    Can this be indigestion?

I’ve only had that sort of feeling when I’ve eaten a little too much and it feels like the food is backed up to my throat. Have you had any blood pressure issues at all? If you don’t have a monitor at home (it might be a good idea to invest in one - they are fairly inexpensive @ Walgreens.) I might recommend going to your local pharmacy (or grocery store if they have a pharmacy) and using one of those free machines to check it just to rule it out. It COULD just be indigestion, but starting now until your appt, I would keep a quick diary on your phone (in the notes or text yourself) of what you ate or were doing when the attack started to show your Dr at your next appt. Good luck! Hope it gets better for ya!!
  2. I’m definitely shy about my (almost) 55 lb loss. I only told my bff, hubby/daughter/mom and the friend that had the #vsg before me. So when anyone asks how I’ve “lost so much” or “what I’m doing” I simply thank them and if they pressure for an answer I say “I eat waaaaay less now” ;). I’m never in the mood to justify my decision to anyone, and the people that think this surgery was the “easy way out” don’t deserve my explanation anyway HAHA
  3. I got them at my local grocery store but I THINK I also saw them @ Walmart
  4. I love the embrace “the suck” idea! It perfectly sums it up! I had issues with my “fat chic brain” wanting to eat even though I wasn’t really that hungry, took a while to retrain “her”. Also, sugar free bomb pops were my best friend! I also went through an emotional stage somewhere before week 5 (maybe wk3 or 4?) and hated myself for doing this to myself etc, but it passed. Most importantly, PROTEIN! I wasn’t told until I visited a support group (post op) that if you don’t reach your required protein goals consistently, you MAY experience hair loss around the 3mos mark ... I think they jinxed me lol. I couldn’t stomach the protein shakes after surgery very well, it was a mental thing, not a physical one, but I definitely didn’t meet my proteins and guess what happened?! Luckily I had tons of hair to begin with so no one even noticed but me. It only last a couple of months and I have regrowth now thankfully. Good luck and keep a journal of your feelings and losses and measurements! You’ll be surprised when you go back though it even a few months later!!
