  1. I had a few that all happened around the same time: Realizing I was over 300 pounds - my highest weight was 311 Not being able to fasten an airplane seat-belt without asking for a seat-belt extender Getting tired more often Having to buy bigger and bigger clothes, not fitting into clothes that were already my "fat" clothes Not being able to look in the mirror without becoming very upset about how I looked I stopped taking selfies, I stopped wanting to be in pictures
  2. Does anyone know why we're supposed to give up caffeine pre-op? It's been so hard for me too!
  3. You're not alone @Paloomino78! We can do it!
  4. According to my very low calorie diet guidelines, I'm not supposed to drink anything with caffeine. Does anyone know why that is? I am a coffee fiend and gave it up on Oct 20 to get a headstart on my VLCD. Any insight is appreciated!
  5. My Surgery date is Nov 22 but I started my liquid diet a few days ago since I need a full month. How are you doing so far?
  6. @BabyFat23 you're almost there!!! <3
  7. I started my pre-op VLCD a couple days early, just cause I have a lot of weight to lose and really need to shrink my liver down for surgery. Went with option 1 (see pic) and, jeez, I gotta say this is a pretty expensive diet. Shakes are so expensive! I drink four a day (two SlimFast and two Premier), plus one cup of jello and one small dinner of 3 oz of meat with 1 cup of veggies. I like having my meals basically planned for me, so I'm finding this to be mostly pretty easy. I still dream of pizza and cheeseburgers lol but I've made peace with the fact that I've eaten more than enough junk for ten lifetimes and don't need it anymore.
  8. Sorry I misunderstood - you're 1 week away from surgery! How exciting!!!
  9. Hi All! I'm new to this site - planning to have my surgery before the end of the year at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downer's Grove, but an official date hasn't been decided yet. Would be super helpful to talk with people who know what I'm going through! Anyone in Chicago interested in meeting up as a group?
