  1. I had surgery 12/18/18. It hasn’t been a piece of cake but it’s gone pretty well I think. I didn’t have any anesthesia issues. So far no nausea no vomit ?. Knocking on wood. ❤️❤️ I am still mostly liquids. Or purée in limited quantities of course. I still struggle daily with getting in all my water and protein. But so happy the surgery and the waiting is over. ❤️. Happy to be part of the December sleevers!

  7. Omg. I was disappointed at first when I finally got approval. Then the hospital I was going to was out of contract with my INs company. So I was in limbo. Then a miracle happened followed by another. I called and got one last spot. So I a scheduled for December 18. I’m nervous excited. More excited than nervous but it changes every hour. Can’t wait to get it done.
  8. I started my journey in May. I have completed the 6 months my insurance required for nutrition counseling. Now just waiting for approval and a surgery date. I have done a few days of intermittent liquid fast days to prepare. I’m nervously excited. Hoping that I get a date for surgery this year. Possibly December. I’m checking in on Monday to lake sure. I’ll feel at ease getting a date. Lots of arrangements needed to lake at work etc. good luck to all.
  9. I have all the same desires. Desperately waiting for a surgery date. The insurance company is taking all 15 days they are allotted to come to a decision. Omg. The waiting is a pain. I’m hoping to get one of the last few spots they have in December. So fingers crossed. Good luck to you.
  10. Oh. Wow. Glad you are ok. Now that you know you have MH you’ll have to remember and tell them for all future surgeries. And it can be hereditary. Fingers crossed that it’s smoother sailing after now. Can’t wait for updates. Take care and stay hydrated.
  11. That’s so encouraging. I hate hearing everyone’s opinion that this will be hard, or you need to make this change forever or you’ll gain it all back. Omg. Thanks for the support. But to know that change is possible and we do get the opportunity to change for life. I’m looking forward to making this a life changing event and not going back. Hugs and cheers to you!!!!

  15. @var4795. Maybe try the mimeo type liquid flavors so you can control the amount. I’ve liked them so far. I even tried different brands. I’m looking forward to getting a surgery date. ❤️
  16. I have not had surgery yet but all the info I have gathered in preparation tells me the new smaller stomach needs To heal and that takes a while. something as chunky as FOOD could cause damage and or just problems. ?. My doc requires liquids then a certain amount of time purée food then solid in tiny amounts of course.
  17. I am losing a friend. My pal who is my main support Wendy!!! She weighs about what I need to lose. So I keep telling her I’ll be happy when I lose a tiny person. ???
  18. @irish_sleever. I know how you feel. I didn’t want to tell anyone but I work in the medical field. I did manage to keep it from my family (except hubby who is totally behind me). I’m waiting on insurance approval and that damm phone call I feel will never come. I’m hoping for. November but will be happy with December as long as it’s this year. Good luck!!!!! We got this.

  20. Hi. I am still waiting for approval. Hoping to get a date in NOV. Dec at the latest. Of course having met my OOP for my insurance I don’t want to start over next year ?? so fingers crossed. I have been trying IF to prepare. I notice lots of different pre Surg diets and post surg diets. I guess every surgeon has developed his own plan that works. For me, when I get the date for surgery, I will do a 10 day liquid diet before. I am hoping the IF I am doing now will prepare me. I although it seems impossible to really prepare. Good luck ?? everyone.
