  1. I'm vegetarian, so unfortunately that's no good for me. I just had a bowl of salad to help fill me up before bed. From about 7-9pm I get so snacky!
  2. No, but I think sleeve is worse than RNY.
  3. Definitely follow up with your psychiatrist. They should be getting back to you... keep calling them until they do.
  4. Thanks so much! I will check them out - it's nice to have recommendations. One thing I really miss are crackers. I'm on the hunt.
  5. After logging all of my food yesterday, I'm at about 800 but probably nearer to 1000 (maybe even a bit more) if I don't log.
  6. Which ones are they? Can you link to them? I just did an order from Bariatric Pal... most of the things I got were good, but the calorie free caramel dip was not good. yuck! lol.
  7. I never did wean off of caffeine - in fact, my surgeon told me to have a cup of coffee the week following my surgery when I was complaining of headaches! ? Love my surgeon ❤️
  8. Nothing wrong with a food funeral - I did it too. However, maybe give yourself a list of your top 5 foods, have them, thank them, say goodbye and then start your pre-op diet. You have to make a mental decision to stop and you will feel better for it if you take control of it, rather than just going straight into the liquid diet after eating like mad.
  9. I give myself a B12 shot once a month. Yes, I notice a difference with my energy and mood. I have a history of low B12 (lifelong vegetarian) and so I need to do the shots - they are easy to administer. I buy the B12 online and the syringes from Amazon. Easy peasy. Trouble is with pills is you tend to just pee them out.
  10. Another one for Baritastic.
  11. Down a pound this morning. I logged everything I ate yesterday and it was around 850. It's great to see the scale moving in the right direction! Evenings though are TOUGH with my hunger. Does anyone have any good ideas for non meat snacks I can have? (Not keen on cottage cheese or any kind of gelatin products).
  12. So thankful I have you guys to talk to about this.
  13. Can I ask if you were on any kind of meds for depression or anxiety before the surgery?
  14. You're welcome! Here's a picture - I tried to link it earlier but my computer's being sooooo slooooow.
  15. @FluffyChix - I will quote what the internet says "Splenic flexure syndrome occurs when gas builds up or becomes trapped in your colon. Thought to be the primary cause of this condition, gas accumulation causes trapped air to push on the inner lining of your stomach and digestive tract. As a result, pressure can build on surrounding organs causing pain and discomfort." On wikipedia it comes under the heading of IBS. I get a lot of trapped gas in that area that backs up and pushes on my spleen, giving me pain right under my left rib.
  16. I realised it's 5 lbs since Friday. I actually started logging today - not sure how to log what I had at wholefoods though. I got a few spoonfuls of food from the hot bar when I was there. I mean, there is NO way that I have really put on that much weight. I would have to be eating non stop and I can't even fit enough in to do that. What the hell is going on with my body. I feel bloated... boobs are bigger, tummy is a bit bigger - just kind of bloated. No chance of pregnancy. If I had to guess, it's hormones at work. But what can I do about that??
  17. Could be gas or backed up poop in the splenic flexure which is right under your bottom left rib.
  18. I have put on 5 lbs in a week and I don't understand how it is possible.
  19. Oh, I've definitely learnt my lesson hahaha
  20. mousecat, you've done your bit. You've done your best. Now it's up to the universe to sort it out.
  21. It makes me wonder how many people's anxiety, depression, etc medication has stopped working because of malabsorption.
  22. Found this info on dumping - I had no idea late dumping was a thing. https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?ContentTypeID=134&ContentID=107
  23. I know what a conniption is... I have been known to have them ? I can't drink and eat anyway - it makes me vomit/slime. I was just thinking that this would be the perfect way for a messed up brain to think they can lose weight.
  24. Just tried the egg in the microwave... thought 'oh, I'll cook it for 40 seconds instead of 30'... KABOOM! Egg all over the inside of the microwave ? What was left in the cup was really good though! Great, easy snack.
