  1. Since I can no longer take Aleve or Ibuprofen for my backaches and pains, I’m looking into using CBD oil tintures to replace them. Does anyone use it for pain and inflammation? I don’t live a legal state, so it would be just the CBD, not THC.
  2. Good luck! Stick with it as best you can. It really helped me learn to distinguish physical hunger and head hunger, which I find vital to establishing a successful postop eating lifestyle.
  3. I’m one week postop. The day I got home from the hospital I had my kids hide the scale. I don’t want to focus on my weight at this point. If I could opt out of weighing in at my follow up appointments I would. I don’t need to see it fluctuating and stressing me out. At six weeks post I’ll ask for the scale back and weigh myself once a week Monday mornings.
  4. Oh those damn sexy chickens!
  5. Find a recipe to make your own! Use a flour with a low glycemic index, REAL CHEESE, REAL BUTTER. Throw some protein powder in to boot. You can make them a much healthier snack by doing that. https://realfoodrn.com/gluten-free-cheez-it-crackers/
  6. Gastric Sleeve Support Group (VSG)
  7. This question was asked on one of my facebook support groups. Answers included: fever, dizziness, sob, palpitations, nausea and vomiting, extreme pain going up into your shoulders, flu like symptoms.
  8. Luckly for us that had surgery in the summer, by the time hair loss stage rolls around it will be totally normal to throw on a cute stocking cap for fall/winter.
  9. I'm at that stage where I don't trust my farts. I'm 4 days postop but I'm also taking miralax daily to avoid constipation
  10. Yes research shows it works for the sleeve too.
  11. Well good news!! From what I can find through internet searches, researchers KNOW that it DOES happen - right now they are working to pinpoint exactly HOW it happens.
  12. That’s uncalled for. You are neither supportive nor helpful with that comment.
  13. Unfortunately no, I'm in Kansas City.
  14. Lol that cracked me up. I’m on the 6th too!! Less than 5 days away!
  15. That's great! Good for her! I'll need to get my husband working out with me
  16. I think its natural to be nervous. It would be more abnormal to not be! Good luck today!
  17. That’s what I’m afraid of. My husband already has a portion control issue and I’m afraid he’ll end up eating more because I’m eating less - that he’ll be cleaning my plate for me.
  18. So I’m curious for those of you a couple months or more postop. Has your partner lost some weight as you’ve changed your eating habits? Stayed the same? Has anyone’s partner GAINED weight as you’ve lost? Just curious.
  19. Yeah I’m supposed to get one but haven’t yet
  20. My surgeon okays flintstones with iron so that’s what I’m sticking with
  21. This is great advice! I’m going to have to remember that.
  22. No judgements, that could so easily be any one of us.
  23. That’s an interesting article! I want to carry around copies and hand them to people when they ask why don’t I just diet and exercise. ?
  24. My first consult was in January, my surgery is Aug 6.
