  1. Thank you folks for all of your great ideas!!!! Time to add to the list!!!
  2. He wants me to stay because of pain, not paying! LOL Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Wow totally sounds like you got railroaded! I'm in New Mexico and my doctor is demanding I stay 3 days, one because I'm having a conversion, and secondly because he's worried about paying. Heck I wish I could talk him into letting me leave earlier! But if I were you I would absolutely tell someone how much pain you're in. There is no reason whatsoever that you need to go around in this kind of pain and worry about the pain that you're going to have in two weeks. If you can't get good drugs after surgery, when can you?!? And my doctor told me I am never to take ibprofen again! He said that is one of the biggest no-nos ever in the name of bariatric surgery. 4. I happened to know that a doctor in New Mexico had a patient who thought she was okay for surgery by her insurance and then afterwards they declined to pay it her total cost came out to $45,000! I would open a wrist! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Excellent idea! I'm going to put that on my list, buy a variety of things to be here for after my surgery and have a protein Fest! LOL thank you so much for that really great tip! Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. 1 I am making a pledge to myself that I will NOT allow myself to get discouraged over how long it seems to be taking to get a surgery , I am going to keep going! 2. I am going to take a before picture and weight prior to my surgery and then not weigh myself until the same date the next month. 3. I am going to take a before picture and weight prior to my surgery, and then I will not weigh myself until my first month anniversary, second anniversary, etc. 4. I am going to celebrate every small victory with a non food related prize, such as a new shirt, new purse, etc (any reason to buy a purse is a good reason!) 5. I am going to do everything the docs tell me to do so that I have the BEST chance at success. I have had too many failures in my life and I'm ready for a win! 6. I am going to keep journaling my emotions, challenges and victories as an outlet. FEEL FREE TO GIVE THIS ROOKIE ANY IDEA THAT YOU HAVE LEARNED AND I'M GOING TO HANG THEM ON MY FRIDGE, MY BATHROOM WALL, MY BEDROOM, ETC. I NEED YOUR GREAT IDEAS AND ENCOURAGEMENT ON THE BEST WAY TO SUCCEED IN THIS DIFFICULT JOURNEY!!
  7. You look great congratulations way to go! You're going to be just dancing around anytime now. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

  9. Hey Draven! It seems like a lot of us are keeping our surgery secret, believe me I thought I was the only one until I came on this site! Lol you are a very brave woman to be doing this for your children, but I would caution you to do it for yourself first. Do it so you can run with your boy, ride bikes with your boy, teach him how to dance, and take walks with him. Think about the love and joy that will bring into your life! Believe me I've thought about mine for a long time and if I could get this done tomorrow I would get it done without even thinking about it, but of course I must deal with the dreaded Insurance Company. I'm not worried about loose skin as much as I am as fat as I am. Loose skin can always be removed, my heart can't take this overload! If I want to be here for my children and my grandchildren, I'm doing this thing, but mostly I'm doing it for me to finally love myself the way that I should be loved. I want to see myself in the mirror without rolls and rolls and rolls hanging off! I'm tired of feeling like a refrigerator on legs. So girl we're going to go through this thing together! We're going to become better moms together, better women together and better people together! I know that if I can show up for things I can be better! You have a great night and congratulations on your decision. Sent from my SM-G930T using BariatricPal mobile app

  12. Wow! You go Mama! You look so great -- and happy!!!
  13. Hi DeeDee - I'm Joan and I'm waiting on my approval for Gastric Bypass. I wanted to come on here because I wanted to be prepared. I hope you're finding it helpful here. I can't help you with anything AFTER, but I can be a support for before!
  14. Thanks I'm gonna check it out!
  15. I might even have a fat clothes burning party for one - dancing around the flames naked!!!!
  16. I have the same closet and I can't wait to say I'm "tiny!" I can't wait to get there, I will gladly give ALL the big stuff away....I'm NEVER turning back!!!!
  17. Thanks for the info on the button RW. I didn't know it was there or I would have used it yesterday. I have found some very nice supportive people as well.
  18. Oh, believe me, I'm not going back to that forum - LOL.
  19. I was in the sleeve forum and there was a very negative conversation, and it threw me....wanted to make sure it wasn't normal....
  20. Honestly, I need the support. I don't want to tell them I'm depressed as I am because I'm afraid they won't do the surgery....
  21. No, I don't use for the high, I use because my body does not metabolize pain meds, so it is a medical necessity. I'm hoping there will be understanding.....
