I am so excited for tomorrow that I am planning my first meal which will be 2 oz vanilla Greek yogurt, 6 oz chocolate protein shake, and 8 oz coffee with a splash of whichever protein shake I choose to use as my creamer.

Full liquids is stage 2 and it starts on SundayI am so excited for that. Purée is stage 3 for me.

I have to record every drop of liquid I consume and bring my log sheets with me to see my surgeon on the 9th of October.

Everything is moving forward I am looking forward to Sunday when I can add full liquids to my diet and go back to my protein shakes, I have missed those. I think I have missed coffee most of all though.

I am well the hardest part is getting out of bed to go to the bathroom :)

I had to go and pick up some compression stockings which are designed to compress my legs while I am sleeping and I did ask if the would fit me the guy took one look at my legs and said no she doesn’t need the extra large ones. I tried to put them on tonight and they do not fit. I will be calling in the morning to give them a piece of my mind. These things cost me $75.

My first meal at home all “cooked “ by me

I am home with only one new prescription for pain and then only took like three the whole time I was in the hospital. And they let go while running a fever.

Breakfast now and I was able to get down 30 oz of water all day and two of the three things for dinner. Minor pain nothing major

My first meal, kept it down and even kept down a pain pill. I am in bed and wearing the Cpap and trying to go to sleep.

On my way to the hospital with butterflies ? in my stomach. My prayers are with all of my fellow 9/26ers for strength and courage for each of us and wisdom for each of our surgeons as they each give us their very best work.

My check in is for 6am and surgery is for 7:30. I am doing my pre-op as I type.

@AndreaK. I am type 2 as well and as of today (4 day pre-op) I am only on 1000 mg metformin twice a day and I check my blood sugar frequency. My last A1C was 5.4 down from 6.8 before I started my 14 day liquid fast. I am calling my PCP every few days to check in and go over my numbers. They took me off of my quick acting insulin and started reducing my treseba. I have been off the treseba now for 4 days now and my sugars have been within normal range all this time

I did my switch from regular to decaf over a 3 month period by adding one bag of decaf into my regular coffee at a time until my coffee holder was all decaf

The tannins in tea, lucky me, cause migraine headaches that are so bad that I am gutter crawling, commode hugging sick. And because of that I have not had tea either hot or iced in over 10 years

My doctor told me that caffeine will impact the healing process of the pouch and that is why I when from a 10 cup a day habit to decaf same thing to 1small 8 ounce cup for the two week fast. I plan to stay on decaf.

Being on day 6 means that you are one day away from one week down, great job! You got this! Can you have sugar free jello? It would be something to break up the monotony of just protein shakes and water.

To give your insurance the chance to catch-up with all of the payments you may have made to other balances? I am only guessing here as I am in the same spot and I have the same issue with my hospital. I have to go and pay for additional supplies for my c-pap machine because I have not met the deductible on my insurance yet. I plan to bring that bill with me to the hospital to get the hospital bill reduced.

Have you been there more then a year? Family Medical Leave may be an option. However you might have to disclose the type of surgery you are having

Got my time for the surgery, I have to be at the hospital at 6am and my procedure starts at 7:30. This will all take place on the 26th. I am ready for the surgery part of this to be over. The liquid part of it has not been all that bad. I am doing well. I have managed to get off of all of my shots for my diabetes.

I have some family that has no clue yet, some have an idea and some know all the details. It is the same with my friends. I plan to make a major announcement on Facebook after the fact so no one can say anything to change my mind as it will be already done at that point.

The hardest part for me is the constant running to the bathroom, the arthritis in my left knee makes me not move as fast as I used to and not being able to take the meds I used to because of the RnY that I am going to have, means I have had to switch to a topical treatment for it and it is not working as well. I know, like everything else I have to give it time. I have taken to setting a timer when I start drinking so every 90 minutes whether I have to go or not I am getting up and going to the bathroom. I have started my Short Term Disability from my job because there is no way I can work in a call center and be able to run to the bathroom as often as I need with this diet. Since I work multiple jobs being home lets me work on the CEUs I have to work on for the part time job I have coming up for tax season. I find that keeping busy is the key. Finding something to take my mind off of what I am doing, is the key. A good movie or something to binge watch on Netflix works as well.
