I am less than 2 weeks away. next week I start my liquid diet. Of Course I am having a little bit of the cold feet wondering about all the what ifs and will I be able to hold down liquids. Has anyone had a hard time or any regrets?

im june 4th!! I start a liquid one week only starting May 28th wonder why some people dont have to do a liquid diet? Guess its up to the surgeon!

I am scheduled June 4th Debbie I went thru all the tests and now I feel over whelmed and skerd. I hope I make it thru the pre op liquid diet. My diet is liquids only high protein shakes.

JUst a general question. Is there a simplier way to get thru pre op liquid diet. Has anyone of you ever cheated? I go on mne in 3 weeks and was wondering do I need to hibernate? lol!

I dont get veggies or anything else except for straight liquids and protein shakes

I hope we r on same pre op together i think it will be tough the first few days might have to pass out like a ole bear lol

you are so right Kim. I will get thru it. I tried it today as a experiment and it is tough just doing one day. I think i may have to sleep a week lmao!!

Thats what I plan to do sleep and probably eat popsicles and chug water but it seems like it could get really hard to get through by reading others stories.

Frustr8 you made my heart sing with such positivity. I too lost dad a son then mom and recently hub was killed in a horrible wreck as he changed a tire on side of the road. My son lives with me and of course he is afraid I am all he has. I guess too my mom was 73 when she passed she didnt know it but she had a bleeding ulcer that put her in cardiac arrest she lived 13 days before she had another bleed. I suppose he worries about all that. Meantime I have gained so much weight from emotional stress eating and believe me I feel it 24 hours a day. Its even hard for me to trim my toes so i go get a pedicure each time. Me being short does not help much either. You are such a soldier a power candy crush bomb at 72. I cant wait to hear when you have your surgery and I know you will succeed to your hearts desire. I know I plan too I have saved for this surgery. I am all self pay it took me a while to get it together but I have it all now lol!! But Yes it does bother me with my son looking all worried. Sometimes I regret telling him but he had to know what was going on. You are right i will miss the hub and my 26 year old forver son in heaven he would be cheering me on he was such a healthy boy and my hub at first he didnt want me to have it but after talking with doctor he agreed he would go along wth me having the sleeve but unfortunately his life was cut short. This one is for me tho. Its my time we invest in cars and homes but its time I invest in myself. Good luck to you I hope we can keep each other posted!

So My surgery date finally happened today. I am scheduled for June 4th. I am super stoked but also scared if that makes sense. I often wonder will I look 100 years old since I am already 55 and I wonder if my face will cave in. Maybe I am over reacting thoughts in my brain. It is always scary I am sure whenever anyone goes in for surgery. My son does not want me to have the surgery since he lost his only brother my son and also my husband was killed a few months ago in a wreck. I am his only person left so he does not share in my enthusiasm.

oh gosh I hope so Ivy it has got to get better and more positive for us. We are planning on moving down into florida next summer after we sell house. Surgery will be a year passed by then I sure hope we have positive changes because its been bad after losing hubby. The surgery is a step in a great direction if i can get my nerves stable lol!!!

hahah I was like that last week I finally got my date today. I guess they get bust it took me a week to get my date after i was cpap compliant.

I moved here from Chicago 20 years ago but I have never got use to living in Alfreakinbama lol!

I did take him doctor with me and the doctor told him I was morbid obese and this would be a great asset for my health but of course he is still concerned!!!

aww Thanks I am so happy you are having it too. It is a bit scary because being in 50's. My son is 31 he thinks I am fine being 280. Hopefully our kids will be happier later when they see everything turns out fine. I know I am miserable carrying all this weight around and it sure doesnt come off as easy as when I was a young adult. I thnk as we get older it disables us to be able to do the things we use to do. Like I cant even get on my knees now because of course my weight will hurt too much. I will be happy to see the day when i can get on my knees in the floor and sit easily again. I hope yours goes well. Lets keep in touch!!

Thank you!! Will keep you updated I had a dopller which was fine no blood clots getting a stress test tomorrow which I am worried because I have left knee arthritis. After this I need a sleep study I didnt realize all these tests were involved but I am glad they are doing them. just a little poke in my bank account tho since I do not have health insurance. my first appt is tomorrow. I am self paying and was wondering what they do on the first visit. I have pain in my left knee and calf and wonder if they check for clots and such before doing the surgery. I am 55 and lost my hub 3 months ago in a terrible accident and was hoping I am doing the right thing since I am already experiencing grief emotions.
