  1. Congratulations on getting your date!
  2. I got one of those cards at my last visit with the nutritionist. I haven't decided yet if I am going to use it or not, I'm thinking though that I'm just going to bring the other half of my meal home, that way I have leftovers. But it's still nice to have though.
  3. Probably because there are other people in her household that aren't on a liquid diet. I know that's the case in my house.
  4. It's clear liquid, in everything else. I get SF Carnation Instant Breakfast with that whey stuff in it (wasn't given a choice on what type of shake), SF Jello, Broth, SF popsicles.
  5. I'm on the clear liquid diet, and in the mornings I have 16 oz. of carnation instant breakfast before work (I drink it from 6:30 - 7:00), and now, it's already 9:00 and I'm starving. The only other things that I can have on this is popsicles, jello & broth, and I just am not sure how I can get that hunger to stay away. What do you guys do in the morning?
  6. Wow you are doing great! Getting closer too! The liquid diet is getting a little bit easier for me too. The only really hard parts is mainly when I'm eating (drinking) dinner with other people and it's something that I like, then it's like I think gosh, it won't be until the middle of May before I get something even remotely close to that again! But I went to the doctor yesterday, and I was down 9 lbs. since last Tuesday, so I'm hoping that the weight loss continues. Are you getting excited?
  7. Tomorrow I start week 2 of the liquid diet, and I'm having an issue. Now, even if I am starving, when I go to drink the CIB, I start to gag, same thing is happening with the broth.. This is going to be a long two weeks if it keeps going like this. It's taking everything I've got to get the stuff down.
  8. I have been too! Like practically falling asleep by 8-9:00 at night - yuck!!
  9. I have a pre-op physical in about an hour, and I was just wondering, what does that consist of?
  10. I've been worrying about that too. Mine has always been heavy, and never ending. I'm going on week 4 now, and am hoping and praying that I'll be done by the 29th when my surgery is. Does anyone know if by having this surgery and losing weight if your monthly gets more regular? I'm soooo hoping it will, I'm sick of this having it forever...
  11. I am being banded on the 29th, and am planning on going back on that following Monday. I'm hoping that it's not too soon, but I don't have a lot of vacation time to use, but I am only a receptionist so it isn't tooo strenuous of a job.
  12. Hi girls! I'm from Superior, WI, and am having my surgery on April 29th, in Duluth, MN. Nice to "meet" some other people from WI!
  13. I'm currently on the liquid diet, and while it isn't easy. It is bearable. You just need to find what works for you. For me right now, having 5 carnation instant Breakfast shakes a day makes me want to :rolleyes2:, so now I only have it three times a day but twice I have a larger shake. I also discovered that having Swanson Low sodium broth made me extremely nauseous, so now I've been buying the "Cup a Soup" and straining it, and that I do sooo much better with. I have had some times where I've really wanted that slice of pizza, or quiche, or something like that, but I just remind myself that if I do, it might mess up being able to have the surgery when I'm scheduled to, and to me, it's just not worth messing it up. I also, found this quote that I've been putting up everywhere as motivation, it's: "If you think you can, you will. If you think you can't, you're right." Hope that helps, and good luck!
  14. Mine was a 3 week liquid diet. Just SF Carnation Instant Breakfast (5 x a day), SF popsicles, SF jello, and broth. I know that he said the way that he figures it, is depending on that person's BMI.
  15. I'm supposed to be drinking No Sugar Added Carnation Instant Breakfast with 2% milk, and, I bought the kind that was already premade for my lunch at work, and I was wondering, I don't know if it uses 2% milk or what, but do you think that since it's only 1 meal a day that it shouldn't matter too much if it is 1% or skim?? :rolleyes2:
  16. I was just wondering if since you can have SF popsicles can you have like sf sherbert or something? or SF fudgsicles? Just curious to find out. Thanks!
  17. I can do the chicken or beef broth, I was kinda surprised that you can't just do the "Soup at Hand" and get like Chicken & Stars, because there really isn't anything there.
  18. I've thought about it over and over, but you know what keeps me going, is when I think about everything that I can't do. I think of how my life is now, and how I'm unhappy. I think of how I feel when I feel uncomfortable going out with friends because I feel like I'm not "good enough" to be with them because I'm so big and they're so skinny. And than, I think of how I felt when I finally went to Disney World last year (a dream come true), only to have that dream crushed because I was too scared to go on any of the rides because I worried about the seat belt not fitting. That's no way to live, so I need this tool. I need it to help me get my life back.
  19. Could somebody please add me to the list? It keeps telling me that my message is too short My surgery date is on April 29th
  20. My name is Vanessa and I'm from Wisconsin. I'm a receiptionist for two insurance companies. Single, w/no children, just 3 furkids and 1 feathered friend
  21. I'm sorry, I should have specified, I'm on the Carnation Instant Breakfast No Sugar Added and than I have to mix in whey protein.
  22. I'm not saying that I'm having problems with this menu plan, cripes, this is my first day on it, I can't have too many problems yet. I was just wondering if there was any way that people messed around with it to make it not seem like the "same old, same old" thing. I actually can't have anything that's on your diet. Mine is a min. of 5 Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes a day, and than I can have SF Jello, SF popsicles, and broth. That's it.
  23. I sooo know what you mean, by the time I have my surgery on the 29th, I'll have been going at this process for over a year. I can't get over how slow this process is!
  24. Dang, you guys are really lucky! My pre-op diet consists of 5 SF carnation instant breakfasts shakes, and than I can have chicken or beef broth, SF jello, or SF popsicles.
  25. I was just wondering if anyone had a sample menu of what they had each day in order to mix it up. The idea of having a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch & broth, and a shake & broth for dinner is kinda saying "boring....." to me, how did you guys mix it up? :frown:
