    Apps

I'm using the Livestrong MyPlate app to track my food and the Happy Scale app to track my weight. MyPlate is pretty simple and gives you a pie chart of your macros on the front page.
  2. First day of puree diet!  I blended together four small pre-cooked meatballs with a couple tablespoons of marinara sauce and some Italian seasoning, and it was better than I expected.  I also mashed some canned carrots, but I could only eat about six or seven bites of the meatballs before I could feel myself getting full.

Wasn't it wonderful to taste real food? I did something similar with meatballs. It was one of my go to foods.

Sounds delish! I’m currently still on the full liquid diet stage. Enjoy!

That's awesome! I should have done something like that. I survived on soups. My first food in the soft stage was meatloaf and I went at 12:01am to a 24/7 deli... I was so impatient. I tried to puree some rotisserie chicken with gravy... omg... that was a nightmare!

  3. Are you still taking any pain meds that make you drowsy? I did nothing but sleep and sip water for a few days after surgery, but once I started weaning off the hydrocodone, it started to become easier to stay awake.

    Anyone else HATE Protein Water?

I only suffered through protein water the first week after surgery. I poured a Premier Protein clear drink into my 32 oz jug and filled the rest with water to dilute it, and it wasn't too bad.
  5. I tried Premier Protein, but it just absolutely doesn't work for me, so I've been having a lot of the Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt, cream soups, sugar free pudding, and a lot of water.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

From what other people have said on the forum, we don't really feel restriction until the soft food phase, when we're actually putting solids into our stomachs.

    Today is the big day!!!

    Good luck!

    Vitamins post op- how soon?

It definitely depends on your surgeon. Yesterday was one week post op, and they said I could start the chewable multivitamin and not worry about any of the additional supplements for now.

Any June 2018 Sleevers in Here?!

I started full liquids yesterday and I haven't had any trouble drinking an 11 oz protein shake or eating 1/2 cup of Greek yogurt, so I think we're both doing fine.

15 days post op and can drink 11oz of Protien Shake

I came on here with the exact same question as OP, and this is just what I needed to hear. I was worried about not feeling much restriction with full liquids like Premier Protein or yogurt. Thanks!

    Saying hello

    Congrats on the surgery!
  12. A lot of people on the forum say that it's taken them weeks or months to reach 64 oz of water in a day, but I'm four days post-op and I'm having no problem reaching it. Is this normal? I guess I'm just going through the phase where I'm paranoid about stretching my stomach out, but I just want some reassurance!

Is it too easy to drink my water?

I'm not using the camelback yet, I'm just using the 32 oz jug I got from the hospital.

Is it too easy to drink my water?

    Thank you!
  15. Four days post-op now, and the funniest part of all of this is that every night, I've dreamt about eating...

    Pre Op Diet

I don't think it's too bad if you stay away from food and stay hydrated. Instead of thinking about how much you might want food, think about how excited you are for the surgery and how it'll change your life. Good luck!

8 hrs post op - NOT what I expected

Yeah, it sucks at first. I'm two days post-op though, and it gets better very quickly. Good luck!

    Hospital must haves

MOUTHWASH!! It feels amazing after surgery when your mouth is dry and has a horrible taste stuck in it. Just don't be dumb like I was and gargle it, you'll end up swallowing some on accident.

    IT HAPPENED!!!!

I'm feeling pretty good now! I'm definitely low on energy, so I'm getting plenty of sleep, but I'm in little pain and I'm able to stay hydrated. I hope you're doing well!

    any June Sleevers??

Thank you! I was able to start walking the same day as my surgery, but I was having some trouble keeping liquids down. Yesterday and today it's going much better, I can walk around my house while sipping water constantly.

    IT HAPPENED!!!!

Congratulations! It sounds like recovery is going amazingly well for you! My sleeve was yesterday morning, and there was no way I had enough energy to post on Bariatric Pal after it. I hope everything works out well for you!

    JUST GOT SURGERY DATE!!!

I was sleeved yesterday morning. In the recovery room after surgery, I was in pretty bad pain, but it didn't last long and it got exponentially better from there. Some people have more nausea than others, and I just happen to be one of those people, but it should be easily avoidable if you don't try to walk around and sip water back-to-back or sip too much at a time. Also make sure to sip any meds they give you and you should be fine. At this point, I'm pain-free! Even if I wasn't taking the hydrocodon prescribed to me, I don't think I would be in that much pain anyway, maybe just some discomfort. Overall, there are times of pain, but you feel 10x better each day after the surgery. Good luck! P.S. bring mouthwash with you to the hospital, it's amazing for right after surgery.
  23. About 36 hours post-op and I'm feeling surprisingly well.  My sister, who had the sleeve in December, told me that she wasn't even able to walk this soon after surgery, so I'm thinking that this is part of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery program that my surgeon is part of.  Now I'm mostly worried about keeping myself hydrated tomorrow.

Glad you are feeling better than expected! The only advice I have for the water you've probably heard before - keep water on hand and take small sips as often as possible. :)

@SydneySleever Thank you! I have my 32 oz jug of water that I'm carrying around with me all day.

  24. One day post-op... wow I was really hurting yesterday.  I dry heaved three times, so don’t try to sip water and walk around back-to-back.  I’m doing better now, there’s a lot less pain and I’m able to sip without throwing it up.  Surprisingly, I’ve had no problem sleeping, but I don’t know if that had anything to do with any residual anesthesia in my system.  Luckily I’ll be discharged within the next hour.

Did you only spend one night in hospital?

    3. sleevedinschool

@Sophstar Yes, I only spent one night. Today I'm able to walk around with minimal pain. You really do feel exponentially better every day with this surgery.
