Is ESG and Gastric plication the same thing?
Well I've heard the difference is they do the plication with sutures and the ESG with some sort of rivets. I base this on Dr Tom Umbach from Blossom Bariatrics on You Tube. He said it is almost impossible to revise an ESG for this reason. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Intro time: who's new to the group, who's pre-op, & who just recently made it to the loser's bench?
Hey @ GerryBhoy, Rosie Queen of. Scots is still active on Bariatric Pal so you have a countrywoman lurking around here somewhere. Scotland Forever! I have Dunn from Dundee in my family tree and Mary Scott, my paternal great-grandmother was born in Edinburgh. I suspect that's where my red hair comes from. Intro time: who's new to the group, who's pre-op, & who just recently made it to the loser's bench?
And you have your head in just the right place. I'm the Bariatric Grandma on here, at least the oldest currently, had a rocky weight loss path that still isn't over, but I'm a tough ole hen, I'm in it to win it -late as I am to the party. I am 72, will be 73 December 26th, BMI of 47, 323 lbs of stubborn chicken fat on a 5ft8in frame, strawberry blonde hair, hazel green eyes and a cantankerous disposition at times. I believe the adage: Fool me once, shame on YOU Fool me twice shame on ME. Well I was fooled once by a Bariatric program at what I thought was a reputable hospital, screwed over my emotions, I'm enrolling in another program this week, and by all that is holy, I WILL get my RnY surgery this time. As Reba Mc Entire says I AM A SURVIVOR. My late mamma, may she rest in peace, used to say "God gave you 2 ears and 1 mouth. This is so you will listen twice as often as you talk!" Well, I didn't take it fully to heart [emoji307] I can talk for hours on most any subject. If you have any bariatric questions, just ask. If I don't have an answer somebody else on Bariatric Pal will. Welcome again, we hope you'll hang with us for a good long time. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

Good to hear you have everything planned, your plans are in place and you're ready to move forward. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

If you're doing math to figure how this could could be, I graduated at 17 although most of my classmates were 18. I had hoped for a phenomenal weight loss before then. As slow as my road has been-- I will be grateful for what I can achieve. It be counting coup if someone would say Oh my God _____ is that really YOU? But yippy Skippy for what happens. At any rate, YOU are looking fine! PS Go,read my newest thread 48 hours to a Day of Hope, it's one of my most heartfelt postings. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

48 Hours to A Day of Hope!!!
In just 2 days I go to take part in a Bariatric Seminar at Ohio State University- Wexner Medical Center. Those of you who have followed my story know I have not had a smooth journey toward Bariatric Surgery, instead it has had as many knots as a paracord Bracelet. One of the biggest and lumpiest was completely finishing all requirements of a bariatic program (at a Center of Excellence hospital, no less) and then having all 3 surgeons refuse to complete my surgery. The excuse I was given (in my mind) holds about as much Water as a minnie bucket so I refuse to given it credence on this forum today. I will listen to their program and speakers with a calm adult attitude, will see if it meets fully with my future plans and desires. But inside me still lurks a 6-year child crying with a broken heart. She keeps saying "Why does nobody love me? I am a good person, a worthy person. Why does nobody love me?"And the adult me wants to hug her, tell her everything will be alright. But I can't, I can't touch her, I can't reach her. So I will sit quietly, all surrounding me will think I am at peace, but inside there will still be turmoil and many unaswered questions. Please my Barifriends bond with me in this endeavor. I believe this is the right time in my life, I am committed for the right reasons, I understand it will not be an easy way out of a complex situation. But I do want to go forward, I realize there will be a lifetime change in my life. Well I do not know how many additional years of life I will be granted but I plan to live them to the utmost of my abilities. I have prayed I be given this 1 more chance-- for it is my intention to work for my future with every breath of my being. I promise to update my story as it plays out in future days. Thank you each and everyone! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
