  1. I would discuss this with your doc BEFORE surgery!
  2. Sounds good Sherilynn! VABandster... I sent you a PM!
  3. I have 6 HUGE bags full of clothes I need to get rid of. Sizes 20 and 22 mostly. One whole bag is all Tommy Hilfiger. I would love to pass it on to someone from LBT!
  4. LOL... I just had to explain the term "Sick Girl" on my other board. They thought the name sounded fragile and weak. Quite the contrary!
  5. WOW!! Thanks for the great response everyone!! It means a lot to me to have someplace like this to come and bounce ideas off of you all! As for my name... I'm thinking "Sick Girl". I am a HUGE Social D fan and it comes from them. I am open to other suggestions though! I sent an email to Denver Roller Dolls last night asking for more info for try-outs and to see what exactly they are looking for. I think try outs are 4 weeks from today. I plan on hitting the gym hard in those 4 weeks (I started back last night) Thanks again!
  6. http://www.denverrollerdolls.org/ Here's the link to the league I'm looking at.
  7. Looking for some input and opinions here. I am thinking about joining one of the roller derby leagues in Denver. I love the idea of it and I think I'm "that kind of girl" but am feeling a little unsure. It has been a long time since I have "put myself out there" like that. I still have weird body image issues and think I am still too big to do it. Hubby disagrees and has been showing me pics of the other girls from their website and they are about the same size as me. Hubby is all for it and is very supportive. What do you all think?
  8. I am on day 3 of no smoking!
  9. As I was cleaning out my closet this weekend I came across what used to be my fave jeans. These are a size 22 and used to be pretty tight on me. Look at me now!
  10. Here's our new home for the New Year! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/may-bandsters-january-t27525.html?p=356317#post356317
  11. Hello my peeps! Happy 2007 to you! I'm already starting this year as my best ever. My biggest New Year's resolution was to quit smoking. I am now on day two and going strong. Yesterday evening was tough, I kept reaching for one or starting to ask my hubby for one then I caught myself and did something else. I am now officially down 60 pounds since May 06! It amazes me each and every time I step on the scale. I did some major purging in my closet and now have 7 huge trash bags full of clothes to give away. I went to Old Navy on Saturday with the intention of getting some smaller jeans. They didn't have the size I wanted (14!!!) but I did get some cute camo pants and a sweater (XL!). I also did some online shopping at Torrid yesterday, so hopefully I will have some things to get me through awhile longer. As this new years begins I can't help but reflect on 2006 a bit. I have made some amazing connections with people here and I can't thank you enough for cheering me on and being in my corner. You guys rawk!! Here's to 2007!! Peace.
  12. Wow lala! You have the most restrictive post-op diet I think I have read here on LBT! I don't know that I could hang in there with that! Good luck to you carb-hatin' girls! :clap2:
  13. Here I am! We got about 10 more inches on Thursday and Friday. Hubby and I got out okay yesterday and did some shopping and stuff. The roads are fine if you can get out of your driveway. Crazy stuff! We NEVER get this much snow! I am off to the Broncos game this afternoon... hopefully I don't freeze since I have lost so much of my insulation!
  14. Thanks so much Cat804!! I got a wonderful fuzzy blanket and some super cute socks. I put the blankie on my bed tonight and it so warm and toasty! Thanks again!
  15. Lucky girl! All I get is emails for junk! LOL!
  16. My surgery was not in a hospital. It was in a surgical center. It's pretty common!
  17. I don't stress too much about my diet. I have had good luck with my loss so far and my hair hasn't fallen out so I'm pretty happy about that. Here's a typical day menu for me: Breakfast 1 packet of instant oatmeal Bottle of Water Starbucks mocha light frapaccino lunch 3oz packet of tuna with a bit of mayo and sweet relish Bottle of water Snack Goldfish crackers dinner Casserole or something like that, about 1/2 cup or so Bottle of water Since my last fill I probably only take in 1200 calories or so a day. I very rarely drink a Protein shake, and only if I can't get anything down in the AM.
  18. Welcome to LBT Jason! Thanks for sharing your story!
  19. Alicia.. I actually work almost in Aurora. It is snowing like crazy here and has been since yesterday afternoon. I had to work late last night and be back super early so my company got a few of us hotel rooms a few blocks from work. Thank god I didn't have to get up at 4am this morning!
  20. I have a huge box (according to hubby) awaiting me at home! Yea! I can't wait to open it and see who it's from!
  21. Welcome! Your name made me think of Madonna at first...LOL.
  22. I also wore compression stockings during and after surgery but nothing around my belly. Weird.... I've heard of compression garmets for after tummy tucks and stuff but nothing after a simple surgery like LB.
  23. I started tanning after I was about a month out. My scars are faded a lot... and I think it's from the tanning!
  24. Hey girls!! I wouldn't stress too much about the weather. The blizzard we had last week hasn't happened in years! We don't shut down too often around here and the snow is usually gone the next day. Feb is usually not too bad, might be cold but I wouldn't worry about getting snowed in (or out!). Jan might have a better chance of snow but still not enough to make you change your plans. I have lived here for 25 years and I have only been snowed in 3 or 4 times EVER. PM me if I can help!
  25. I could eat salads with no problem until my last fill. I have awesome restriction now and salads just aren't happenin'. It's sucks! I love salad!!
