I am at a major stand still with this weight loss. My scale must be broken. I am not eating junk food I do not eat very much and I exercise and still nothing does anybody have any ideas what could get me over this major hump it has been this way for about a month now. I know I am filled enough due to I feel full. I eat tuna fish everyday for lunch I have my protein shake for breakfast and something very little with my family at night. Where am I going wrong? HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT CAN i DO TO JUMP START THIS<img src="http://www.LapBandTalk.com/images/smilies/mad.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Mad" smilieid="9" class="inlineimg" /></p>

I joined curves last week and have been 3 times this week alread and I have lost 2 pounds I was at a complete stand still and now I am so energized to go and to leave curves. I found that when I feel like giving up on a machine or just want to leave I just say to myself "self you are here to burn off fat so fat be gone" and I find that I work harder and faster. Today was not a day I was planning on going to curves but I was sitting home looking at my laundry and said do I really want to do that and my answer was nope I am going to curves and I was so proud of myself for going in today. Congrat to everone who is having a great week.

Hello all fellow banders or soon to be banded. My name is Melissa I was bandned on July 21st by Dr, Faillo at Baystate Medical. Since surgery I have lost a little over 30 pounds in 7 weeks. This surgery has been great and I had my first fill yesterday. As we speak I am sipping on my Protein shake. I think we should try to get together with other western Mass people at least once a month for our own support group. It is sometimes good to meet face to face and watch each others progress. We can either meet at an agreed place or someones house. What do you all think? If your intrested please send me a Personal Message and I will see if I can agrange something that will work for everyone who would like to meet. Give me some ideas of where you would like to meet. I enjoy telling my story and look forward to meeting all of you.

Well I went to the doctors today and good news was he said he did not care about that site LOL due to it was not my port site. He said it looked worse than it was but just to clean it with soap and water and put a antibiotic cream on it and it will heal just fine. He said other than that I look GREAT down 26 pounds in 12 days YAHOOOOOOO for me. Thanks for your concerns and thoughts have a nice night everyone.

well one of my sites seems to be infected and I looked at it today and it seems to be open. like I have a slight hole in my stomach. I have to go see the doctor tomorrow I just wonder what he is going to do. I have no fever or it is not sore(just a little) it is red but not hot to touch but it really looks gross. only me could even screw up the lap band surgery lol.. I will keep you all posted. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Called doctor and he said what I was feeling was indeed NORMAL. I guess I do not associate pain with NORMAL. But oh well A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do and for me that is weight loss.

planned on calling tomorrow was just asking for some advice. :-)

Hello all I was banded on july 21st 2006 and have been doing ok since then but just in the past couple of days I have had a bad pain under my right breast and it hurt to take a deep breath it hurt to lay on my stomach. I feel full all the time like I over ate ( or should I say over drank ) but I do not think I have I am doing what I am suppose to maybe I am drinking to fast can this cause the pain I am feeling? Please has anybody experienced this pain and can give me some advice?? help a girl in need and pain :cry :cry

good morning all I have a few questions for you all. When were you able to lay down in bed after being banded? I have so much pain trying to get into bed that I am sleeping on the recliner and man my whole body aches form being in that postition all night. when does the pain start going away. I mean I can get up and walk with minimal pain but to stand up from a sitting position it really hurts. I am day 3 out of surgery. I also find that I get the dry hic cups more often now has anyone else experienced this?

I met with Dr. Fiallo in November and had surgery just july 21st the only reason it took me so long is my insurance company denied me so I had to appeal it. but once i got approval from the insurance company it too me 2 weeks to get in for surgery

ok all I am now an official bander member. I had surgery this morning and I am now home got home about 1 hour ago. I am doing fine feeling very sore and sometimes get the feeling that I want to vomit after drinking some water but I have not. I just want to pop in and tell you all that I am fine thank you al for great support

Ok all surgery in only a few days I went today and checked out curves so I have some idea of my work out after surgery. I guess I am starting to get scared not knowing how I am going to handle the swallowing thing and eating. Of course we are going on vacation at the end of August to Old Orchard Beach Maine and I believe I will at least be on Mushies by then. I am so looking forward to losing this weight and can not wait to post before and after pictures. I guess I am scared of the UNKNOWN... Well you all have been great support for me and many other newbies and I hope I will also be support for someone someday. I know the lady at curves wants to take before and after pictures of me and she also is very excited to watch me transform into a thinner person. That alone makes me very happy. I can do what ever I set my mind to and this is not a challenge this is merely a speed bump in life. ON YOUR MARK GET SET NOW LOSE SOME WEIGHT HERE I COME TO A THINNER ME READY OR NOT HERE I COME

Thank you all for your positive comments. It really means alot to me and I see how well you all are doing in your weight loss and I can not wait for that also. I figure by Xmas I should be down a few pants size which in my mind will be GREAT YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... Well I will talk to you all before surgery and I will try to pop on here when I get home at least to let everyone know I am ok. Thank you ALL AGAIN.

