  1. Lol....I am a wimp. The most I have whimpered so far was getting the iv
  2. I was too. I feel way better than I thought I would.
  3. Anyway, I feel a lot better than I thought I would. The gas is the worst part right now. I'm sure once the drugs wear off, I will see what it really is.
  4. I have to be at the hospital at 9!!!!! I am so excited and nervous. I have been battling with my sinuses the past 2 days. With the temps up and down, it has not helped me. No fever though, no cough either. Just my nose one extreme or the other....stuffed up or Niagara falls. I was allowed clear fluids until 5 am....luckily, I woke up at 4 and was able to have coffee. I will post more later I'm sure.
  5. How are you feeling this morning?
  6. Yeah just do regular broth. I started keeping packets of it in my desk just in case. Maybe make your own bone broth? I've done that and it is pretty good that way.....but a heck of alot cheaper to just buy it in the store. LOL
  7. The beginning part of the drive is not too bad because I live in a fairly rural area, but once I get down toward work (Pittsburgh) then the fun starts. I grew up in NY, so offensive driving and road rage are second nature to me...but the people here do NOT know how the heck to drive. It is INSANE. And Penndot does NOT do a good job maintaining the highway that I have to take to work either, so that is always sketchy in the winter. Say no to the crackers!!!!! Drink some tea. Drink some broth.
  8. Glad that you are feeling a bit better. I hope they took good care of you in the hospital. I am having a hernia repair too with my bypass. He had originally said he was going to take my gall bladder too since I have been putting off having it removed (I have a polyp in there). Hope you are feeling better this afternoon.
  9. You are SO lucky that you have the option to work at home. I don't and I have a 35 mile drive. We will see how I feel. I know after my hysterectomy, I came in, did what I had to do and would go home for the day. Depending on how I feel, I might do the same again.
  10. So glad to see I am not the only one. I have been doing the same thing and have truly struggled with sipping instead of using a straw.
  11. Exactly. I know patience is a virtue...blah blah blah, but I am one that once I make up my mind to do something, I get on with it. So in the meantime, I do not have to do liquid diet until the day before the surgery, which is nice, but I started on Monday with doing liquids except for dinner which i am doing 3 oz of protein and a cup of veggies. And work sucks, so I am looking forward to surgery just to get the heck out of this office for 2 weeks. Pathetic that I want surgery in order to not be in work. LOL
  12. I am the 29th too. I can't wait to just get this done already! LOL
  13. Thank you for replying. I truly was curious how it all panned out. I mean, how on earth do you trust that practice again after something like that? You can't. It's sad that it wasn't a one off and others in the area are having issues still. BUT at least you can refer patients elsewhere and that will prevent anyone you come in contact with from going through the same issues. Best of luck to you!
  14. My family knows. Our closest friends know. Friends that have also had WLS know because of my million questions to them. My office knows. If people ask during my journey, I will not lie about it. I will tell them, but I am not going to be documenting this on social media.
  15. Look on Amazon for New Whey Liquid Protein. They were one of the items my NUT suggested and I am glad I tried them. They are all sorts of fruit flavors, they are sweet and you add them to water. I find that if I add them to 32 oz, I barely taste the sweetness.
  16. Good luck to you!!! I hope your hospital stay and recovery go smoothly
  17. I wonder if the OP ever heard anything from the Dr concerning this?
  18. I actually bought some liquid tylenol for at home just in case. Hope you are feeling better each new hour!
  19. How does it "feel" when drinking? Is the sensation strange? That is great they are so nice. I hope mine are!
  20. How wonderful!!!! Are your nurses nice and helpful? Are you kicking yourself for not bringing something? Are you going home this afternoon or staying another night?
  21. OMG I wish I could go to some of my branches next week!!!! That would have helped me so much.
  22. See, I am so glad this place exists. I can say this type of stuff to my hubby and he would look at me like I have 2 heads. He just does NOT get it.
