  1. I can relate so much to this! My mom....she had my sister and I on every diet possible growing up. Weight watchers. HerbaLife....so many more and would just be so rude about anything we ate or drank. I struggled with telling my mom due to us not having the best relationship but I ended up telling her because I didn't want to lie, and I didn't want it to be awkward because the holiday season is around the corner... I'm getting sleeved end of October ya know. So I just told myself your an adult, you want to start this new look on life, tell her and if she's negative AT ALL tell her you can't listen to it and go on with your day. And I did. I told her. And she surprisingly was supportive and asks about it all the time now. But it was so nerve racking to build up to tell her. I wish you the best. Though we are adults we hold our parents on this level that makes us go back to thinking like a child or pre teen (well at least I do anyways lol). If you tell them GO YOU!!!! If you don't....GO YOU!!! Because either way its your life and you know what's best and what you need to do to be successful. You got this!!!!
  2. Oh good yay!!!! Im so glad it went well for you! Keep us posted!!!! Best of luck!!! *hugs*
  3. @Lola4rmKona you look amazing!!!! congratulations!!!! love the words of wisdom!
  4. I can totally relate to this! I did exactly this!!!!!!!!!!!! I had no weight requirements and my PCP was so understanding of my weight gain. Two months before my surgery (Sept) I ate absolutely the worst I've ever ate. Like bread w/ every meal. Pasta. Potatoes. Ohmygosh. I can even begin to describe but I felt like you and I thought i needed to. But then I went for my last appointment the weigh in or whatnot its called and realized OMG I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I gained SO much weight! And something like clicked and I left the office and said no more!!!!!! And I did the shake thing and a one small meal thing up to the 2 weeks before the surgery (which is next week btw) and the weight is like coming off so fast already just by eating right! Its crazy. Anywho. Point is. You can do this. We will eat delicious foods again, but this is a tool for us not to eat ALL the delicious foods lol . We got this!!! You got this!!!
  5. you @Beautiful Diamonds look amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! look at you!!!!!! This gives me hope that I may be half as successful as you!!!!!

  10. I'm currently only a C....I get sleeved 10/25/18. I'm scared lol (my ta-ta's are gonna be gone-gone lol lol) Or so my older sister jokes lol lol
  11. This mad my day! You will go to The Hell!!!!
  12. Seems like you are ready!!!!!!!!! Woop Woop!!!!!! Good luck
  13. Man, thank you so much for your honesty. That's what I'm scared of. I don't want to get the sleeve and then turn around and get the bypass bc I basically failed w/ it. I've heard some stories where the sleeve wasn't "strong" enough so to say to stop people from over eating and basically they feel right back into the same life style. And I personally know someone who had the band, worked very well, but then he slowly just started eating bad again and gained ALL the weight back plus some and now is a horrible diabetic! Just scary. But thank you! I'm sure I'll figure it out.... xoxox
  14. Thank you!!! Yes ma'am I have done a TON of research and I just want what's best for me in the long run. To be successful at keeping off the weight and less diabetic stuffs lol for lack of better words lol lol Luckily I have never had any acid problems or GERD but I like the less invasive procedure to do the sleeve.
  15. Ummm yes LOL. I started this WLS journey like a year and a half ago. Its complicated but the surgeon recommended bypass at that time. I stopped the process due to an injury and then started back up. I want the cost covered the surgeon evidently works for multiple hospitals not just ours. I was never told hey we aren't going to cover the cost bc we cant perform it here, and then the office lady didn't realize that the doctor had recommended the bypass and just submitted for the sleeve bc that's what's she thought I was seen for. So its an ugly complicated mess. No GERD. Or acid issues that I know of. Just diabetic. High blood pressure. Retinopathy. And all the other fun things you get being over weight, and a diabetic basically your whole life lol
  16. I needed this today. Thank you
  17. @MargoCL thank you!!!! I sure will update once I know what's going on lol. Its been a journey already and I haven't even had the surgery lol lol
  18. Ok, (sigh) So BCBS has approved my surgery which I thought was for the Gastric Bypass. However the office attendant failed to file correctly and she submitted this for the sleeve. Some may think OH! A simple fix! ....No. Its not. I work for a string of hospitals and one of the perks is getting this surgery paid for minus one very small fee. ...Well if I get the Gastric Bypass it cannot be preformed at my hospital and they will have to out source which mean....I'll now be paying deductible and coins and copay... This was all just told to me btw once she realized she filled incorrectly. So to my question. Has anyone gotten the sleeve and regretted it thinking they should have gotten the bypass? My doctor is out right now and of course I'll go w/ his suggestions but I wanted to get a feel on any one else's personal opinions. Thanks for listening! .
  19. Oh there are so many! Roller coasters or amusement parks right now I'm scared to step foot into one due to getting to embarrassed a couple years ago. Sky diving w/ my wife. She wants to go so bad and unfort doesn't understand that I'm simply not able to do because of my weight. Hiking. Being able to physically keep up w/ my family members at outings! Gah. The list could go on.
  20. Just got the email..... SURGERY IS APPROVED AND SCHED FOR 10/25/18!!!!!!!!! Gah, I'm so nervous and excited and idk what else I'm feeling hahahahaha. Any suggestions , like anyone pre shop for vitamins or foods? Or prepare their kitchen? Like did you throw out unhealthy food to resist temptations?
  21. @sleevemebaby7781 for sure we will!!! Do keep in touch!!!
  22. @BAC47310 GOOD LUCKKKKK!!!! I am still pending BCBS approval I've resubmitted paperwork twice now! Uhg.
