  1. Wow, sounds like everyone is doing good with little or no problems. I've missed so much here lately. Work like a fool full time and a part time. Went for my 1st fill Wed. and I too do NOT feel any restriction, and like the others feel like I sometimes could eat the A-- off a cow! HopefullyI go back in 2 weeks they will give me another 1.5 cc and I will start to feel something. We all are so very eager to get some of this weight off, but we all need to keep our spirits up and plug away at it. I may bit get to post often but I sure get alot out of the ones I read. This is like a saving grace The April Advengers! Keep up all the great work all of you are doing.
  2. Hey there you all.... Sounds like everyone is doing good and moving right along. I'ts nice to hear about the fills, as mine is coming up 5/28 which will be 1 month post op for me. Still on mushies and doing ok, I did try 1 chicken wing yesterday and had no problems, but I'm not going to move on until I'm supposed to. On my f/u appt. I did tell them that I was sometimes still feeling hungry and she said to pay more attention to the amount of protein you eat, as it stays with you longer. Our program allows 4 oz at each meal also. Keep up the great work everyone!
  3. Congrats, and keep up the good work, was back for my 1st post op and Dr is pleased, and so am I. Down 13 lbs from the day of my surgery, I"m SIKED! he did tell me too that I could go onto the diet directions for week 3, which is now MUSHIE, anything I can mush up with a fork... OH YEA. And yes, I am so dam glad I did this too. Hats off to ALL of you out there. Gail
  4. 1 week post surgery and I'm moving onto the next eating stage which is creamy.. I must also have 2 protein shakes/drinks a day. Can anyone help me with a powder or drink that is not chalky or leaves a nasty aftertaste? Open to suggestions, ideas, recipies... Gail
  5. I am absolutely going to go thru withdrawls when I go back to work, from not being able to get up and get on here and read everyones stories. This web site has been a GOD SEND! We are ALL an inspiration to each other and sometimes I feel I want to write to everyone. ALL you April Avengers are simply marvalous along with all the others that have visited here too. Is it normal to loose alot of weight the first week or so, because.... I'm feelin a little bummed cause I don't think I have lost alot, and I have been so darn faithful. I'm staying positive, and I don't want to be freakie about loosing either.
  6. Greetings from the Space Coast. Newly banded by Dr Mark Fusco @ Lifeshape.net, Melbourne FL. Surgery was Monday 4/28, I'm feeling great, incisions are starting to itch already, my first post op is 5/8. I am on liquids until Sunday, and then I go to creamy stuff, with protein shakes. I too am about OVER the liquids too. I've had alot of burping, something I hardly ever did. I managed to get my ticker, but OMG, please don't ask me how. Now I can't figure out how to change it as I change. Keep posting and keep up the good work. Gail
  7. Banded Monday 4/28 and already my incision sites are itching me and driving me crazy. Not sure what to do either, except itch them gently. You feeling good otherwise?
  8. Just a quick post, 3 days post-op for me and I am felling great. I've needed no pain meds. Sleeping good, walking a lot. I didn't need a robe or anything either, good ole hospital gowns. Incisions looking good, I think all I have are the steri strips, no staples or sutures. Looking forward to getting onto the creamy foods week, even though I'm not hungry, I am wanting some FLAVOR. It's so wonderful to see so many of us doing so good, and out there to support each other. Everyone, keep up the good work, keep posting when you have time. I'm going back to my part time job tonight, and back to my REAL job Monday. Take care all
  9. Hey everyone... I'm banded, was done at noon yesterday, and was back home at 6:30, some minor discomfort, was up walking around, haven't had too much gas "YET" Have not needed to use any of the pain meds that they give you. My after care nurse told me I was a light weight when it came to pain meds... they gave me a liquid shot of it yesterday, and slepted for like an hour and a half. LOL Hope everyone else is doing good and has a successful banding too.
  10. Hey Gina, Surgery went well, I was back home at 6:30last night. Did some walking around the house (blood clots) drank my liquids, went to bed and slept until 4:30 this morning. Now Im pretty much awake for a while, but not a bit hungry.! Was wondering what that"other" RNY thing is? do not think I heard of it. Just keep pluging away and each day that goes by is just another day you don't have to wait. Take care and keep me posted Gail

I'm a full time nurse and I also hold down a part time job several nights a week ( my "FUN" $$$)I't s just my husband and myself, and we get to work together at night, so what else would we be doing except being grouch potatoes...LOL Looking forward to a marvelous journey on the site. God Bless you all Gail
  16. Congrats! I like you must have had a very frustrating journey to approval. Getting any information from the surgeons office was like pulling teeth. I would not even have made my pre- op appointment if I would not have called and asked to know what was going on, and they told me I had an appointment on the 17th, knowing already my surgery was the 28th. I was fit to be tied, and DID NOT want to start off on the wrong foot with the doctor operating on ME! I'm st to go, anxious, nervous, and full of all the other emotions too. I'm ready to start this new chapter in my life. GOOD LUCK, and a wonderful BLOG.
  17. Goodmorning Whaletail, Hope that you are starting to feel better and closing up nicely. Enjoy the new day
  18. Congrats to the new banders! Mine is coming up next Monday 4/28. 1 day at a time and think positive thoughts as we all begin a new life journey. Gail

  23. PIP1973, I think that is great! Keep up the good work. I like seeing success stories along with what everyoe is going thru. I flew thru all my pre-op testing, and I told my BFF, that I was rounding 3rd heading for home plate, I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnell. Keep those messages coming
  24. Thank you and good luck to you!