ok ok I know 11 days and counting. you ask excited? Nervous? I am both. but I do have good news I spoke with a woman in person the other day that has my exact surgeon and just had it done a week prior to us talking and she looked great so some of my nervousness went away. she put my mind to rest at somethings. I know everyone is different but she just looked great and has already started losing weight. I am so excited. have a good day everyone

Well hello all my fellow lap banders I am so excited today I had Cheryl call me from Dr. Fiallo's office and ask me whne I would like the surgery and I said to her " IS YESTERDAY TOO SOON?" so she said she would see what she could do. and drum roll please..................................... SURGERY IS JULY 21 ST YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO part of me is excited and part of me is scared of what to expect after surgery so all I know is every night I will be on here reading and rereading about the procedure and what to expect. I am glad I do not have to wait months for the date to arrive. it will be over before I know it. So any advice anybod can give me to help me make it through the next 2 weeks would be so much appreciated. I am so excited to be on the other side soon looking back I plan on taking before and after pictures and once I am looking somewhat decent I will post them. I know you all are and will be very excited and very much supportive for me and I want to thank you all for the kind words in the past and the encouraging words in the future towards a new lighter me. Thank you all

not sure where everyone went but last you all knew I got denied by my insurance company. Well I appealed it and got a letter on Saturday stated that they were pleased to inform me that the procedure would be covered YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO So now this AM I am waiting for the DR.'s office to open and I am calling to go to the next step I am so excited. will keep you posted

ok so is everyone still meeting on June 11th at 2:00 at picadilly pub???? Lets get this thing together. I might not be there seeing I am not able to be banded it discourages me alot and I am now doing weight watchers and so far have lost 5 pounds yipeeeee :-( I am so bummed about my insurance company and the doctors office it is unreal I am going to try to make it that day so I can meet all of you and hear your stories. Let me know who is going.

Ok everyone it looks like the majority of people can get together on Sunday June 11 lets say 2:00 at the Pic on Route 9 in Worcester. I received a letter from my insurance company yesterday and the said that the lap band was not covered under my insurance. But before I started this whole process I called them and asked them and they said yes why would they pay for all the visits to dr and phys. and nutritional appointments if it is not covered? I am so upset because I can not do this on my own the weight loss I have tried and failed the only thing is I hope that the doctors office Dr. Fiallo's office knows of a way around this. I do not know who to call the insurance company or the Dr's office. Oh well I hope to see everyone at the Pic on June 11 at 2 Email me and let me know if you are a yes or no so I can at least get a head count

Okay everyone who wants to get together and meet give me a bunch of date you are availble to meet for lunch in worcester at picadilly pub and I will try to find one that works for everyone. email me all the dates you are availble and with in 1 week I will give you a for sure date. Sorry guys I have been busy with some stuff around home and not able to put the time into putting this thing together. The picadilly pub sounds great if the first weekend does not work how about the 2nd? I would like to try to get this thing started and continue to do it every month or every other month. The same day (like 2nd saturday of the month) meet and do lunch and compare notes and stories, up's down. Ok lets say 2nd saturday of June which would be June 10th we will say 1:00. Happy Easter All of my friends. Well I am going to set up a luncheon for all of us that would like to get together and meet and talk. Congrats to all who have been banded and who are waiting to be banded. Me I am waiting to be banded I saw Dr. Fiallo today 4/4 and he told me I was just waiting to hear from my insurance company. I am so excited and so nervous all at the same time I just want it to be over and done with. I am so glad I found this support group and I am glad to have all of your support. For those of you who already have been banded one question comes to mind does it hurt when you get your fills? What can be expected? I stepped on his scale today and it read 253 OMG my heavest I have ever been I then went shopping for a outfit for a wedding this weekend and was so disappointed that nothing looked good on me and I just said to myself "Self someday you will be able to walk into a regular store and buy something off the rack rather than going to the plus size department. I dream about that day. As I know all of us do. Well I will keep you all posted on my surgery date. I hope to have one sooner than later. We should all try to get together someday for a meeting or a luncheon. Let me know who is interested and I will be the one who puts everything together. I would love to meet all of you.

Thanks for the heads up. I have seen Dr. Fiallo once and have been through the meetings and phys, and dietician and now I have a 2nd look appointment with him on April 4th I have united health care and I hope it will go quickly. I guess my question to you is what is involved with being precertified? I did not know you had to get precertified I thought your insurance either said yes or no or had certain things you needed to do in order to get a yes from them. I am very excited about all of you who have had Dr. Fiallo. I would love to meet all of you someday and keep this circle of support close . Keep in touch

Hello all you all give me so much hope. I make my appointment to see my doctor today and then we can start the insurance wait. I am very excited to have this done and can not wait. I come on here everyday and read what you all have to say and it is great that there is so much support here. Tess I know you had Dr. Fiallo what type of insurance did you have I have united health care I hope they will be quick about giving a yes. Sheryl said it could be 2 weeks to 2 months depending on insurance company. I have to call Sheryl this afternoon. I wish you all well and talk to you all soon.
