Need Cheap Lab band fill- Houston
I used to get my fills with Dr. Speigal but his cash price on fills has gone up to $250 from $150. I can't afford to pay that much just for a fill cause I am a cash patient. I have called several places and everyone seems to run $250-$300 a fill. Anyone know anyone in the Houston area that is cheaper. Thanks.

Hello Houston and Beyond!
Hi I was also banded by Dr. Spiegal March of 07'. I have lost 40 lbs since I first had the band. It's been a slow process for me cause I found out I was 4 months pregnant 5 months after having surgery. I actually lost 38 lbs my first 4 months of pregnancy. I had my daughter on Jan. 28, 08' and went back in for my first fill at the beginning of March. I have only lost another 10lbs since then but I think it is because of the pregnancy my body is trying to play catch up. Anyway, I hope your weight loss journey is coming along good. 19 lbs in one month is great!! Keep up the good work.

coming out of the closet...
First of all..... Congratulations!! This is such great news. I just had my first daughter 4 months ago after 12 years of trying. I know it can be hard but GOD does everything for a reason. At least you are at the half way point to your 3 month mark. These are the most important months. Once you hit 3 months it will be so much easier knowing your baby is alright. I will keep you in my prayers & I wish you the best of luck to you. Keep me posted.

Pregnant pictures with port
Flydove, I just had a baby 3 months ago. I had no problems with my port sticking out. I was completely unfilled so it was like I had never had the surgery. If it wasn't for scars on my stomach you wouldn't even know. You should join the banded and pregnant thread on this website. There are other woman who are pregnant or trying to and have some of the same questions. Hope this helps and good luck.

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
dezadoo, I feel for you girl.I would have been really pissed :angry_smile:too if that would have happened. Just think of the other surprises you will get once he is born.....who will he look like, how much will he weight, does he have hair. There will still be lots of suprises. When I had my baby girl I knew she was a girl but expected her to be about 6lbs. she ended up weighting 8 pounds 3 oz. I was shocked! Anyway, sorry to hear about your disappointment but try not to let it get you down. Now you can think of all the exciting things to do with a boy.

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
Blacdimin, I am sure everything will work out for you. You can just start loosing weight again after you have the baby. If you were in Texas I would recommend my OB/GYN since I was only 5 month into my surgery when I found out I was 4 months pregnant. Good Luck and let me know when you hear the good news!

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
Losingitforlife, I would recommend getting all the fill taken out. The baby is going to need all the room to grow and you want to make sure the baby gets all the nutients it needs. If you keep some fill you might not be able to eat everything. Plus believe me your stomach is going to change during pregnancy....for the better:)

Pregnant and Banded...come join me!
Hi everyone I would just like to share my banded and pregnant story with you all. I decided to get banded after my younger sister did it first in December 06. She lost about 30 pounds her first 3 months so that was enough convincing for me. I got banded on March 15, 2007. During the first few months after the surgery I would ask my sister do you ever feel nausea or pains in your stomach. She would tell me she would never feel anything like that. Well for a few days in August of 07 I wasn't feeling good. I was getting a pain in my chest so I decided one night to go in to the hospital thinking something was wrong with my band. Come to find out on August 14, 2007 that I was 4 months pregnant to my surprise. That now explains the nausea...LOL! I had already lost 40 pounds since being banded. So I actually lost 40 pounds my first 4 months of pregnancy. The same day I found out I went in and had all my fill removed. The OB/GYN checked the baby and she was growing perfectly fine. Now I have a 3 month old at home and couldn't be happier. I went back for my first fill a month after haveing her and then went in for a second fill a month after the first. Now I am at the same fill I was at prior to having the baby. The only problem I am having now is I still haven't lost any more weight. I gained about 25 lbs during my pregnancy but within a month after having her(without being banded) I had lost 15 lbs of that. Now I am about 10 lbs shy from where I was prepregancy but I seem to be stuck at this weight. Although I am back to the same feel I can still eat compared to before. I'm not sure why this is. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm scheduled to go in for another fill next week. My thought on this is that since this was the fill I was at and pretty much the same weight I need another feel to continue loosing weight. Anyway just thought I would share my story since it is different. By the way thought I should mention she is my miracle baby. My husband I have been togeather 12 years and I didn't think I could have kids cause I have PCOS. So even if I don't loose more weight it was worth paying the $$$ to end up with my baby! That's how I see it.:rolleyes2:

Salads
I know for me some days I have trouble eating salad. The lettuce doesn't really break up well. But I have also learned if you drown it in dressing it helps a lot. It also depends what else you put on your salad. Hope this helps.
