  2. Hi Pam I was wondering how does a fill work ? Is that surgery ? How often do you need to get them ? Anne
  3. I have been all set on the lapband but now that I've read all these blogs I'm thinking gastric bypass might be the way for me. I'm having a hard time deciding. My BMI is 43. I've been heavy all my life except when I'd lose a few lbs just to put it right back on. I want to be able to keep up with my hubby and kids, right now I can't . I'm just so terrified of the health risk. I want to hear from you people who have had gastric bypass. I want to know all about your experiences, good and bad. I just want to make sure I make the right decision for me. Thanks everyone ! Edie
  4. Hi Ella, I was just wondering how your experience was being banded and how much weight you lost so far ? I haven't been banded yet so I'm just curious. :)Anne
  5. That is wonderful to hear. How was the healing process after the surgery ?
  6. Thats a really good verse !
  7. Hi Numbrgirl, I was wondering if you went threw medical insurance to get your band. I live in Riverside also and I'm just starting the long process of trying to get approved threw my insurance for the lapband. Thats wonderful the weight you've lost so far, what a blessing the lap band is to so many people. I'm praying and praying that I will be able to get it soon. Hope to hear from you soon :tt2: Anne
  8. I hope they do
  9. Oh wow, thanks for all the info. That's great that you are happy with your band. I wish you all the success and happiness that comes with it. I am really excited to start the program at Kaiser. Right now alls I can do is pray that they will cover the lapband. I'll know more at my first appt on the 22nd. I totally agree with you about gastric bypass. I don't want to have that done but I'd like to learn allot more about it before I make my final decision, if it comes to that. I'm 320 lbs. I have three children under the age of 10 and there is so much I want to do with them that I just can't do because I'm to heavy and insecure. It breaks my heart. I've tried everything and I have lost weight but only to put it back on. I feel like this is my only hope, so I do understand how it is worth every penny. Its really nice to hear success stories and to be able to make friends on this website. Thank you for your support and keep in touch. I'll let you know how things go at my first appt. :tongue2:
  10. I've just heard that my insurance may not cover LAP-BAND® surgery. I would love to hear from some of you who have had gastric bypass. I'm actually pretty terrified of the thought of having it done. I'd love to hear your stories. Anne
  11. Thanks for the help ! I'd love to hear how your experience being banded was and how much did it cost if you don't mind me asking ?

  13. Oh gosh, I hope that's not true. I haven't been to my first appt yet. Its on the 22nd but I know that when my doctor gave me the referral he did say lapband. I would be terrified to actually get gastric bypass. Its so hard to not get my hopes up about lapband but I guess ill find out more on the 22nd. I'll keep in touch and let you know what I find out.
  14. Hello all, I have an appt. on Jan 22nd for the LAP-BAND® orientation. My doctor has already sent the referral and now I need to take the bariatric surgery prep coarse. My BMI is over 42. I have high cholesterol and even though I am fine right now I have suffered from high blood pressure for about ten years. I have an appt. on the 12th to be tested for sleep apnea (my mom suffered from sleep apnea) and I have bad joint pain. All the other stuff like diabetes, heart disease run in my immediate family. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who is going threw the program in Riverside county with Kaiser. I live in Menifee and was just wondering what my chances are of getting approved. I'm so excited but I am also nervous that it wont happen. This is a wonderful website ! I look forward to chatting and getting to know you all. Anne
