  1. It took me 4-5 "sips" to empty the 1 oz. cup (in my definition of sip)
  2. Welcome and congrats on your success so far! This is a very friendly and supportive community and we're happy to have you join!
  3. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  4. Welcome! This can be a great support group. The people are friendly and helpful and have lots of varied experience that they are willing to share!
  5. Mine was about 10 days, good luck!
  6. Wow, that's a lot of transitions to process all at once. Best of luck on your journey.
  7. Welcome to the boards. It's a very supportive community. Ask and ye shall receive!
  8. I was pretty much daily before surgery. Now I try to limit it to a couple times a week. I only record the date on Saturday morning into my log.
  9. Thanks for an inspiring post! You look amazing. I wouldn't have guessed that you weighed more than 140! Are you 6 feet tall? Congrats!
  10. And don't forget the joy of fitting in auditorium seats for all those school plays and award ceremonies!
  11. First good luck on your surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery! Second, over-achiever or not, give yourself time to heal! Rushing it will only make things worse. Third, don't weigh yourself the first week. It will not be pretty due to all the fluids they give you in the hospital! Fourth, make sure you have some good "before" photos. You don't have to share them with anyone but they're a great reference. You'll be amazed at how your brain will say "I don't think I look that different" and the photos are a kick in the reality! Other than that, please update us as you go along!
  12. Best of luck with the surgery and wishing you a speedy recovery!
  13. Good luck with the surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery! Yeah!
  14. Try for 1/3 or 1/2 the first time. You don't want to make yourself miserable. Good luck!
  15. All the little sips are just in the very beginning, first week or so for most people. That's because your stomach is swollen and mad at you. Gradually your portion sizes increase (in a good way, not overdoing it) and you can eat maybe a third of what you would have eaten at a meal pre-surgery.
  16. Probably just a bit too much. I don't really get a good warning when I should stop until I take one bite too many. Early on, portions are impossibly difficult to estimate. Good luck as you figure out your path.
  17. Did you try to eat the whole egg or just a bit?
  18. That's awesome! I'm so happy for you! Hope you have a speedy recovery!
  19. I am so sorry. (((HUG))) They are definitely a member of the family.
  20. I realized that my glasses no longer leave a dent on the side of my face! Woo-hoo!
  21. I kind of like the idea of the weight-range specific rooms. It is nice to be able to talk to people with a similar path. But, then again, I pretty much like talking to everyone Just try to get me to shut up! Couldn't we do pretty much the same thing just by starting different threads? i.e. maintenance, final 20, 20-100, 100-200, etc.?
  22. Absolutely amazing! Glad your feeling well!
