I hit 100 lbs lost a couple weeks ago, which I had mixed feeling about. It's been a goal I've been waiting for but now loosing weight brings me mixed emotions as... I am pregnant! This was a surprise as I had been on bc and previously unable to get pregnant without the help of a reproductive endocrinologist, I'm about 18 weeks now and me and baby are healthy. This pregnancy is nothing like my previous 2 and I'm so excited to meet my third daughter at the end of December.

I just wanted to check on all my November sleeve friends!!! I’ve hit another stall (4 weeks) but I’m trying not to stress!! 135 lbs down!! I’d like to lose another 25-30!

Funny: I recently went on a mission trip to Belize - it’s not the first time I’ve been with this same group of children and I’m able to stay in contact with them some during the year. When I walked out of the airport they were waiting for me (cue tears) and shouting my name. It was so sweet. We get on the van and one little boy puts both of his hands on my face and says, “Ms. JB, what happened to you? You don’t look the same!” I said, I know!! He says, “ oh, Ms JB- you are not....you know (and he motions outwArd with both hands” I just died laughing (out of the mouth of babes!! He then proceeded to look through my phone for pictures of last year of the two of us and says- see! See!!! You aren’t the same!

And I’m not- I’m so many ways!!! ❤️ hope y’all are all doing well!

Checking in on this thread as I had my 6 month post op visit last week. Labs were great even though I'm not consistent with my vitamins. Weight loss is frustratingly slow but steady at 1.3lb/week. For my NSV, I'm in a size 14, a size I haven't worn since 1984! Therapy is a bit of a slow grind and family life is a bit stressful, but so far, I feel really on track.
My downsides are 1) Heartburn, 2) Constipation still, and 3) Hunger has come back some. It takes a long time for the hunger.. many hours, but I didn't miss between meal hunger.
I included my 6 month before and after. Anyone else want to share?

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to check in an see how everyone is doing? things here have been fabulous, I can't believe that amount of energy I have, keeping up with my toddler is so easy now, accomplished my first flight since surgery I was not in need of a belt extender, the tray flipped down with room to spare, I was able to cross my legs and sat in the middle next to my husband and toddler and no problems... I am getting between 800- 1000 calories a day and between 50 and 60 grams of protein a day... meeting water goal, and continuing my vitamins, I am not going to a gym currently but I do walk everyday, and use the elliptical in the basement. I have currently lost 86 lbs altogether since November, meal planning and structure has become easier... logging is key for me. I have noticed my body having a pattern of losing about 2lbs a week some weeks more some weeks 1lb.... I look at it as a win all around. I hope everyone is doing well!!

You look great!!! Congrats on your progress!! I am going to that Mouse's house next week (for the first time EVER, I might add) and I cannot tell you how thrilled I am not to have that dread of "will I fit" hanging over my head! Or the "Am I gonna be in a middle seat on the flight?"And, I'm actually EXCITED about all the steps I'm going to get in too! Life is already so much more enjoyable.

I had my 12 week post-op appointment this morning with my surgeon.. I'm down 40lbs since surgery and 80lbs since May (when I started the insurance-required medically-supervised diet)!! I know I'm losing a bit slower than some but he was very happy with my progress and so am I! It's not a race and I just have to remember that! Hope everyone else is still doing great!

JB29 got a reaction from BlueIGT in Minimal weight loss in the first 6 weeks
I was in the same boat for a while- I read everything I could get my hands on and almost everything said the same thing....to be patient. And to be honest, I wasn't happy about that bc.....come on!!!!!! I was eating around 450-800 calories a day and I thought for sure with the severe deficit I'd see some great losses. Nope. I stalled at losing only 30lbs in the first weeks (preop/postop) for nearly a month. I started to increase my calories- I began to eat more times during the day, which quite frankly scared me to death. After I did that- I've had steady weight loss (67 lbs total since 11/29). The last thing you want to hear is to be patient, but stick it out!

I drink Herbalife shakes and teas almost daily and I've had no issues at all (8 weeks post op). I started about 4 weeks post op on both. I also drink Spark from Advocare and their collagen and haven't had any issues with that either.

