Anyone regretting this?
I am 7 weeks out yesterday. Today I saw the PA at my surgeon's office for my 2 month visit. Having lost 40 lbs, I'm now seeing some changes, but they're subtle. Most people say I look rested or good because I changed my hair. Even though I still have some occasional nausea, I'm able to get my protein and fluids in. I have more energy than before the surgery, too! I have not told many people about my RNY, I just tell them I had hernia surgery which is the (partial!) truth. My surgeon repaired a hiatal and ventral hernia along with my bypass. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Y'all! I'm hungry!
I'm at 7 weeks and have rarely been hungry but, man!, am I interested in food right now! All the time! I spend a fair amount of time surfing "food porn" on Pinterest and planning what I want to make. I measure everything before I eat, tho, so I don't make myself sick. I've been a baking fiend this past week. Hubs and I can't eat it all so we take it to neighbors. We're pretty popular in the hood right now! Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Suture reaction? Infected incisions... Pics
Chavon & Nifty, Please, please, please see a doctor. What you are showing in the pictures is not inconsequential! I agree with Rita and am a nurse (ICU) also. You do not want to risk post-operative sepsis. Gut sepsis is the worst! You do not have the resources in your bodies to handle this without help. Please post back to let us know how you're doing. Please also feel free to PM me if you wish. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Skin breakouts
I'm 63 and nearly 6 weeks out from RNY. It's been a bit of a rough go for me with constant nausea, but I'm finally starting to get over that. Now, it seems my skin thinks it's 13 and I'm getting breakouts all over my face! [emoji36] I keep my skin clean and use a clay mask weekly. I'm also using a hydroxy acid on it nightly. Anyone having this issue? What are you doing to cope? BTW- I'm down 30 lbs! [emoji5] Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Has Anyone Kept Their Surgery A Secret?
I have told my husband (my main & wonderful support), one neighbor and two friends. I felt I needed to tell my neighbor because I needed her to drive me to and pick me up from the hospital. I told another neighbor with whom we're both friends that I had hernia surgery (true!) because she is the town crier. I'm an extremely private person and don't want to debate or discuss my choices with anyone. I figure I can make a decision about telling the "whole truth and nothing but the truth" at a later time. I've even told my family it was hernia surgery. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

3 Months - Hair Loss :(
My hair started thining a few years ago, but since the surgery (5/16) it seems to have stopped. I'm taking Biotin, Folate, and B-12 in addition to my MVI w/ calcium. I bought a Nioxin kit before surgery but haven't started using it. (My hairdresser recommended it after a very traumatic illness and surgery 10 years ago that resulted in hair loss.) My question is - does anyone have a recommendation for when I can get my hair colored? I stopped coloring in November and have been letting the grey grow out. I think it's a pretty color and now want the rest of my hair grey. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Extremely Sad
I'm so sorry! It's very hard for a girl to lose her daddy. My dad died unexpectedly at age 56 when I was 34 years old. Even now, 30 years later, I still miss him! Just know he will always be there watching out for you! Blessings on you. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Things I'll Need After Surgery (besides food)
I'm using an app called Baritastic. You can put in reminders to take meds, vitamins, food, liquid, exercise, etc. Then you can log them all. There's also a journal. I really like it! Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone regretting this?
Isn't it nice to sleep on your side?! I spent my first few nights in a recliner chair because I didn't think I could get in or out of my bed. My husband has been AMAZING through all this! I'm now able to get in and out of bed by myself. I didn't go out of the house till my one week post op visit. Even then, we just went there and came back. I have been reading a lot and watching Netflix. Of course there's naps on the lovely couch! Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Thanks! I'm just really wanting this to pass. I haven't vomited up any food, but I have had some dry heaves. I still have some Zofran, but it makes me sleepy. I only take it before bed. Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app

Anyone regretting this?
I am doing the work - getting my fluids and protein in, walking, doing more every day. My surgeon said the same things about the two different surgeries. I finally agreed to the RNY because I didn't want to have a second surgery. Thanks for the virtual attitude adjustment! I needed that! Sent from my SM-N915V using BariatricPal mobile app
