I typically stick to the SF popcicles if i want something sweet. I still do not eat enough to make or try desserts. It would just go to waste.
  3. I am taking the Bariactiv ones that were prescribed by my Dr.
  4. Today.. I decided to try something i probably shouldn't have.. but have been wanting and didnt have time to make my self LOL.. So.. here goes.. Pizza.. It was cheese only and thin crust.. I took about 3 bites.. and i was done. I did not dump, get sick, but felt super full super fast... and to be honest it didnt even taste as good and i remember from before surgery.. So.. I am calling this.. did, done, gone.. no desire to have again LOL
  5. Mouse you are doing amazing. I will hit 6 months on May 8th.. I want to be at my goal by the time November rolls around or pretty darn close to it.. Lets see how this goes.
  6. Absolutely Awesome. I am approaching 6 months myself ( May 8th) and am super excited to see where i land. Your update is so inspirational.. I may have to use some of your notes to get enough water, track food. I do keep carbs to a min but tracking is my evil partner LOL.. Great Job on all you have accomplished!
  7. Go back to basics! you know what you are doing wrong. That is the first step, the second step is to go back to what works, and the 3rd step is to follow through. You got this!
  8. Give it time. You most likely gained from surgery and it takes a few weeks for your body to dispose of the gas they bloated you with and the liquids they pumped you with in the hospital. I was the same way and it catches up quick. Just keep sipping, find flavors to add to your water to help you keep drinking liquids. I too dislike water, but you can find a way to drink it.. whether its flavored, protein2o or something.. Good Luck and welcome to the losers bench.
  9. I chose the sleeve, mostly because i was self pay without insurance, however the sleeve does wonders. I liked the idea that the sleeve meant that my body functions would be the least invasive and function normally. There is a lot of restriction with the sleeve. from what i have heard, the bypass should be for those with comorbidities besides the weight loss. I was lucky and didnt have anything but weight loss to deal with. The other thing i heard was some that get the sleeve have to be revised to bypass depending on how much weight you have to lose. You really need to weigh all the options and make the best decision for you. What is right for one, may not be right for another.
  10. The stalls are normal. Everybody goes through them. Just keep working on what you are doing and your body will catch up!
  11. Just sending a Good Morning! I feel like i have been gone forever and all I have done is work and dance LOL.. I just updated my weight and the difference was over 15 pounds, so i have been gone over a month LOL... Anyways.. Hope all are doing well. I am going to catch up on the boards and be active on here again! Have a great day!
  12. 60 to 80 g of protein and always liquid first. Especially in the beginning. you cannot run the risk of being dehydrated..
  13. you should be fine. I had no issues and had surgery on Thursday and went back to work on Monday.
  14. Great Job to you both!
  15. Thank you! Still a work in Progress!
  16. Each person is different. Keep in mind that different starting weights, different surgeries, different paces. The surgery is just a tool, and a part of the new life. Its totally up to the person with the tool to make the right choices with food, exercise and behaviors. I was sleeved on Nov 8th and there can be others who were bypassed on the same day.. Our weight loss depends on how we treat our tool..combined with our starting weights, and exercise routines. There are too many variables to make a decision on a surgery based on others results. Good Luck on your Journey.
  17. Your welcome. I am only 3 months out and the other night i skipped dinner.. not because i wanted to, but like you.. I was busy that day. I had work, straight to the gym, left the gym, straight to my ballroom dance classes.. Before surgery on a day like this.. I would have run through Mcdonalds or something to grab something. I know i cant now, so i just didnt eat dinner, also not a good habit..So to fix that ( Point of this post for you lol) is i bought some Quest Meal Replacement Bars.. not just the snack ones.. SO on a day where i am constantly on the go.. i can grab one and have my dinner in between places and still get my protein in.. It also gives me the sweet variety in case i wanted it.. but i never really did sweets beforehand. I would also track your carbs and not just measure your food. Try making sure you are not overdoing the carbs, sometimes its not how much we eat but what we eat.. Even though my NUT told me i can have 60 carbs a day. i confirmed with Dr. he wants less than 40.. I want less than 20.. So i try to intake as few as possible. Good Luck to you and reach out if you need any other support!
  18. I may get some of the Bio Oil myself. Most of mine without anything dont really look bad. The one where the stomach was removed is the one that looks like it needs some help. I look like i have a penny in the middle of my stomach LOL
  19. I normally stick to one thing for 2 weeks, and then if it doesnt work.. move to something else.. UNTIL yesterday.. When the ducolax didnt work, at all i did a suppository.. and that only cleared a portion of it.. a few hours later i couldnt even sit or anything.. and i did the enema.. and that cleared some.. but i wasnt sure if it was ALL of it.. so i took the ducolax last night( Doctors orders were to take daily till my intestines kicked back in).. then this morning i woke up with the diarrhea. I did start the miralax this morning.. as a daily thing.. at least for now until i talk to my Doctor tomorrow. I may have had a blockage yesterday and its just now clearing out or something because when i started the ducolax.. My doctor said to do the enema.. then start ducolax daily.. I went to the bathroom on Tues.. due to enema, on Thursday, Sat, and Sun ( last week) due to ducolax.. then even though i was taking it daily.. I did not go to the bathroom again until yesterdays fiasco.
  20. Good Luck on your Journey! Both responses cover everything i could possibly say.. The only thing i would add is if you had your surgery out of town.. check in with your local hospitals for a support group. I was lucky to find a very good one near where i live, when i had my surgery 3 hours away.. I now attend the support groups 2 WED a month. I really like it because each group is catered to the time frame of your surgery, and not like the other one i tried and it was not catered to my time but an overall meeting.. I hope you find some local support!
  21. I am new to this Journey so i cannot speak from experience. I am not sure what exactly you are eating but try replacing those items that are veering you off the path with something else. If its the sweet thing at the store.. get something else sweet at the store like fruit in a cup or something. If its the after dinner snack along with the kids, start making them SF Jello with Fat Free cool whip. Go back to the alternatives. Instead of Pizza, do the cauli crust Pizza.. Sub one thing at a time so you dont feel like you are cheating yourself.. but make the changes before that 10 pounds turns to 20.. etc. Good Luck!
  22. I actually woke up with Diarrhea this morning. I dont know if its the ducolax i took last night..even though the night before it didnt help.. or the Quest Protein bar i had for dinner last night with 17g of fiber .. but i went 5 times this morning.. i have a feeling i will gain this week as i lost a lot of water this morning.
