  1. Work it...work it... Like the siggie April. What do you guys think? The siggy from Arpil or can someone else come up with something. I can't wait to put September Samurai in my signature!! I'm so proud and excited to be with a bunch of future bandsters that are full of optimism!!
  2. Pandagirl ~ whoa...you have been there and then some!! Like you said the 30 pounds that you have to lose will make it so much easier in the long run. You are definately on the move!! I guess we have totally different body shapes...I carry my weight EVERYWHERE, but my waist/stomach. My butt, breast, arms, thighs...so I hope I lose it proportionally. Well if you ever need words of encouragement let me know...I have pom poms.
  3. Thank you all for your replies and support!! I told my hubby and we are discussing it. He wasn't as stand-offish as I thought he would be. But he was out of town when I told him (couldn't hold it off until he came back) and we are going to talk about it some more when he gets home this weekend. Good news!! I have seen the doctor, nutritionist, pysch dr., and Tricare has approved. My surgery date is set for Sept. 15th!! So I'm really excited! David ~ do what is best for you and like you said your wife will follow your lead.
  4. Panda ~ your siggy is confusing what's your story?? You were suppose to be banded 3/08...but it didn't happen?? Inquiring minds wanna know!!
  5. The 80's were a great time...but I'm no 'goth' girl!! I like the September Slutpuppies too!! But I figured if there were guys in the groups it might not fit for them.
  6. Jvato ~ welcome!! and congrats on making the decision. Being there for my kids is one of my many reasons to have the surgery as well. What part of Texas do you live in? I'm in Grand Prairie (DFW area). Having your wife there to support you and also knowing what you are going through is so great!! I bet she is an inspiration to you as well. Take care.
  7. Cobrien ~ I assume you have Tricare?? If so, I also have tricare. They don't ask for confirmation from other doctors for your comorbids. And like Donna said earlier, I'm sure you have back pain because you are overweight, joint pain, shortness of breath. My PCM referred me to my doctor because I had knee/joint pain to the bariatric surgeon. When I completed my paperwork with surgeon, I told them of all the comorbids I had. That was it...no extra weight needed. Good luck!!
  8. Hey all!! I'm in Grand Prairie, Texas (close to Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth).
  9. April ~Congrats!!! Angel ~ Buy it girl...great inspiration and goal.
  10. A lot less ~ My husband will be here with the kids and they go to school during the day. I have absolutely no intention on telling anyone else but my husband. (not my mom, dad, brother) My mom would worry entirely too much!!
  11. Well we voted that we DID want a bandster name to unify since we are all scheduled to be banded in September. The following names were suggested: September Slims September Samurai September Slim Samurai September Samurai Slims September Starlets Sly Septembers September Sizzle September Sable Starlit September September Starlight September Sun September Sunbird September Speckles September Swing Swinging Septembers September Swing Cats Remember September September Liberty September Slutpuppies 'Tember Tummy Tumblers September and the Banshees Please take the time to look over the list and select a name for our unique and distinguished group. I'm sure as September gets closer more members will pop up.
  12. Thanks for voting and the many name suggestions!! Look for the new poll to vote for our bandster name!!!
  13. Congrats!! I'm from Grand Prairie!! Who is your surgeon? Mine is Dr. Ferrara.
  14. panda ~ my goodness woman!! How do you come up with all the possiblities!! I like !!
  15. September Slim Samurai's or September Samarai Slims Like I said...I have no creativity!! All names submitted will be included in the poll for us to vote on...majority wins.
  16. Kiz ~ like both names!! but I really like the September Slims!! Thanks for the suggestion. Other September Bandsters...keep on voting if you want a name.
  17. Toys R us has them in stock...click on the link. Wii Fit Bundle for Nintendo Wii - Toys R Us - Toys "R" Us I'm not sure if they ship overseas.
  18. Christa ~ good luck with your surgery!! Let us know how everything goes. How has your pre-op diet gone? Monica ~ thanks!! Hope to have success like you have!
  19. Blessed1 ~ I have been thinking about it. I want to share this with my husband but really don't need the added drama or stress. But at the same time IF something did happen to me while I was in surgery I would hate for him to get a call from some unknown person about this. So I'm really torn and I have been praying about it. I know I need to suck it up and just tell him. But should I wait until a few days before the surgery (9/15) or tell him now?
  20. I think I would have been mean about my answer...I would have told her yes you do need the surgery but I have the nerve to do it.
  21. skinny ~ well thanks for taking a chance and risking it for me!!
  22. Thanks Donna!! I am going to have the surgery whether he wants me to or not!!
  23. Do they have it online with AAFES? If not, I would love to help out another military wife. My husband is in the Navy.
  24. Congrat!! Take care of yourself and get some rest. From what I heard you need to walk around as much as you can but I'm not sure if that is possible since you just had knee surgery too. But anyway!! Good luck...
