  1. Thanks. I appreciate your comments and on line support.
  2. 28 days ago I had my sleeve done. After 1 year of getting ready for it, the day finally arrived. My significant other well lets just say he isnt very emotionally intelligent and over the last 13 years I have been with him through 11 medical procedures he needed some were in hospital some were out patient. I always put him first , and took care of him what ever he needed. I am really getting very frustrated I feel he is just in my way of healing now, not physically but mentally and emotionally. He is not emotionally supportive at all, I really am in this all alone. I try to stay positive, I have made a major life change and rather than him having my back he would rather rant and rave with his emotional outbursts. I try to be patient as I know he struggles with some mental health issues. There are just those days when I want to say Seriously do you have any clue what I have just gone through and what I continue to go through. I am so drained when I wake up in the morning,. I need time to just get my head on right. I immediately take care of our Dog, getting her fresh water, food and take her out to do her business. I then try to get my vitamins and meds in me, drink some liquid and take my blood glucose. But then here he comes complaining there is nothing to eat for breakfast...........which translates to he wants his huge hot breakfast eggs, bacon, toast or grits etc which now just the smell makes me ill. If he doesnt get his way then he is just moody and very short tempered all day. So to avoid the constant emotional rollercoaster, i stop what I am doing and make breakfast, I sometimes then forget to take meds or vitamins, it takes me longer to get ready in the morning, not as quick since the surgery as I was before. Yes I know I should kick him to the curb ( and I only stated a mild case ) but financially I cant afford to do that right now, I am really stuck with him. SORRY just needed to say this "out loud " I am just emotionally exhausted from him. Thank you anyone that reads this. I appreciate the listening ear
  3. WOW HOORAY AWESOME WELL DONE GOOD FOR YOU YOU ROCK WHAT A GREAT VICTORY HIGH FIVES SMILES HAPPY TEARS
  4. I was given RX of Omeprazole 20 mg 1x morning 1 x evening. You can look into prilosec OTC is the same as the Omeprazole but double check with a doctor to be 100 % sure .
  5. I can so relate. I am very similar to what you said. My surgery was April 23. I literally was a ball of tears on Saturday just tired of being tired as nothing stays in me and much is hard to even get down. But then Sunday seemed to be a little better, just a bit of relief I prayed for and I am hoping I am turning a corner. So many folks keep telling me to just hang in there, it gets better, well, I decided I better do just that, no turning back now. I hope you are feeling better very soon and things get more manageable.
  6. I work in the same kind of office Food everywhere I literally mean that I am in Sales for a Food Distributor. I also think we all emotionally eat/ate. 1 month inf from surgery and back to work now my 2nd week I find myself saying. I need to get some nutrition in me. I don't even say food anyone. When I say nutrition it reminds me I am taking care of my body and making good choices. I don't need the comfort foods anymore and they are most likely not good nutrition. Each day I make choices all day long. I could so easily have something I shouldn't but I put myself on this journey and am determined to see it through the best I can.
  7. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I agree GOD IS GOOD. I wish you and the baby the very best of health. Keep us posted on how things are going. Words of encouragement, prayers and sending smiles are always there .
  8. First of All YOU GOT THIS YOU ARE VERY PREPARED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many things you will expect to happen do and some happen you didn't expect........so basically, go with the flow, listen to your surgeon and health providers, YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! While I was in the hospital I completely shut myself off of TV, any social media etc. I just had time to think and rest and concentrate on me. I was taking care of everyone else right up until my surgery ( 28 days ago ) and just being able to be at the hospital and "listen" to my body and understand what was going on was good. Stay Encouraged, you go this far YOU ARE GOING TO DO GREAT . Sending Blessings and Best Wishes.
  9. I was supposed to be in the hospital 2 days ended up 6 days needed 2 blood transfusions. Surgeon said my hemocrit was so low they needed to get my blood back to normal . I didnt have any drainage tubes after the surgery but was filling up with some fluid and blood ( not at the surgery site, in my body cavity ). The transfusions seemed to work good, felt much better
  10. My Surgeon prescribed me Prilosec 2x day for 60 days , said heartburn is very common. Same here with even clear drinks seeming to set it off.
  11. I get immediate severe diarrhea bad headaches and joint pain. I say allergy perhaps an intolerance but either way it's hard to find things without them when you aren't supposed to have sugar. I seem to be ok with Stevia in moderation.
  12. I had my sleeve the same day. My surgeon explained to me that 6 weeks post surgery you are at risk of rupturing that new pouch. Do what they tell you. Try Oikos tripple zero yogurt. its got 15 grams of protein and i was allowed to sub that in for a shake.
  13. Thanks, Yes I have called the Nutritionist, was told to try different things. I see the surgeon in another week
  14. fat free refried beans go down easy. Oikos tripple zero yogurt is packed with protein and no added sugar of any kind.
  15. Most likely its going to take at least 8 months to a year. Don't let that discourage you. After having the surgery 3 weeks ago, I am glad it took a while. Its a big change and new life and you have to give yourself time to wrap you head around what is going to happen in the short and long term. YOU can do this. I have Diabetes and IBS my body was fighting against itself . I can happily say I am almost off all of my insulin , already off of my blood pressure meds. I followed exactly what they told me and I am so glad I did. YOU can do this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I can only tolerate Stevia. Everything sugar free seems to be made with Sucralose ( splenda ) I get violently ill. This has made my journey more difficult as I was limited in the protein shake options ( I used a Plant Based Protein Powder from Six Starr and added Fairlife skim milk . I cannot have sugarfee jello or popsicles . I have recommendations for others who may have similar issues. I did a lot of trial and error. Feel free to inquire
  17. wow you are back so soon. That is amazing. I wish you well. Be careful not to take on too much at once. My surgeon told me that pouch is at risk for 6 weeks after for rupturing. So take it slow and easy. Best of health to you !!!!
  18. I can relate. 3 weeks post op and I feel like everything gets stuck after I swallow. I have tried everything suggested by the surgery team but its not working. Seems like I can only get down Greek Yogurt, Fine curd cottage cheese and FF refried beans. Other than that I feel sick all the time like food is just stuck and wont go down. Hope you can find some relief soon
  19. I am 3 weeks post op. I have only been able to consume cottage cheese, FF refried beans, Oikos tripple zero yogurt and my protein shakes. I have tried several different proteins for the pureed stage, and now in the ground stage. Moving on next two weeks to fork tender protein but I cant seem to get anything down I take very small bites and eat slowly , it all feels like its getting stuck in my Esosphogus. Cant drink anything with the eating so , i keep eating the same 3 things over and over I seem to tolerate. Cant eat any kind of egg they now make me vomit. tried different fine ground meats etc, nothing works getting very frustrated.
