  1. Hello John, Did I read right? Your surgery has been delayed by 2 weeks? I'm on the home run, surgery on Tuesday,11th July. As I'm diabetic I'm the 1st patient on the day,I resent the 7am show up, but then its better this way isn't it? I won't be stressing the whole day waiting for my time I've been given. Good luck with the diet they've given you as you have another 2 week wait. Incidentally, what are you consuming on your diet ?
  2. My pharmacist and GP didn't give me correct dosages for liquid Rivotril/clonezepam. It's administered in drops I thought I was supposed to take 1 drop. Infact it was 25 drops. I became very depressed and anxious over the four days I took 1 drop ! When I 1st phoned the pharmacist yesterday to verify the dosage,he 1st told me incorrectly that I should be taking 11 drops, then he changed the advise to 25 drops. It was also confusing because the literature that came with the medicine was in Spanish.
  3. Juni I'm scared and expecting the depression that I'm going to feel. It's a huge step having the surgery and the experience of being post op the 1st 2 weeks. I'll be messaging you definitely, you'll have to give me tips on coping mechanisms. I'm having Bariatric bypass 11th July. Gita xx
  4. The past 2 nights have been hell considering I'm meant to be on a pre/op diet. I've cheated the past 2 nights. I'm fine during the day but it's after taking the Seroquel that I get ravenous and I just have to eat.
  5. Oops I meant to say that Seroquel is not meant be prescribed for diabetics but I've been on it for 13years.
  6. Sorry about garbled message above, I was sleepy after taking my bipolar drugs in the evening.
  7. I'm planning on coming off it after surgery, your metabolism is going to change luckily after surgery,so that's one box ticked ! Thank you very much for posting a message. Seroquel is a toxic and a demon. It's a drug that diabetics but my psychiatrists have been prescribing it for me for 13 years,I'm diabetic
  8. The hunger at night is very persistent. Daytime I'm fine. It's just after I've taken the Seroquel.
  9. I started my pre op diet yesterday and it is a rude awakening, even though you think you're prepared! This is the precipice, after this it will get easier;we won't have to listen to our greedy tummies for a start. [emoji2]
  10. Since deciding to have this surgery,July 11th,I have read and watched on YouTube a lot of people saying they're 20-30lbs from their goal weight. I have a goal weight too,I'll have to wait and see what happens. But a part of me is now questioning this desire to achieve goal weight and whether not to just to accept the weight lost already and be happy with the way we look, bloody good I'm sure and love your body. I remember when I used to weigh 140lbs and being unhappy with myself,I look back now and think 'you lucky thing why didn't you just accept and be happy with your body?' I know this doesn't answer your question, but this is just a thought. You don't seem to be consuming many calories either. Good Luck and I hope you get to where you want to be x
  11. Hi John, Thanks for the advise,it is good to have a surgery buddy [emoji4] I'm not on a liquid diet either. I have three Activia yoghurts a day and a chilled pot of soup a day divided into 3 meals. X
  12. Only the 1st day of pre op diet and I'm so nervous about the future oh my goodness wasn't prepared for this. It's a tricky road ahead.
  13. I think the pre op diet is sensible as it puts us in mind mentally for the next stage of our journey. From the beginning when we decide to have gastric surgery, through to surgeon, dietician, nurse, consults every stage is part of our journey to prepare us for our new life. But hey after you have the surgery you're going to be in the new mode and will make adjustments as that is the only way to be. We all have different journeys but the outcome is the same. Good Luck for your op
  14. Aaahh ....he liked the fish and chips, but did he like vinegar ?
  15. Berry78,just wanted to share that tonight is my 'last supper',I was going to have some company over and cook a scrummy meal. She cancelled last minute ;(. can't be bothered to cook for myself. So I'm going to go to the local chippie,do feel guilty though, incase you didn't understand,im going to go to the local 'British' fish and chip shop.I like their big fat chips with lashings of vinegar...drool
  16. Hello ! [emoji1430] Just reading this post I created, pleasantly surprised to read something from you, just today you gave me great feedback on another topic regarding taking a holiday just 5 weeks after surgery;you have concerns. ..you gave me advise on food too. How's your journey so far ? X
  17. Wow Berry78,thanks for your great useful, comprehensive message. Oh dear I didn't appreciate that I won't be fine for my holiday,I thought post op 5 weeks I'd be fine. I knew I'd be on purées but I'm not overly concerned as I'll be in Italy and there'll be plenty of minestrone soup,it will have to be puréed for me. You have got me concerned about the nature of my holiday,I'll be visiting lots of places on the Amalfi coast, maybe I'll just stay on the coach! I don't want to change to sleeve as I'm specifically going for the bypass;best surgery for diabetics, which I am.
  18. I'm in the U.K. Surgery on 11th July Start my pre op diet tomorrow. Don't have to do 14 days, only 10 as BMI is 32 I'm nervous and hope I can stick to the pre op diet.
  19. 1.Had to battle quite hard to get surgery approved by psychiatrist and surgeon because I'm bipolar, they were concerned about malabsorption of the meds and generally about my moods. Now that I've got a date I don't feel excited at all about the surgery, have other people had similar experiences? 2. I've planned a holiday abroad for the 21st August, will I be able to cope so soon after my surgery ..11th July?
  20. Thank you You've made my day Jess!!!!!!!! I've been on the internet all this week trying to get info. I've been getting more and more disheartened about Bypass being unhelpful due to Seroquel.
  21. I'm bipolar and take Seroquel for it,I'm scared that the hunger created by taking Seroquel will still be there after surgery. I'm scared I'm going to continue to overeat and damage my pouch. Has anyone on here managed to continue taking Seroquel after gastric bypass and still lose weight ? I'm very, very worried that Seroquel is going to have a negative effect on my bypass. I've tried searching for info on the internet with no success.
  22. Congratulations [emoji898][emoji322] what height are you ?
  23. How come your med dosages have been reduced? Excellent news by the way!
  24. I'm bipolar and I have a question for bipolar users... did your moods change post op ? My surgeon told me I would probably come off Rivotril post surgery. I think it's fantastic but can it be true ?
