  1. To answer the last question I think the protien helps make sure you getting food in b
  2. Sounds like your eating enough. I am 4 weeks and an only do 1 ounce of fish/meat re fried beans at a time. Maybe 2 oz of yogurt. I am doing 3 protien shakes a day 3-4oz each, otherwise I wouldn't get to my 70+ grams of protien a day.
  3. Wow. I was just working on my water two days out. I think it took me til day 5 to get even my 3oz protein in. I'm almost 4 weeks now and just now eating those things and it's hot or miss on how they make me feel. You might be getting some gas pain from some of that food.
  4. Just three days out it's probably gas pains. Try to move and walk and move your arms around a bit to get the gas moving.
  5. So sorry your having a rough time. First few days were rough for me. Glad they kept me in the hospital for 3 days. I stayed on pretty heavy pain meds those first few days pretty steady. I'm surprised they send people home so fast. A few days out it gets better.
  6. Might be Vertigo. Sounds like when I get it. Not diet related. Worse in the morning. You can go to your pcp to get it checked. They have a test they do to verify that's what it is. And the best cure is the epily maneuver. Watch a YouTube video on how to do it.
  7. Hello! I was sleeved June 27th. Down 35lbs since pre op diet and 25 since surgery. Starting soft foods this week but going slow. Nikki Hw 340, SW 330, CW 305
  8. Cream of wheat is on my puréed list but oatmeal is the next soft food phase on my list.
  9. I'm 3 weeks post op and the only protein I can do is chocolate Unjury. It's soooo good! Disolvesbto nothing so even in 3 oz of skin milk it tastes like thin chocolate milk. My dr office sells it and u can order it online. All other protien was way too thick and chalky for me. And the weird pains start to go away in a few more weeks.
  10. Anyone still have the gurgly tummy? I don't really have indigestion. Just my stomach is constantly gurgling and churning. Is this normal? I take an acid reducer every morning.
  11. So I am doing purées but feeling like I cannot get very much down. Can do about an ounce but takes me awhile. I can do three ounces of my liquids and protien mixes. But the purées seem so much less. How's everyone else's capacity?
  12. That's what I'm noticing. I can do about 3.5 ounces of liquid but the tuna and this ricotta I can get only about an ounce to ounce and a half. So weird.
  13. How's everyone's food stage going? I just got to puréed today. So far did puréed tune with a little mayo and made a ricotta bake. Both gave me some gass and had to eat very slow but so far okay.
  14. I was the 27th as well. Down 19lbs since surgery. I'm still on full liquids a few more days so just soups and fudgecicles. Can do about 3-3.5 oz at a time and the last couple days I notice my water intake is better. I also noticed I'm actually feeling hungry and craving things the last few days which is freaking me out a bit. [emoji32] overall feeling a lot better than last week. Few more days then back to work. Is semi solid food puréed stage? That's what I start in two days.
  15. Sorry but being two weeks out and staying positive even though I'm nervous this post keeps popping up at the top of my feed and it's SUPER Irritating. Sorry your family member had a complication from a surgery but why come in here and freak people out. What are you expecting to get out of it? Your not offering any info that would need a response from anybody us so go talk to some Doctors about his specific complications. Your here just telling us they should ban the surgery when obviously many of us have and are Benefitting from this surgery. What is your goal here? People are showing you links to the stats showing how safe this surgery is in comparison to other surgeries. We obviously know the risks when we do elective surgery. Enough already. Jeez. Did I mention I'm still in full liquid stage and a bit grumpy.
  16. I've got three more days til purée stage as well but I'm not sure what to eat. Nothing is sounding too appealing as a paste.
  17. I am feeling the same way but powering through. I'm honestly shocked by those that are sneaking a few bites. I am so terrified of a leak that I don't dare. That is why my Dr and Nut said to stay away from anything more for a few more weeks. Looking forward to moving onto puréed foods next week. I figure if I'm willing to do this drastic of a surgery to my body, then by god I am sticking to the plan. It's just a mental game anyway. Stay strong!
  18. Just stay the course if you know it's right for you. He will come around just might take a bit.
  19. My husband was like this but since surgery a week ago he has been all on board. I think he was scared and didn't understand why I would do surgery which seemed so drastic to him. If he is a good husband he will come around. See if he can go to a dr apt or pre op class with you. That helped mine understand more and now he is excited about what's to come and being able to do things, like roller coasters or zip lining, that couldn't do before.
  20. Well I was so excited to add blended cottage cheese to my foods today but after about a half ounce it made me feel so sick. I didn't throw up but feel super bloated. Ugh.
  21. I'm so afraid of a leak I didn't even taste and spit out the stuff I cooked tonight. I told my husband I went by smell. I just want to do everything by the book now that I've put my body thru this surgery. Last night before bed I felt super hungry so I sipped one ounce of skim milk and it totally filled me up. So weird.
  22. I had surgery 6/27 and I can't stop watching cooking shows. I'm like obsessed hehe. I figure once I do start eating real food I'm going to cook the best things! Even cooked my husband and kid dinner tonight just so I could smell everything. Was kinda fun and not too torturous.
