  1. Thanks. I’m glad my mom and friends are supportive. My brother will be once he sees the weight come off and I can succeed.
  2. Good for you for being your own advocate and so strong!! I
  3. This is great to hear. Good that uou haven’t had pain!! How’s everything else going since surgery?
  4. Thanks all. He admitted he is just worried about me and afraid I’ll regret it because of side effects. Like many of you I want to feel better and beat diabetes. I’m anxious to get this new life moving.
  5. Hi all, I am 5 weeks out from surgery. My brother who is also my roommate has told me twice “if you just didn’t eat junk food or fast food you wouldn’t need that surgery.” He also asked if I think maybe surgery is a bit extreme. I’m at a total loss how to answer him. I did say that even if I dieted and exercised vigorously I would still be diabetic, but with surgery chances are the diabetes will be reversed. Is he right!? Am I just denying the truth and being lazy? I’m feeling defeated and unsure right now. Megan
  6. Thanks!! I appreciate your insight!
  7. Do you know what the 3 anti-nausea meds were? Did one work better than others?
  8. I agree!! People just out of surgery shouldn’t have to suffer because some people abuse narcotics!! So sick of this BS!!
  9. Best of luck!! Sending good vibes from MN ?
  10. That sounds good! My pre-surgery diet is liquids only for two weeks before the surgery. Protein shakes, sugar free jello, broth, etc.
  11. Hang in there!! The end is not far off!! You can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Hope it continues to go well.
  12. I had to be 7.5 or lower but that was the surgeon’s requirement, not the insurance company.
  13. Awesome news!! I love hearing positive news-makes me more comfortable about my surgery. What are you drinking for protein? congrats on the weightloss!! Megan
  14. Awesome news! So happy the surgeon had your back!
  15. I can totally relate!! Same exact fears- to a T!! My surgery is July 23 and I’m terrified lately. Getting sick is so horrifying to me!! I know tend to eat badly when I’m lonely or bored. Obviously need that to change!!
  16. Hey Em_Jay, How's it going? Are you getting ready for your surgery date? Mine is further out but I still need to get all the vitamins and stuff for the pre-surgery diet. I am anxious to just get through it. I am getting nervous reading horror stories on here. I am so terrified of vomiting! My surgeon insists I shouldn't get sick if I am following the rules unless there is a complication of some type. How long do you plan to be off of work? I plan on 2 weeks but I may work from home some the second week. Well, just wanted to say hi! Hope you're having a good weekend! Megan
  17. Did you ask the doc? I’m so nervous about this happening to me too. I hope it stops! Congratulations on the loss!
  18. I’m glad they are trying to get to the bottom of it. Hope you feel better soon! Please keep us posted.
  19. This is horrible! They better effing see you! You’re suffering and you’re their patient to help! Very upsetting to hear! Can your primary physician prescribe something for nausea? You poor thing!! Keep us posted after you call again tomorrow.
  20. This sounds terrible! What did your surgeon say about this?? I assume he’s concerned.?
  21. Good call! I wondered if I could eat fruit!! ?
  22. Great ideas!! Thanks so much and congrats on your loss!! ?
  23. Same issue here! Plus it’s extra tough right now because it was 100 degrees here today with high humidity and the same tomorrow. Ugh. Hope I sweat less after surgery!
  24. I hope to find a protein shake I can tolerate and that I don’t pass out from low blood sugar (I’m diabetic). I heard sugar free popsicles and sugar free jello are good. Hang in there!!
