Can everyone PLEASE post
hey y'all! I just realized I posted in wrong forum earlier. Sorry, didn't mean to be a butt-inski. It's only been a short time yet. Don't worry so much it sounds like you're pretty much on track. Good luck to all of you.

Can everyone PLEASE post
I was banded 1/25/06 and lost about 70 lbs the 1st year, then 30 the next, 5 this year. Am at goal & doing great!

Cant keep food in!! after fill 3 mos. ago!!
Sounds like you have some swelling and irritation. Could possibly be a slip. Go to liquids only & call you doc in the morning. If you can't keep any liquid down at all go to the ER as you can dehydrate.

Average age of a Bandster?
I chose fifties but was actually banded a few days before turned 50. Was my big 5-0 present to myself. Best present ever!

What do you all do?
I'm a tech for AT&T, been there 30 years now. Started when I was an infant of course.

Banded 3/27
I would suggest more protein. And yogurt is fine but you may want to watch the sugars, just sweeten with the fruits you are already using. You can also try things that are normally lumpy, like cottage cheese, if you put in a blender a bit. And jello is OK too.

soar around the port area
I agree, my port area was the last to heal. Every time I moved or coughed it pull on the stitches I think. So unless it looks infected it's normal to be sore for a few weeks. Mine took about 6-7 weeks before I didn't really feel it anymore.

Lumps and Bumps...Am I normal?!?
yes please have doctor check. But don't worry too much, I thought I had lumps too till my husband pointed out to me that the lumps were identical on both sides and they turned out to be bones which I hadn't felt in decades.

need your openion
best thing is to read around a bit and ask questions. Remember most people post more when they have problems than when all is going well so keep that in mind when hear about troubles or concerns. There are many more "happies" than regrets since I've been banded.

Advice regarding "Omentum Separation"
I say do more research, sounds very interesting to me. I think it would probably decrease rather than increase stress hormone levels. Ask more questions & let us know!

Common Problem Foods
The only problem foods I have run across (for me, everyone's different) is flour tortillas (corn is fine), white bread and baked chicken. And fizzy sodas.

help me
Wow, sounds uncomfortable to say the least. Only been a couple days since surgery, probably just real sore, real inflamed, real swollen all inside where the band is. Call your doctor!

Excited, anxious, scared.......normal??
Welcome & congratulations. You are SO normal! And that's great because you don't want to have any surgery just on a whim. It's good to be a little anxious. But it is well worth it. Let me say it again "This is the best thing I ever did for myself & I LOVE MY BAND!". I was back to work (desk job) in 5 days and I was 50 at the time. You youngsters heal faster. Never had a bit of trouble other than I had a rash from the tape he used over the incisions, no spitups, nothing. Can't hardly even see the scars a year later.
