  1. wow thanks for doing research for me! i took a pregnancy test during my pre-op visit which was the day before i had sex, i’m not sure if they’ll give me another one the day of. but yes, i would rather see my OBGYN
  2. i thought it only was effective if you’re under like 175lbs or something like that??
  3. i’m convinced your only job on this site is to make everyone laugh ?
  4. yeah, because of the risk of blood clots (i’m on the pill). i mean honestly whatever happens happens, i’m going to get my surgery and hope all is well. i’m only 22 anyways, made a dumb mistake that won’t happen again
  5. well it was 3 times, not once ? i’m not worried about it, i’m more just like “wait omg could my friends be right?”
  6. personal post, but whatever, we’re all adults here. my surgery is on 7/25, but on 7/19 i had unprotected sex. i didn’t really think anything of it, but my friends have me paranoid. i have PCOS and just stopped my birth control a month ago (in prep for surgery- i’ll be continuing it after) so i really didn’t think anything of being unprotected and he did not finish inside me, but now they have me all nervous. do you guys think i’ll be okay???
  7. hey guys! long time no talk, i started my preop diet last wednesday (7/18) and so far have lost 6lbs! my surgery is this wednesday (7/25) and i’m just starting to get a little nervous ? more so for the actual surgery part and being in the hospital than after, which i guess is good! i’m just worried i won’t have lost enough weight, miraculously got pregnant, or didn’t stop smoking soon enough, etc. other than that i am so excited and ready to begin my journey!!
  8. my surgery is scheduled for july 25th, and i go for pre-op blood work on the 18th. i’m feeling a little under the weather (stuffy at night, very slight cough) and i’m worried that they’ll see this on my blood work and it’ll be grounds for it to be postponed? i’ve read stuff about people being sick and having to postpone so i’m just worried?? also if you have tips on how to feel better, hit me with them!
  9. ?? RIP to all my shoes..... that are 100% stretched out to fit my wide feet. though maybe i just have wide feet.... i can hope? for my shoes sake of course
  10. @ashash1 awesome! i’ll have to remember that! have you found that you’ve changed shoe sizes as well (or anyone else on this thread!) that’s one thing i’m curious about. i loooove shoes (prob because they’re easier to buy / fit into than clothes) and if my feet shrink we’re gonna have a big problem on our hands ??
  11. if you’re drinking coffee just make sure to up your water intake!
  12. where did you sell your clothes? i’m not at that point yet, but i have a lot of nice and expensive clothes that are only lightly worn. lots of torrid, michael kors, etc. that even still have the tag on. don’t mind selling for cheaper but it would kill me to just give the clothes to goodwill and have to be buying new stuff on top of that
  13. hm, i never knew! thanks for the responses. i figured a couple of days, but not a week. makes sense pain meds wise, though i’m hoping i won’t need them once i’m home from the hospital
  14. it doesn’t seem too bad! i think blended diet is basically the same as puréed. ill be doing liquids for 3 days then move to blended. also i’m getting the sleeve
  15. hey guys! i was just reading through my booklet from the hospital and it says that they recommend no driving until you’ve had your post-op appointment which is 7-10 days after surgery. now that should be fine and i’ll follow whatever they tell me to, but i’ve never heard this before so i’m just wondering what the general consensus on this is? I’m only taking a week off of work (I nanny, so i’m not really stressed about “going back to work” since it’s easy and i don’t do much, but still?)
  16. i do! preop diet is for a week before surgery. also have to follow a blended diet for 30 days after surgery
  17. well i started my appointments in february and submitted to insurance at my last appointment in june so it’s been fast insurance wise but a process nonetheless! hahaha i’m glad she’s willing to as well, i didn’t want to have to wait. i think being able to eat is more realistic so i’m glad that’s what they have us do
  18. you seriously look like you’re in your 30s! incredible
  19. LOL i’ve said that since the beginning!! i’m like this is just a way to get us used to the diet for after surgery and to lose some weight before surgery as well ? but i have friends in the medical field so i know it really is liver shrinking
  20. hey! i just got my date, july 25th. actually my moms birthday and she was willing to share it with me! (very surprising) i’m pretty excited. i have a blended diet class july 17th and start my preop diet a week before surgery (but still can eat like eggs and chicken so i hope it won’t be too bad since i get to chew!) feeling excited now!!
  21. i start my pre op diet a week before surgery, but can still have food (like an egg or chicken) so i’m crossing my fingers it won’t be THAT bad since i still get to chew
  22. just got my date which is july 25th! very excited
  23. just got my date today, july 25th!
