    Stretching the pouch

I've seen a "pouch reset" diet that I'm looking to follow. The info is available on the Bariatric Pal store site. https://store.bariatricpal.com/pages/pouch-reset-plan Sent from my SM-G975U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone repulsed by sugar now?

I had surgery 10/22. I used to drink the Vitamin water zero, but now find them too sweet. Unsweetened applesauce is my sweetness limit so far. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Ready to go

Thanks everyone!! Doing good today! Monday was rough. I was sore and slept (in and out) all day. I couldn't eat much and was nauseous and dry heaving once. Doc decided to keep me an extra night, and I was grateful. Liquids went down easier yesterday and even more so today. I should be heading home today. Pain is much improved, except when I cough! Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed!

    Pre op diet

Mine is a 2 week plan. First week is 2 protein shakes per day plus 1 meal (4-6 oz lean meat and 1 1/2 C vegetables). I'm now on week 2, which is 4 protein shakes per day. Of course lots of water/clear liquids. I can also have broth, SF Jell-o and SF popsicles. I've had no hunger issues or cravings. (Yay!) Surgery is Monday! How fast can I bounce back?

My surgery is also October 22nd. We'll have to compare recovery. I don't work, but my 9mo old grandson is physically exhausting!! I'm sure my recovery will be slower due to age and physical limitations. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. I gained 6 lbs, but my first visit was last Sept!! I should have been done in June. My surgeon's office messed up and never scheduled the nutrition classes I needed. My bypass surgery is on Monday, 10/22. My surgeon scolded me, but I bit back and told him about his staff and their error, which they had admitted why everything was delayed. Also, since I started this I've seen my daughter pregnant and have her baby, my son got married in April, and my daughter got married in May. All in another state, so I traveled by car a lot! I developed a DVT from the traveling, which has since resolved. I've had steroid injections in both knees and my neck. He scolded me and told me I owed him 6 lbs by my surgery date. Whatever!! It could have been worse. I'm down over 11lbs today and ready for Monday. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Pre op Liquid Diet

I'm on day 10 of pre-op diet, now on 4 protein shakes and clear liquids each day. Doing great! No cravings, not even jealous of the family's meals. Surgery is Monday, 10/22. #newlife Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hospital bag

My surgery is now postponed until Oct, but thanks for the packing recommendations. Never too early to start preparing.
  10. I'm new to this site, just found it today! I've gone through the 6mos of dr visits, etc, and have already been approved for gastric bypass. I'm frustrated with my surgeons office. I was on track to have surgery in May, but they dropped the ball by not scheduling me for the required pre-surg classes. Now I'm 10 wks out from a big vacation and still not scheduled for surgery. I was hoping to be 4 months post-op and able to walk better with weight loss. This really has me down and I've decided to postpone my surgery until Oct. I haven't told them yet. I'm waiting for the call to schedule pre-op testing and will tell them then. It took years to finally be mentally ready for this surgery and now I'm so unsure of what to do.
