  1. My Dr said ibuprofen was ok temporarily for post op pain but I found Tylenol enough!
  2. Oh me too! I’m just over a week out and afternoon naps are my friend! I was never a napper pre op. I find my energy runs out fast! I think that is totally normal.
  3. Ok, never thought of it that way regarding fat burning! Thanks for your input!
  4. Thank you for responding! Your right about losing weight under these conditions are less then ideal, I feel like it’s basically starvation at this point! It’s a chore to get all liquids in daily. I am hoping once I get on real food this will get better?
  5. Was just curious if your hunger signals change after surgery? So far I haven’t had my traditional hunger pains like stomach growling, just seem to have an empty feeling that is hard to describe? I don’t know if this will change down the road when I’m back on solids or if this is the new normal? Anyone else experience this?
  6. Mine was July 5 th as well! So far so good! Which surgery did you have?
  7. I’m 61, just had RNY July 5/18. Been really sore, like someone kicked me in the stomach but getting better every day. I already hate the protein shakes cause they are so sweet along with protein water, sugar free popsicles, SF jello too much sweet. Need to mix things up a bit. Had some strained thin Low fat cream of mushroom soup last night and it finally felt like I had some real food!
  8. That’s good to hear! Mine is Thursday, nervous ?
  9. I do have a Ninja and it works great! Costco had a really good price on Vitamix on the weekend and watched the demo and yes it does mix so smooth with little effort!
  10. Good to know! Thank you for responding.
  11. July 5 th. I have had mixed emotions but seem to be getting calmer as it gets closer.
  12. Welcome! Looks like we are the same age! It’s been a long haul but finally it’s just a few days away now for me! Good luck to you!
  13. There seem to be a fair amount of revisions from sleeve to RNY because of the same issues?
  14. Welcome! I have learned so much from the people on BP. So did you get a revision?
  15. Yes, that was what I was thinking too! It would be good for purée for sure!
  16. Oh wow, I can’t even imagine what you have been through. Your boss has no right to stop you from going back to work because you gained weight it might even be illegal? I’m so sorry for your loss. Maybe someone else can give you some guidance who is familiar with employee rights in your area? Good luck to you.
  17. These diet plans seem to be all over the map!
  18. I was told avoid caffeine because it can cause acid problems and can dehydrate you, but caffeine free is ok. I think this is just while your stomach is healing and pre op so you can get the headaches behind you before the surgery?
  19. Hello all. Was thinking about getting a Vitamix hoping it will be useful for post op diet. Anybody have one and if so are you getting your moneys worth from it? Thank you!
  20. July 5 th here! I think we have the same date? Although I see this was posted on the sleeve forum I’m going for RNY cause of GERD.
  21. I had a leak, at the anastomoses of esophagus and duodenum, everything I sipped or swallowed went into the abdominal cavity and I had to have a second surgery 3 days later to washout the abdomen and fix the leak, an exploratory laparotomy, and ended with 5 drains, 2 which drained abscesses and a NG tube, antibiotics for the infections... I did the research and understood DS may have great results at weight loss, but higher % of complications compared to other WLS...like the loose stools and gas..I’m still on antibiotics but feeing better each day! Thankfully your on the mend, sounds like you had a rough few weeks, sorry you had to go through that but sounds like things are getting better so that’s good!
  22. Oh no! What type of complications did you have, if you don’t mind me asking? Glad your home. Congrats on the weight loss!
  23. I know this is an old post but this so applies to me right now being less then a week away from surgery. I feel all these things you wrote about. I wonder how you are doing 3 years later? I’m so glad this thread was revived!
