  1. I just weighed myself and so far I have lost 16lbs since beginning this journey in August. How much did you lose before surgery? The main things I have changed is my eating. But to be honest I definitely slip up some days. But as a whole I am eating much healthier. I am trying to incorporate more exercise but I am just starting that now. What changes did you make to lose weight pre-surgery? BTW their is no requirement with my insurance of weight loss.
  2. I had three visits as well. First visit was just to talk about myself and the surgery, second was just to take a very long personality test, and the third was to go over the test. After that she cleared me.
  3. I am getting so impatient. I feel like I have been on this journey FOREVER! Okay I am being a bit dramatic. I am still waiting on my surgery date will hopefully find out more at my next appt. which is like a week and a half away. I know I am nearing the end but time is going so slow!
  4. I have PCOS as well. I am watching this thread my surgery is being scheduled very soon.
  5. I am on chantix. I have been smoking less and less. I think I am almost done now!!
  6. Did anyone else get put on a lot of vitamins before surgery. I got my blood tests back awhile ago and they now have me taking a lot of vitamins. I was apparently deficient in these vitamins. They added B1,B6,D,Calcium Citrate, Iron, and C. I am on vitamin overload! Thats all in addition to my multi vitamin.
  7. I have chosen only a few people to tell. I am telling just close family and friends. My mom, dad, and spouse of course. And the I picked about three VERY close friends to tell. Luckily everyone has been supportive. I am not telling anyone else though. I am a pretty private person.
  8. So my little update I am still smoking.. But I am going much longer periods of time without smoking and have cut in half what I used to smoke. Just hope I can make it the rest of the way there!
  9. I am not sure yet it hasn't been booked. I am still doing all the pre-op stuff. But if all goes well it should be in November or December.
  10. Hi I am Krista. I am still pre-op and new here. It was kinda hard to find the lgbt board.
  11. Anyone else here trying to quit or have quit smoking? I am trying my best but am really struggling with it. My PCM has me taking chantix which doesn't seem to be working. Any tips or tricks? I want to quit I have smoked for a long time.
  12. I am going to Park Nicollet through the Meadowbrook clinic
  13. Hi! I am in Minnesota as well. Just joined the forum. I am finishing up appointments as well hoping to have it scheduled either in early December or late November.
  14. I have been considering not telling many people as well. It is a private thing to me and I am not an open book. The people I have told of course are in my support system. My spouse, my parents, and a few very close friends.
  15. I just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I am currently waiting for my surgery date impatiently!
