well one of my sites seems to be infected and I looked at it today and it seems to be open. like I have a slight hole in my stomach. I have to go see the doctor tomorrow I just wonder what he is going to do. I have no fever or it is not sore(just a little) it is red but not hot to touch but it really looks gross. only me could even screw up the lap band surgery lol.. I will keep you all posted. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

I have had exactly the same in the site where the port is. At first the surgeon suggested it might be erosion of the band on checking he said this was not the case. He then thought that the port might have to be moved as unfortunately mine is right where the bra line is so my bra keeps rubbing it. As I did not want another op I went to see a nurse at a wound clinic and they have been trating it with Tegaderm dressings and inadine. The wound is closing up but I think it will always be a problem because it is where the bra is. Please let me know what your doctor suggests?

Melissa, this is not all that uncommon, but needs to be followed carefully and cleared up. Wound healing seems to be a function of personal physiology as much as anything else; some heal faster and some heal slower than others. But it may also be a sign of infection and that can cause big problems so you want to be as careful as possible.

Well I went to the doctors today and good news was he said he did not care about that site LOL due to it was not my port site. He said it looked worse than it was but just to clean it with soap and water and put a antibiotic cream on it and it will heal just fine. He said other than that I look GREAT down 26 pounds in 12 days YAHOOOOOOO for me. Thanks for your concerns and thoughts have a nice night everyone.
