Waiting is the worst part
@FluffyChix is right. For me the "fun" began on February 26th and probably won't end until March 26th at the earliest and that is IF I do not have any post-surgical complications. Surgery comes March 12th for me. Any person who thinks that surgery is the easy way out is just plain ignorant of the whole process. So yes, the waiting is the easiest part. Enjoy it.

Weed smoking before surgery
I happen to think that we as a society need to get over this reefer madness bullshit. THC has some wonderful health benefits. I had a hit of some vaporized stuff on Monday night from one of my neighbors. Good god did it feel good to get some relief from the discomfort of this liquid diet. It was nice having a dreamless sleep. LOL! I slept so well that I actually had 0 sleep apneas that night and 0 air leaks which probably meant that I stayed in one place the whole night. I woke up rested.

Found this very inspirational
This YouTube video was just the kind of inspiration that I needed this morning:

(((APPROVED))) March 23
Dang that's right around the old corner. Mine's on March 12th. They tell you bring comfortable, lose fitting clothing. I hate those hospital gowns to I am going to pack two pair of sweats and some tees.

I hate eating out now!

Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?
I wouldn't know what it's like to date a taller woman anyway. Short or tall it doesn't matter. My ex was all of 5'4". Her whole family wasn't very tall. I felt like godzilla come to Tokyo whenever we went to visit them.

I hate eating out now!
In my case, I would probably both puke and have the drizzles because of the whole bypass dumping syndrome thingy.

Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?
That's funny. I am 6'4" and before I gained all of this weight, I used to get matched with women 5' - 5'5". No matches with any of the taller girls.

Add a surgeon to the database
I tried to add my surgeon to my profile but she is not listed. Her name is Dr. Caitlin Halbert and she works for Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, DE; part of the Christiana Care Hospital System.

I hate eating out now!
They don't call it "Golden Corral" for nothing. People go there to graze. For me that is, pun fully intended, a recipe for disaster.

Scale keeps bouncing. 204, 206, 203, 204, 207 OMG, 202, 204, 203.
I ain't got **** for advice to offer anyhow. But I can commiserate. I am sure you've done the whole "measure yourself" thing. How're you feeling otherwise?

I love coffee
Start slowly and be careful. If I were you, I would try a small sip of the caffeinated variety and see how you tolerate that. It would suck to have major reflux because you had 8 ozs.

You're a SLOW loser! (Don't give up!) - My story and message.
@Lufifi You just proved that the scale is only one indicator of weight loss! :-D Now, you need to start spreading the message!!!
-
BIG Milestone!
Yay!!! For the win! Don't go out and buy too many pairs cuz before you know it, you'll be even less! :-)

Not losing weight
Yeah, google bariatric surgery and the 3 week stall and you'll see you're not alone. :-D

Weed smoking before surgery
Though I think you ought to make this one your last. You don't want THC showing up in any tests being performed.

I love coffee
I have a Keurig and I bought the Dunkin Donuts Decaf variety. While I can definitely taste a difference between regular and decaf, this brand seems to be much better.

Help
You might check Cooper in South Jersey. I know it's a little further away but it is still doable.

Last appointment with dietician
Cool! Your big day will be here before you know it. Today, I have the last and final hurdle which is a telephone call with the nurse anesthetist and surgery on the 12th.

Coping Mechanisms
I am still figuring this out but my program recommends getting up and taking a walk, reading, or doing some activity when the urge hits. You could try that.

Weed smoking before surgery
One blunt shouldn't cause a problem.

Start Liquid diet tomorrow
Glad you stuck to it through all of the insurance headaches! But that will be easy compared to the next 2 weeks. The liquid pre-op diet is misery but it is a right of passage. I am on day 7 and it still sucks but at least the physical hunger is gone. I only have head hunger now. It was so strong that when I took a nap I dreamed of eating a cheeseburger.
-
My god......what have I done?
I am still pre-op and the same thoughts that you are having are clouding my head. I am even doubting my decision to go with Gastric Bypass. I am thinking I should go with the Gastric Sleeve despite my care team thinking otherwise. Hell, I don't know who to believe at this point. I haven't spent one day in the past 6 months not thinking about the process and trying to make as informed a decision as possible. Yeah, the mood swings suck - I am going from hopeful to despair and everything in between. The folks that have gone through this before say it can and does get better. That's what's keeping me Marching forward. They got to be knowledgeable by walking the same mile we are right now.

Complications Kaiser SoCal
I am so sorry you're experiencing this. You've just highlighted one of the fundamental problems with healthcare in America: private insurance. It's set up to deny healthcare because providing it is, well, expensive and takes away from profits. Keep up fighting the good fight. @Sosewsue61 has some good ideas. I am just curious: are you considering going after your original surgeon? I wonder if he f*cked up.

TMI Topic - Liquid Diet Stool
Same thing happened to me today except I managed to make it to the throne. I think it is just the body adjusting to higher amounts of protein and fewer carbs. Our bodies really don't like change that much. Just make certain that you are re-hydrating to replace lost fluids. This is incredibly unpleasant ... trust me, I know it sucks. When is your big day? Mine is on March 12th.
