  1. Yes it is. And the other big thing I discovered is that right now, I can not eat tomato sauce. I have gotten sick all 3 times. The first time, I thought maybe I ate too fast. The second time, I thought maybe I ate too much. But the third time I made sure to pay attention to everything.....I got sick, so I figure it is the tomato sauce (I had ricotta bake). My mom suggested that it was the type of sauce I used might have had paste in it that alot of people have a problem digesting tomato paste. I figure I am just not going to chance it right now and put tomato sauce to the side for a few months.
  2. It doesn't sound like you are eating enough. I'll echo everyone else. If you are not journaling your food, please start to do that.
  3. I am having the same issue. I was never huge on using salt before, but now it is something else. I used to love the chicken salad at my store. Now, I had to throw it out because it tasted way too salty. I had my son taste it to see if it was me....it was me. LOL
  4. I get hiccups and my nose will start running. LOL
  5. Hi gang. I started back to work yesterday and decided to also start back at the gym. Needless to say, I was in bed early last night! Also happening last night, was my first episode of eating too fast....because I was late getting back from the gym and had to hurry and eat to get to a booster meeting. OMG. PLEASE make sure you take your time eating. I swear to god I learned my lesson on that one and it was an awful one to learn. Today is 2 weeks since my bypass and so far I am down 18 pounds! Pretty exciting!
  6. I am really looking forward to going.....I've missed it the past few weeks.
  7. I ate 1/4 cup. That is the size my team has me starting with. It satisfied me.
  8. It's pouring here so I am inside too. That's ok though, I am crocheting a baby blanket so I'm busy. Tomorrow I will go to the gym and I can't wait.
  9. Oh that sucks. Maybe try a scrambled egg instead tomorrow or thinned out cream of wheat? The chicken salad went great. I did a large can of chicken, 3 TBSP mayo, a tiny bit of celery seed, then salt and pepper. I took 20 mins to eat it and felt good. Tonight for dinner I am making roasted chicken thighs, carrots and mashed potatoes......so I am going to puree one of the thighs for me then add some carrots and have a tiny bit of mashed potato too. We will see how that goes.
  10. Hi gang. I had my post op appt today and it went very well. I am allowed pureed foods which he wants me to transition to soft over the next 3 weeks......so I came home and immediately made pureed chicken salad. I was also told to go to it with restarting my exercise, so I am very happy about that.
  11. I took liquid Tylenol 2 days after surgery.....the worst thing I have ever tasted in my life. Omg it was nasty. I will save it in case of emergency, but dear Lord that was horrid. I am really looking forward to having some real food tomorrow. Yeah drinking is going well here too.....as long as I don't gulp, I am good.
  12. Just checking in. It's 1 week since my surgery and honestly I feel great. I almost went back to work yesterday, but decided against it because work has just sucked so much lately, I don't want to go back. Lol My Dr. Called to check on me Saturday and told me I could start yogurt yesterday......I was SO happy to start eating something other than soup/broth. I go for my post op check up tomorrow and am really hoping he say go ahead and start puree.
  13. I had my surgery the day before you, but haven't had the issue you are having. Honestly, I would not worry as long as you are drinking your fluids to ensure you do not get dehydrated. Our pouches and new intestinal tract are going to react somehow, someway to let us know they aren't happy with us. Feel well!
  14. I am 3 days post op. I had surgery Tuesday Home from hospital Wednesday. Tylenol only yesterday. Nothing today. An hour after I got to my room after surgery, I told my hubby that we have to walk, so every hour on the hour, I did a lap in the hallway and then would do the incentive spirometer. Make sure to sip. I gulped once and learned that lesson fast.
  15. Here I am post OP day 3. I honestly feel really good. I haven't taken a pain pill since Wednesday, tylenol yesterday, nothing today. Tmi...I pooped for the first time this morning, so I am happy that's out of the way. I am actually debating going back to work on Monday and save that second week of vacation for true days off.
  16. That's good that you are seeing better. Make sure your sips are small and walk every hour!
  17. Omg I did liquid Tylenol this morning and it is just awful!!!!!!
  18. Congrats and best of luck
  19. I honestly feel really good. I'm having some coffee right now, the iv bag is almost done and then I am getting discharged early afternoon. I will tell you....small sips and walk. I get up and walk every hour and then come back and use that incentive spirometer. Oh and I had the lovely surprise of heparin shots in my stomach. Good luck to you today!!!!!
  20. Well I spoke too soon.......heparin shots in the stomach. Ugh that sucks. Otherwise, I feel good. The nurse woke me for vitals and of course here I now lay wide awake.
