  1. I am on day 6 of my 7 day liquid only diet. I do 3 protein shakes, SF jello, SF popsicles and 1 bowl of broth everyday. I have my moments when I really want solid food but I just grab a popsicle and it takes my mind off it. It's been easier than I thought. Surgery in 2 days.
  2. Depaul Hospital Bridgeton, Missouri on 10/16/2018
  3. OMG 14 days wow congrats! I have to many people to feed to be able to hide it. I'm trying to get them to learn to eat better. 1 hour at a time and trying to stay busy seems to be working. Doesn't help any that the house smells like roast right now....lol
  4. Today started my 7 days of the liquid diet. I'm not really hungry but my head says I want to eat. So I think the hard part for me might be fighting with my head and not my stomach. I have always given to that little voice in my head. I have to stay strong! I WILL stay strong! I want and need this to bad to screw it up this close to the goal. Surgery is within my reach. Countdown begins now.
  5. I'll check there again. I dont remember seeing that kind.
  6. Thanks that's what I'd like to do a variety pack.
  7. Yes I've looked. Looking for suggestions of the best tasting. No chalky textures or bad after taste.
  8. Welcome Greg, I started my journey in April. As of yesterday I am done with my insurance requirements of 4 month waiting period, 4 dietician/nutrisonist appointments and 1 phsych and Pre Op testing. I am scheduled for my bypass on Oct. 16th. Sounds like after thanksgiving you will do your Pre Op testing unless you have more dietician appointments 1st. Good luck with your journey.
  9. Needing suggestions on a great tasting protein powder/meal replacement that wont break the bank. Has anyone use the brands Lady Boss or Natures Bounty?
  10. You are doing the right thing. A new life awaits you! You will do great! I'll be right behind you. My surgery is on th 16th.
  11. Good luck to you. They say it gets easier by the 3rd day. I start mine in 13 days. Surgery on the 16th.
  12. Well I panicked for nothing. They didn't even test me for nicotine. I don't know why. When I asked about it she said if they tested me it would have been a urine test. They only took blood. (Could possibly test me say of surgery) After the pre op testing I had a class about the surgery then I seen another nurse who said my blood results all came back good. Still waiting on the B1 level. So next step is to get through the 7 days of liquid diet. I start that on the 9th.
  13. No. About to find out though...lol
  14. Today I do my pre op tesing. I'm in the final stretch now. Survey scheduled for Oct 16th. I slipped and started smoking again for a couple weeks but stopped last week. Pray I pass the nicotine test. Stressed about the 7 day liquid diet before surgery. I keep telling myself "you got this." Just wanting it done already!
  15. Warrenton, Mo here. About 1hr west of St. Louis. Hoping surgery will be Aug/Sept.
  16. So is this a life long side effect? Or maybe just for the 1st few months. I don't want to be afraid of shitting my pants every time I go out.
  17. I agree with Matt Z. If I had to choose I would gladly take the smelly poop and gas over acid reflux. Good thing I drive a forklift at work so no one can here me fart....lol
  18. My doc explained that its because of the reflux he recommends the bypass. I'm just excited about finally getting this weight off. I'm ready to face all the challenges ahead of my.
  19. Oh good lord...lol. More side effects to look forward to.
  20. Thank you everyone. I have 1 more month of appointments left before we schedule my surgery. Looking like it will be in August. Trying to follow the dieticians recommendations. Excited to start this new chapter in my life.
  21. I went in hoping for the sleeve but doc says with my stomach ulcer it would be best to have the bypass instead. Anyone else told this and if so are you happy with the results?
