  1. Most will recommend their surgeons. That is unless they had a problem. I would suggest asking which ones are not recommended.
  2. My Dr. said lo fat or no fat. He suggested lofat yogurts, crackes, Water ect. Stay away from meats, cheeses, creams, sugars. If you are having trouble with this menu plan what are going to do after banding? :confused2::confused2:
  3. I have a friend that went through this. My Drs. said hair loss can happen when we don't get enough Protein and Water. Sounds good to me. I drink water like a wild man and protein is not a problem either so hopefully no hair loss.
  4. Yes my Drs. said drink water when in doubt. It makes me feel much better and evens satisfies my hunger. Never thought water would ever make me feel better but it does.
  5. I am so very sorry for your loss. It is kind of frightening to hear that the band was the cause of death. I actually don't see how? There has to be more to this than death from a band. That is my opinion of course. I think you need to find out what happened just to have some closure for yourself. In my research on banding I did find some deaths from banding. It seems that the cause was infections and heart attacks from something done at surgery or maybe the patient should not have had surgery in first place. My prayers are with you.
  6. Same thing happened to me. I know that does not help much.:-) Some Drs. in Mexico have financing if thats an option for you. Don't give up your dream. I financed part and paid cash for the balance. Also I heard that it can be a taxable deduction. Sorry that I can not be of any more help.
  7. My Drs. helper said to use a baby spoon when I eat and learn to take bites that are no bigger than that.
  8. I have the French MID BAND. Dr. said any band I wanted I chose the MID. I know some people that have it and it is working really good for them.
  9. I too was a little light headed. DR asked me to stay another 24 hrs so he could be sure I was fit to fly. But after another nights rest I was much better. Slept on plane and felt fine upon landing.
  10. I am a 8 oz guy. Three times a day. Its the water that helps me. Doc says as much as I can.
  11. Yes but it was really easy only water and yogurt. Crackers and veggies. Not all that bad and only for two weeks.
  12. Hi, I was banded in Mexico just before Christmas 2007. What an experience. I was hoping to get a band near home but not possible so after a great deal of research I chose Dr. Mascareno from Get Banded Now provides Lap Band Bariatric Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery and Gastric Bypass Surgery. Wonderful time as far as surgeries go. I talked with the Dr. and his patient helper Matthew for a long time before deciding to go for it. I felt safe and that I had made a good decision. I talked to a number of his patients and got a very positive report. I know that it could all have been phony but some of his patients were not the kind of people that would tell stories. Anyway after talking to them I took a trip to meet the Drs. and see the clinic. After visiting and snooping around for two days I decided to follow thru and get my band. So happy I did . I have lost weight already and am getting ready to get my first fill. I feel better and sleep better too. I am very active and love the out of doors. I fish and hike and now I am going to be able to do more of it without getting pooped out!! I am looking forward to this journey and hope to learn lots of tips here. BB
