  1. So most preop diets are there for 2 reasons... to see if you will comply after surgery and to shrink your liver. Doing Keto high fat, low carb isn't going to shrink your liver. I can lose like crazy in Keto but it always comes back as soon as I am out of Keto. You can reach Keto without the high fat when you do liquids.
  2. I have the gelatein. I like it frozen better. It was thinner than my Hunts sugar free jello.
  3. Have your doctor write a prescription for medical necessities. If you bring liquid protein you may need it at the airport too. It's a medical requirement for nutrition. We went last year. There are tons of food options so you should always have something you can eat.
  4. Necter unflavored with Mios/Crystal lite or in broth/cream of soup, Bipro water, New Whey Protein Shots. You can also add Faifa milk or Orgain almond milk with your powder to make it more palatable and get extra protein.
  5. My Surgery was Wednesday 6/13. They put a nausea patch behind my ear before surgery and gave me reglan. I had one complication from the anesthesia-- couldn't pee! So I had to have a catheter overnight. They pulled it and the drains yesterday 6/14 and I am home. Otherwise all has been good. I haven't been sick or in too much pain. Just sore. Drinking Life Water has been a breeze. I crushed my meds and I had a cramp and pain when I took them. Two ounces of pear juice and I definitely knew it and had a slight cramp. Not taking the pain meds during the day now. Plan to return to work Monday for my desk job.
  6. I’m okay gas is getting better. Only problem is keeping down fluids I hope you feel better! I'm following because we have so much in common and you will be one week ahead so I'm really cheering you on!!!
  7. Thanks, I'm using necter unflavored powder, bipro water with them or vanilla premier protein. Spoke to my nurse and she said wait till I have had some vegetables with fiber before trying any fruit after surgery so 3-4 weeks and just to make sure they fit the rules. Now I am 4 days from surgery they want me on full liquids. I did make a Premier protein Caramel with a cup of black coffee and ice in the blender and it was great. They are just too sweet for me. The necter is fine in broth, yogurt and my cream of 98% fat free soups. I'm having my surgery because my comorbidity is my liver/bile duct and I already needed surgery for that. This surgery I pray keeps me from having liver problems anymore. They already had to cut into and staple my stomach so why not? I'll be glad when June is over and I feel normal again. 500- 600 calories a day leaves little energy to do much!
  8. I'm nervous - 6/13 is my day.
  9. I am also a hater of protein supplements. I can get them down pretty well in a mean green or mixed berrie smoothie (I keep the fruit at 80 cals or less). What's everyone's experience on when after surgery I can start making them again with my nutrininja?
