    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Great job everyone! I am a month out from my 1 year and have hit my first goal but going to keep going until my body decides to stop losing. It has been slow the past 3-4 months with only losing about 2-3 lbs verses the 12 plus previously but I couldnt be happier. I have lost close to 140 lbs since I started my journey and about 80 since surgery. Keep up the good work everyone!!

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Started at 318 down to 198 and about another 15-20 pounds to goal weight which are coming off slowly but feeling great and could t be happier!
  3. Hi All, 7 month out and I am about 15 pounds away from goal and finally under 200 pounds. Started at 318 and down to 198. My dr stated that getting the last 15 pounds will take some time and now that I am so close to goal. Feeling good and so happy with my decision.
  4. You are doing great. 41 pound since surgery is a great accomplishment and 133 total! MY surgeons office said that on average you can expect to lose 10 pounds per month and you are exceeding that so don't get down. You should also keep track of your measurements, I find this extremely motivating. There have been weeks where the loss is slow but I have lost several inches and can start fitting into a smaller size (yay)!

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

HI, Sleeved on 3/28 and have lost 52 pounds since surgery and the hair loss has been terrible. I have very thick hair and it is just coming out in clumps when I wash it. I discussed this with my NP at my surgeons office and she suggested taking extra biotin and increasing protein intake. It has helped as the hair loss seems to have slowed. I am hoping it nearing the end as she said to expect it for another month or so. For those that are experiencing some stalls, I suggest upping your water intake and your calorie intake (good food choices). Every time I do this it jump starts the weight loss again.

    Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Surgery on 3/28 lost 54 pre-op and 31 pounds post op. The loss has slowed but I have upped my workouts building more muscle. As long as the inches come off and I make it to goal, I am not really concerned.
  8. Hi Ladies, My highest weight was 318 and was at 264 the day of surgery. I am now 232 at 9 weeks post op. I have to agree with a previous poster that sizes dropped slowly at first but now are dropping quickly (10-15 pounds is equalling a drop in size verses 40 pounds plus in the beginning). I really didnt start noticing a difference in my body until people started to comment and even then, I really wasn't seeing it. It only really started to sink in when I emptied my closet and tried on all of my clothes and seeing how large they looked for it to properly click. I think for women it is harder to lose weight in our middle sections so its not surprising that most of us have seen most of our weight loss in our upper bodies and faces. My weight was evenly distributed but aways had a bigger lower stomach which is shrinking but at a much slower pace.

  13. I have three boys, 9,5,and 4 and besides being tired the first week and needing naps, I was able to continue my normal daily routine with them. Having your husband at home the first week will be very helpful to allow you time to rest and get your walking in.

  16. I just finished the final clean out of my closet and I was super upset as I was loading everything into bags to give to good will (some things I just bought not that long ago). I seriously was mourning all of my old clothes that I just can not wear anymore. I couldn't believe that I had dropped so many sizes so quickly. As I was trying stuff on, it blew my mind how much smaller I truly am. I still don't see myself as being that much smaller, but while trying on the clothes in my closet, it finally hit me. I looked like a little girl trying on her mom's clothes. I love clothes and love to shop but seeing how quickly clothes are ending up in the donate pile, I am having to restrain from buying much. I have about a fourth of the clothes I used to have . Anyone experience something similar?

    H pylori positive?

I also had it and didn’t know. Took the awful antibiotics and had my surgery a month later.
  18. Tomorrow, will be two months since my surgery (9 weeks on Wednesday) and as of the weigh in on surgery day I have lost about 30 pounds. I thought it would be faster but I also lost a lot of weight pre-surgery for a total of 84 pounds. As I continue to get smaller, I expect slower results. I have also started building more muscle and the inches are coming off quicker than the number on the scale, so I'm not sweating it. If it takes 6 months, 12 months or 18 months to hit my goal, I will just be happy that I hit my goal and can maintain it.

    Rate of Weight Loss

Don't forget to take your measurements as the scale doesn't always show that you are losing. My weight loss has started to slow but the inches are melting off so I don't get too concerned. I am almost 8 weeks post op and the lower the scale goes the slower the weekly losses (at least what I have noticed). As others have said, you started at a lower weight so instead of looking at total pounds loss, use a percentage.

    Multivitamins

This happened to me. The first time I took a chewable, I immediately threw up (had to have my hubby pullover on the highway). I still can't take any chewable, I have tried. It took me a few different brands to get one I could tolerate and it has to be the chewy kinds so there is no chalkiness. If I don't actually eat first before taking even my chews I will feel nauseous so I alway take them about 5-10 minutes after eating solids.
  21. I’m off to the hospital in about an hour for my surgery. I can’t believe it is finally here. Looking forwarded to the next step in my wls journey.

    Surgery Day!!

Awesome! I had my 10 day post op appointment on Monday with my surgeon and was cleared for purees and vitamins starting tomorrow. My incisions are none existent, you can barely see them which surprised the nurse and the surgeon how well they have healed. I am able to drink water normally and have no issues getting 64oz plus a day and getting in two protein shakes to get my 60 grams of protein. Honestly, it has been a really great recovery and I am so thankful. I will take those first hard 12 hours for such a quick turnaround. I am looking forward to starting the next stage and hitting the gym to do some strength training now that I have been cleared.