YAY!!! I am right there with you having a bit of a stall but I cheated the other day and peaked at the scale and saw it was going down this week already by 3lbs... not recording yet because fingers crossed it will be the end of my stall lol... I am happy I think I shared with you all that the doctor had told me they only expect a 15lb or 20 lb loss in the first month... by the sounds of it will are all doing great...
I am shocked at how fast the changes are happening, I think people around me are noticing which is nice and a little weird like I am coming to terms with how BIG I really was and have been for such a long time, it is so nice to not be reaching for a snack or a second helping, to feel satisfied with the smaller portions. I came downstairs in a 4x shirt today and my husband laughed at me and was like you can't wear that outside in public... I was shocked Honestly I hadn't even really looked in the mirror... I had grabbed it because holiday themed, and threw it on, and he was right it was below my knees, and just looked hilarious all around... I ended up laughing and crying (happy tears) but just overwhelmed that this is working and how much I needed this in my life. I feel like I am truly going to be here to watch my daughter grow old and be the support she needs in life. I am just so grateful for chances we have before us.
On another note, I am a suitable weight for the elliptical we have in the basement, and I am loving fighting with her lol I had no idea but this machine talks to you as you are working out, trying to motivate you, keep up the work, this 100% incline is nothing lol. I love yelling at this machine or answering her so fun... My husband was like um were you on the phone with the cable company (cause I have a tendency to get into arguments with cable company remote area = slow service) I was confused at first but her had heard me yelling hysterical!
I really hope everyone has a great weekend, and for those celebrating a happy holiday! I can say I already have my Christmas wish for health this year, and so looking forward to 2019! I am so glad to have found this group as well! Love the support!

I’m still frustrated with eating some days, but this sure helps me look past it and know that I’m on the right path!

How is everyone else doing with your weight loss this far? Any new non scale victories?

hey everyone just giving a update had my 1 month check up this week and was feeling pretty good about it was down almost 30 pounds since the surgery and thought dang im doing pretty good only to go in and talk to the dietitian and she telling me that if i dont start eating more im gonna be very malnutrition i was only eating about 500-600 Calories and less than 30g carbs and fats with well over 130g protein . So she gives me a plan of getting in a minimum of 900 calories with 90+ Carbs and 40+Fats and im looking at her like you crazy? and she said for your build and your highth you need to get as close as possible to these totals. that was Tuesday i have got as close as 82 carbs and felt like i was gonna be sick all day from forcing my self to eat so i just dont know what to do about the whole eating thing but on the bright side i did sign up for the gym on Wednesday and have went the last 2 morning doing 1 hour on the treadmill both days so that felt good i get to start weight lifting next week. my highest weight i remember seeing was like 410 , i was 352 day of surgery a and as of this morning i am weighing in at 315. happy holidays to everyone

Hey everyone! I see there are some great victories being posted, I am officially 50lbs down from my highest weight!! so I wanted to share with everyone too! Congrats to everyone on their personal victories as well. How is everyone doing? I am still in soft foods, but loving this stage, I am getting in a lot more protein, but need to figure out how to get space for the carbs? I did start coffee again, many of you already know my TMI issues and to be honest halfway through the cup of coffee I was in the bathroom and it was glorious, so small cup is what I am drinking and add in an extra glass of water to compensate for dehydration effects... miralax stopped working, I see my Dr next week and hopefully we can brainstorm a bit together. I am also hoping to get cleared to do a bit more activity... next week. I could stay in the stage forever lol. hope you are all doing well!

I can't wait to see how we all do on this journey that we are on! Next stop be it purees or soft foods I think we know we are able to tackle everything that is infront of us! Here's to where it began with dreams of crossing our legs and fitting into airplane seats, I am just really proud of all of us! Have a wonderful weekend!!

Still scared to try new things- I am terrified of getting sick (I do NOT want to throw up- still sore on one side ) but feeling much much better!! Only problem- I forgot to eat today.....yeah....that has never in my 36 years of being alive happened . So I was really weak and had the shakes for a bit ! Has anyone been told to use lemon juice to help with nausea? I’ve been using meds prescribed by doctor- but a friend that had this done a couple of years ago said that he was told by a nurse that lemon juice would help tremendously. He said that most of the nausea was caused by mucus - and it makes a plug in your throat (which strangely enough I feel like that is going on) and the lemon juice helped. I’m just super scared to try new things right now ??
