Happy banders
Looking to connect with people that have had their band a while and are still happy with it! I’ve had mine for 12 years! Sw 314 Lw 170 Cw 223. I’ve gained some back and wanting to find some support to help refocus.

13 years later and - I Love my band
Haven’t been on in forever. Nice to see some bandsters still out there. I’ve had mine for almost 12 years. No major problems but keep it a little looser to avoid reflux. With that being said, I’ve also gotten looser with my food and I’ve gained about 50 lbs. ready to refocus and commit again.

Lap band fitted and filled, but my stomach holds as much as before!
Be patient and continue with fills if you think you need them. You are still pretty early in the game. Are you starting with solid protein and then eating your veggies and last is the carb? Go slow and really listen to when you are satisfied and not full.

11 years in May for me! I keep my band a little loose due to some reflux....unfortunately that means I can eat anything. Been trying to do ww but then I thought ....hey just use this toool that you have. It’s been so long since I’ve eaten like a bandster I’m having to really think about it. Your Heart's Desire
Great article jean! Really got me thinking about what I spend the majority of my time thinking about. And sadly right now it is still food! I want health and family to push through to the top! But I have no idea to make the food thoughts go away. Just keep trying Day by day is all I can think.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
I was banded on May 13th and have lost 24 lbs. I have advanced to a pretty normal diet and my scale hasnt moved in a few days...:thumbdown:I'm hoping it is just my body adjusting to the added foods. I hope I will get a fill on the 26th when I go for my visit. I can tell each day, that I am able to eat more and more, so I am really trying to "control" my portions.....

ww and the band
I had my band done on May 13th (Love it) In years past, I was successful on ww, I also thought it was very healthy (just had trouble sticking with it,,,hence the band) Does anyone use ww with their band? It is so much easier for my brain to think points instead of calories. Also, as far as carbs go,,I know we are supposed to avoid them, but is it because theyare bad for our band or are they just too high in calories? If so, what about the whole wheat pasta, and whole grain bread?? Thanks so much for the advice!!

Tomorrow's the day!!
Hooray! My surgery is first thing tomorrow morning!! I'm very excited and nervous...I haven't packed one thing...it's been a strange day. I've been very tired (prob. due to the low cal liquid pre op) and I dont really know what I need for my hospital visit. It's supposed to be outpatient and I have to be there at 5 a.m. which means we will leave home around 3:30!! Any advice??
