  1. I am reading this thread and laughed at the "knife fight" comment. I got the joke and it was funny. I have had people say and comment negatively (or it was perceived negatively). Its best just to blow it off and move on. Engaging just isn't worth it. How is it coming along? Did you increase your protein? I can start working out this weekend and plan to bump my protein intake as well 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 235 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  2. I wish I knew how much of an emotional roller coaster it was. Overjoyed one minute and bawling the next! I wish I knew how others would judge you for having the surgery. KEEP IT TO YOURSELF! 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 235 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  3. That was short lived! Im up 1 lb this morning. [emoji35] 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 235 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  4. Don't worry, I PROMISE YOU WILL. Liquids don't challenge the sleeve, they literally stay in your tummy for 3-5 minutes and are into your intestines. You will feel it when you eat real food. It literally feels uncomfortable, almost hurts it feels so full. Be patient you have 75-80% of your stomach gone, it will be restricted [emoji4] 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  5. LOL! Congrats and its normal. When you drop weight you get a mass of hormones released. Enjoy it!!!! 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?

  9. That is SO TRUE! Take it day by day, sometimes it will be minute to minute. I promise you that is is worth it. 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  10. Hello I think most of us on here have had the same issues, so no worries[emoji4] Start slowly, for example when you make yourself a plate to eat.... before you sit down remove the carbohydrate. That should reduce your plate by 1/4 to 1/3. You MUST stop smoking. That is a deal breaker for all surgeons. I smoked a pack a day fir 30 years and quit 2 weeks before surgery. They will test you for nicotine. Cut out sweets and carbs as much as possible. That is what hurts you the most. Remember you can always come here. We have all been there and are more than happy to give advice or lend support. [emoji4] 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?

  12. Hi there, what gym are you a member of and what state do you live in? I never knew there were "medical memberships". Thats awesome! Im allowed to start walking Saturday and lifting the week after that ? 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  13. Liquids dont really challenge the sleeve. They remain in the stomach for a couple of minutes, thats it. You will feel the restriction when you try to eat foods! It kind of feels like you swallowed rocks. Eat REALLY SMALL BITES A FEW MINUTES APART. Do that until you "learn" what your tummy can tolerate. 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  14. I totally get it Bill. I was in fitness competitions and let it go when I lost 3 loved ones in a short period of time. But.... that was then, this is now and we are getting back to it. I didnt tell people either. I feel like its so intensely personal 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 234 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?

  19. To answer the question "Why do I eat"? I eat because I need to het my protein and nutrients in and to stop hunger pains. I often eat while watching TV.... after reading your post its clear that is a bad thing! I def learn something new every time I read this forum. Thanks fluffy! 20. Yikes Im feeling like a huge failure after reading your post. I am 100% guilty of NOT eating mindfully. I have been forcing myself to eat and/or just eating what is handy (eggs, canned chicken breast, hummus are my "go to's". ) Starting tomorrow I will begin eating mindfully. I think this is a great idea and wish Id have known about it. Thank you!!! 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 235 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  21. I have the exact same issues with my liver function and both. my liver and spleen are very enlarged. All my liver function tests have been bad for a couple of years. My PCP said it was due to a fatty liver and it would go away when I lose weight 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 235 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
  22. * ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE CHANGING YOUR DIET. We have all know that if we create a calorie deficit we will lose weight. That is correct. Yet it can drive you nuts when you suddenly stall. The science is simple, we eat the same amount of calories for weeks on end. This creates a calorie deficit and we lose weight. After many weeks of dieting like that, we stall. It's due to your shrinking body mass. Less body mass needs less calories. Our metabolism slows in response. It's a process called Adaptive Thermogenesis. It can slow our metabolic rate as much as 20% To keep your metabolism burning at peak levels just add calories. DO THIS ONE DAY A WEEK ONLY. To figure out how many you need just take your maintenance level and add 10% (EX: for women maintenance is 1200 calories/day add 10% =1320 calories ). EAT HEALTHY, BUT EAT MORE. This will reboot and re-feed your metabolism. Below is the link for the full article. 25. Thank you and great advice. I took it and scaled back so I can figure out which is the culprit. I do fine with chicken and hummus, its the eggs. My new arch nemesis! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Looks like I will be egg free fir a while. I will try to reintroduce eggs in a couple of months. 5' 5" HW: 259 CW: 237 GOAL: Healthy and hard 140-ish?
