  1. I only break my 4 meals/day routine occasionally, and that is to have a few nuts. So those days are 850 calorie days.
  2. My BMI was 38 at first consult, 36 on day of surgery. I did worry about losing weight during the 6-month period before surgery, but once I had insurance approval, I was all in. I don't believe your body will go too low. That seems pretty rare here on the message board.
  3. I like Nutrametrix Isotonix 'cause I can mix up one 8-ounce concoction in the AM and I don't have to think about it for the rest of the day. Surgeon says its fine to consume all of the calcium at once this way. I just restocked for 3 months -- $125, so it isn't cheap. A week ago, I got Bariatric Advantage vitamin and calcium capsules and tablets and tried that for a day -- damn thing got stuck and I was uncomfortable for over half an hour. Plus multi-dosing. Not for me.
  4. I don’t eat any processed stuff except premier protein with my coffee. I do eat 2% cottage cheese, but nothing else is lowfat. The postop diet is really very clean. SFH Pure is an more natural protein powder if you are looking for options. I used this pre-surgery, but then my tastes changed.
  5. Google says $125 -- not cheap, but I know I'll do it when I get another 40# off.
  6. 39.2#s -- 12 in the 2-week pre-op, and the rest since then. I like banana. :-) I usually have 8 ounces with 8 ounces of iced coffee in the morning because it helps me meet my protein goal consistently.
  7. I remember being *thrilled* when I woke up after surgery. For some reason I was super worried that it wouldn't happen. :-)
  8. You look fantastic -- congratulations!!! And 15#s, holy cow!
  9. When I eat, I'm satisfied, but I also get hungry before my next planned "feeding" (LOL). Like you, I'm at 800 kcals per day.
  10. Yes, Jenn is certainly more than capable of managing her own affairs. I just called it like I saw it. As for crossing posts, isn't that what led to this thread in the first place -- a little tit-for-tat? Plus, I've been on this board since last August, and I don't recall that there even was an active moderator before, so why demand more mods?? This is my last post on this topic.
  11. Since there is only one moderator that I know of, your OP is thinly veiled criticism of her -- not cool.
  12. Sorry about the bad trial with the shake. I suggest you try a few before giving up, because you'll be drinking them afterwards, too. Premier Protein is pretty popular around here -- I mix mine 50-50 with iced coffee, even now at 2 months out.
  13. Maybe get a Dexa scan at local hospital?
  14. Whaaat? Creek, there's nothing wrong with the moderators, and we mostly self-monitor anyways.
  15. @MIZ60 Say yes to the cruise!! I am going on a 5-day cruise to Bermuda on Saturday, but I'm nervous about the food -- I didn't log or weigh my food yesterday, and it made me antsy as all get-out!
  16. Well this thread certainly struck a collective nerve! No big surprise -- this is, after all, a life changing experience for all of us. I agree generally that most people are technically doing their best, but "best" is highly subjective and variable. Why not celebrate people going balls to the wall? After all, it is indisputable that there is a window for losing weight.
  17. Woot! 100#s is freaking amazing!!! I will be here cheering you all the way down to 125, @FluffyChix, I know you can do it!
  18. Bravo -- congratulations!!
  19. I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's medical issues -- I'm sure you are beyond stressed! I would encourage you to not drop out now. You can always revisit your decision right up until scheduling. All the best to both of you.
  20. Damn, did the casinos on at Lake Tahoe decades ago :-)
  21. Hey Matty-man, vent away. We don't need anything emotionally positive. We are here for you.
  22. You should consider weaning yourself down or off AD's. My surgeon is a man of little words, LOL, and he was...disgruntled that I was still taking Paxil at 1 week, LOL. Since surgery I have gone from from 30 to 10 (week coming up), Paxil, and onward to 0.. Its tough, and I get weird symptoms, but nothing to stop me from progressing. Can't wait to be free after 10 years.
  23. As did mine -- good advice!
