  1. bandfan, i see that your surgery is this week! congrats to you! it is so exciting!!! are you having to do a liquid diet this week, and if you are, how's it going?
  2. isn't this exciting!?! i feel so blessed to be doing so well...i hope everyone else is feeling good too! my surgery was on 4/11 and although the first few days i felt like i couldn't get a good deep breath, that is really my only complaint! the surgery was a breeze. i had it on a friday and was back to school teaching 7th grade math on tuesday! my incisions are mostly healed...the port incision has just one little spot left. i keep forgetting i just had surgery, that's how good i feel! i got to start mushies this past wed., and i'm loving that! i'm having the most trouble not drinking with my meals (or shortly after). but i haven't had any nausea or anything like that at all! i've been warned that if i don't get enough protein, my hair will fall out...has anyone else heard of this? i don't have enough hair to lose any, so protein it will be! blessings to you all...i hope you enjoy your journey as much as i'm enjoying mine!
  3. i was banded on 4/11, and i've lost 31 lbs. since my pre-op liquid diet! i feel SO great!
  4. i'm calondra and i was banded yesterday! i live in madison heights, virginia, but drove three hours north to reston to have my surgery done by dr. robert pinnar (so worth it!). i barely feel like i had surgery! i did low carb/high Protein liquids for one week before and i've not had any problems sipping on liquids since surgery. i was in the hospital overnight and my friend drove the three hour trip back home right after i was discharged. i had planned to stay overnight in northern va, but i felt so good, i came on home! ya'll have been a big help and encouragement to me as i've been preparing for this surgery. i'm so glad i took this step...! and i look forward to getting to know many of you better over the next several months.
