  1. Lots of happy childhood memories running rampant outdoors with my two little sisters and our dog. East Texas in the 80s! Also, my favorite perfume is Chloe Nomade. So expensive I can only buy the tiny bottles but I love it so it's worth it. It's the perfume that finally got me to switch from my old stand by, Chanel Allure. I feel like a new woman when I wear it
  2. My ideal morning: Alone time Coffee Snuggles from my little girls ❤️ (and the kitties)
  3. Ok, low carb Chinese Chicken salads for meal prep. Each of these trays are 2 servings for me. I can usually eat the whole serving but sometimes I leave behind some cabbage. In the baggies are grilled chicken, toasted almonds & sesame seeds, homemade sweet sesame dressing. One of my favorites!
  4. My favorite takeout meal, carnitas tacos! This is the after - I just eat the filling. These 3 will last me 3-4 meals depending if I add any veggies in. I like to make a lime slaw to go with it: Thinly sliced Napa cabbage & cilantro with dressing of: zest & juice of 3 limes, pinch salt, 2T olive oil, tiny squirt liquid splenda. I like to dress it about an hour before I eat it so it can slightly soften the cabbage. Great for meal prep because cabbage is so sturdy
  5. Ok, I really fizzled out on Feb...ate lots of junk food and *surprise* didn't make my weight loss goals, smh... I'm 6 1/2 months post bypass, weighing 215. Trying to break the poor eating habits that have creeped in and get below 200. I'd describe myself as compassionate, argumentative and intelligent! Also, had to do a double-take on @greenteleal 's water bottle. I thought that thing was a bottle of vodka and I got REAL confused for a sec!
  6. Round 2 of coffee shop lunches... Avocado toast with lemon ricotta and fresh amazing olive oil! It was enormous - I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it before I ordered it but I was hoping to scrape off and eat most of the avocado and ricotta. I think I ate too much of the bread I'm a sucker for a darkly toasted artisan bread...
  7. Been working at coffee shops last couple of days and am finding some real gems for lunch! It's nice to mix it up sometimes instead of just eating my same old routine foods. That being said, I get so nervous when I eat new foods now because I'm not sure what hidden sugar is in there or how it's going to agree with me. I used to be so adventurous! ? But look where that got me... This is an amazing kale salad with marinated chickpeas, pistachios, avocado and a yogurt-harissa dressing. It was fantastic!!! Did not take an after photo - I was elbow to elbow in a hipster coffee joint and it was making me self-conscious. But I ate the majority of the chickpeas, all the avocado and some of the kale. No bread.
  8. Getting my car repaired today and headed to the nearest coffee shop to wait 4 hours. Had some great food options. I chose this: whole grain toast, white bean puree, avocado, fried egg, house made hot sauce This pic was after I started but you can tell what size it was. I finished half of the toast part but ate all of the egg and avocado.
  9. FEB 12: I am creative and it comes out in many ways. One of them is my baking and homemade bday decorations! My daughter's 7th bday was space themed this year. Also, for the record, I am also doing the writing prompts but keeping them private. I'm more honest about things if I do it that way.
  10. FEB 11: These are the people I love most in the world
  11. FEB 10: I only wear makeup about twice a week so although this is my regular face, I never take pics without makeup. I wish I could wear it every day because its fun but my skin has been changing over the last couple of years and it gets angry if I do that
  12. Yes! Please do. I made the mistake several years ago of not telling my personal trainer I'd had a recent laproscopic surgery because it was fertility related and I didn't want to discuss it. The belly button incision seemed to be sensitive for months longer than the other spots. Turned out I had an umbilical hernia from lifting too heavy and using my abs too soon. 4 years later, I finally had it repaired when I had my gastric bypass. Brutal recovery. You can bet I've been very careful since and I always wear my weight belt. ?
  13. Both. You want to pay attention to volume because your capacity is limited. Stick with the volume amounts your team has given you. I was instructed to eat about 2-3 fluid ounces per meal/snack initially. You probably already know that increases over time as you tolerate it. However, in order to track nutrition, you need to know how much your food weighs so you can accurately log it. Are you using My Fitness Pal? You can sometimes find ingredients by volume but usually it's by weight for non liquid items. For practical purposes, I eyeball the volume and weigh it on the scale.
  14. You are correct! She's also getting pretty bossy in her old age, 14yo.
  15. Colette is always ready for a cat appreciation thread ❤️
  16. Ummm, I'm going to need to see some other no makeup selfies before I post mine, guys
  17. Oh, yes! Did you make that, where can I get some?!
  18. Wow! I'm making a grocery list this minute!
  19. Pho or Japanese ramen are perfect for restaurant meals or takeout. Really early on, I would just have the broth. Later in the process I would puree the meat/veg into the soup at home. Then I progressed to just pulling out the meat and dicing up the larger pieces. I still eat it about once a week now but the only thing I skip are the noodles. So delicious!
  20. Hi, those items were also OK per my team. However, I elected not to eat food that was primarily carbs. It wasn't a weight loss issue because that's so early but, for me, any food that was higher in carbs proportionately caused me to have major cravings even at that early stage. You might just see how you do and consider adjusting that if you find they exacerbate cravings for you. For example, from your list I would cut the oatmeal & applesauce. Congrats on your success!
  21. I set my initial goal weight at 145 which would put me right around a BMI of 24. I do want to get to that weight but the last time I was there I was in high school and I was "skinny fat". Basically, I was thin but I never exercised and ate crappy, not strong or muscular, etc. So, now I'm 104 lbs down, with still 72 lbs to go. I weight train 4x weekly and have great muscle retention per my team. I think I'm going to be waaaay too thin at 145. I'm going to do it and see when I get there. But if I have to fight tooth and nail to maintain that weight once I get there even when sticking to my plan, that tells me it's too low. Right now, I fit easily into my wedding dress and I currently weigh 25lbs MORE than I did when I originally wore it. And it was snug. We shall see what happens!
  22. One of my favorite things to do is play in the snow. This is our snow cricket We got really excited and got out there as soon as there was a sprinkle of snow on the ground!
  23. I love her! She was part of an exhibition here last summer and it was amazing. My daughters and I saw it together. We went back twice while it was in town. Powerful.
  24. I had not thought about it but that's a great idea❤️
