  1. Had my surgery today. Cried my eyes out the whole morning, but all of a sudden I woke up in recovery with LITTLE TO NO PAIN! Amazing. Barry gas pain either. Walking is very difficult, but I managed to go for a little walk today. Going to try each hour or two tomorrow. Never been so happy. HW - 230 SW - 215 GW - 120
  2. I had my surgery today. HW - 230 CW - 220 SW - GW -
  3. Today was super easy. Barely any pain whatsoever. Only when I walk so they said we can work on that tomorrow HW - 230 CW - 220 SW - GW -
  4. I'm glad your wife is feeling better. I've been questioning MANY people on here because it seems like no two people have the same experience. Do you guys live near your surgeon (assuming your surgery is by the same one) ?
  5. Oh, I forgot to mention. Did you have difficulties drinking the 3 days you were there, or end up in the ER at any point (if you don't mind me asking that is) ?
  6. Oh I totally agree it'll be worth it! I've never had surgery in my life. Only been put under for wisdom teeth removal and don't even remember it. I'm only 20 years old and trying to make a lifestyle change that's permanent. I never want to be where I've been the past 5 years. I've never had any health concerns really. I do have a benign growth tumor in my knee but from growth, nothing serious. I've just read a lot of people's posts that made me very nervous.. I don't handle pain too well lol. Plus I'm not excited for the 3 hour flight home [emoji24] but it'll be worth it in the long run.
  7. Well, I go in on Tuesday. I'm terrified but not for reasons I was before. Can anyone give me tips/how they felt waking up? I'm nervous because I'm seeing a lot of people are either regretting it, or just plain miserable with pain and serious complications. I'm considered low risk if that has anything to do with complications afterwards..
  8. Yes feel free to send me a message
  9. Yes but doesn't believe much of it. Apparently the patients that had problems with him were very high risk patients
  10. I'm right there with you..
  11. Most likely not.. my mother is paying for this and it's a pretty much, "now or never" with her
  12. Seriously thinking about backing out. I don't know if I actually trust my surgeon after seeing multiple news stories about his malpractices. Also.. when I googled the statistics it came up a 1 out of 50 people die from the sleeve surgery.
  13. Mine is the 27th!! You'll do great, you seem to have a great mindset. I was a little nervous but a close friend of mine talked me out of my nerves. Just think, in just a couple days we'lol both be done with surgery and on our way to healthier lives
  14. I was told depending on your habit, straws are okay - as some people tend to "gulp" with straws. I couldn't ever gulp unless drinking straight out of a can, so they said straws I could try. However, they also told me soda might be okay in low quantities later on after surgery - I just put soda in my past and have moved on from it as a personal choice. Each surgeon has their own restrictions for their patients. No two people are the same
  15. I had asked a similar question on here, as I cheated with baked chicken once. I've heard every surgeon has a different plan/idea for their patients. I have 3 days left of my pre op. The day after, I actually called my surgeon and told him that I had broke down and cheated once. He told me, "thank you for your honesty. The point of this diet was not to starve you, was not to upset you, but to test how you could handle being restricted. You were honest, and cheated with a sensible meal," (as I only had chicken. A tiny bit of seasoning on it, no sauce, no drinks during, nothing else on the plate. I don't think some steamed veggies will hurt you, but like I said, every surgeon is different. Your cheating wasn't with "bad" foods, but maybe just try calling him or when you go in, talk to him about it. Good luck, and remember, only 3 more days of it!! Is your surgery June 27th?
  16. Now just trying to get the fear of not waking up after surgery out of my mind lol. Never had surgery before..
  17. Please keep in touch!
  18. The first few days were hell for me [emoji20] I felt like I was becoming more and more weak and tired as time went on. And then, day 5 hit, and it was like I'm a new person. Weird as it may sound, that was the first day I haven't experienced any tiredness during the day, weakness, or even a headache. My emotions are still random at times, but I know that'll go away eventually. My surgeon would not allow gum of any kind, but it kind of worked out because I'd always feel sick, somewhat nauseous, when I chew gum. But if that helps you, that's awesome! Ice chips help too and will help with getting in fluids if you haven't tried that. I struggled yesterday seeing my friends when they ordered out to a Chinese restaurant I used to love, but I managed to stick to my diet. We can do this!! Good luck to you! [emoji4]
  19. I'm an "ice eater" normally! I always end up chewing on ice and it does help! After day 5, I had no desire to chew anymore and when I felt hungry, 1 optifast drink fixes that instantly.
  20. I also have chronic migraines but I'm at the point where my surgeon no longer wants me to take any medications like Tylenol. Good luck to you - we only have 7 days left!! Starting to get nervous, yet excited!
  21. Okay, but at the time I didn't know what else to do. I just felt different than my friends. Like I said before, it's just waves of sadness that come to me that's all.
  22. That means a lot to me, my parents are my biggest supporters for this. They made this possible for me. After the 5th day, things have gotten a lot easier. It seems as if my body is used to the 800 cal. per day.. I'm not complaining lol. Thank you[emoji173]️
  23. I think you misunderstood that I did not need to do it, just that I'll miss those times. And also, if you read any further down the thread, I had said my friends support me. I know it's an adjustment I have to make. Thanks for your input.
  24. Thank you all for your responses and especially for not being rude. I found out I've lost 10 lbs in 7 days!! I feel a little better by seeing that. I hate that these sadness waves happen but for now I'll see my friends and bring a sensible meal for myself and just keep on going
  25. The thought of my life not being what it used to be like can be very depressing for me it seems. I have a very close friend group and we love going to the bar to play pool and eat out and drink at the lake and just have fun.. realizing now that it won't be like that for me anymore
