    Ok i think i am finally there

    :cool2: I think i am finally there, I have 6.1 in my band and boy oh boy, now i know what they mean when they say they can't eat bread. Boy I have tried two times to eat a bagel, yes small small bites and chew chew chew, but still it didn't work. Like isaid i did this twice and i was just toturing myself, i love bagels. maybe after toture i will stop eating them. I am a very stubborn person. Well i went up like 1 1/2 but now as of this am i am back to 215.8 to be exact. When i look at myself as of this am i actually look to me like i have lost a few pounds. Maybe this is it. Maybe i am there. I have a hard time eating just about anything. But in a way thats good because the past couple of days i have really cut back. a fav right now is sunflower seeds great to snack on and so much work you don't eat very many. also the smart food lite chedder popcorn.. YUM i know that the idea isn't to constanly eat junk but lets all face it we need to have some little splerges. Oh and the bad splurge ice cream, i only allow myself about 1 cup. BUT YUM YUM YUM. Oh and i have lite icecream whenever possible. I'll post soon.

    Tuesday January 6th 2009

    Well i go to the doctor today. Another fill i would imagine. I am not loosing like i should(at least that is what i think) My weight this am on my scale (yeah totally naked and before i've eaten anything is 215.8) I am curious to see what their scale says. I have been really REALLY good. I have been tracking everything! i eat on my daily plate. I get 1174 calories a day and i have been going to the gym in the am after i drop katie off for her second bus. I do the treadmill for 20 min then the stair walker machine for another 10 min. Oh according to my daily plate if i do that i get about another 150 calories for the day. Sometimes i use it most of the time i do not. I think that this time i am going to make it. I think my head is in the right place now. Before it really was not. HOWEVER i do need more fills because it is my willpower keeping me going not at all my satisfied feeling in my tummy. So once i get that i really should be doing good. I have set a mini goal, i want to lose 15 lbs by the time i go to CA on Feb 14th. Then Sal and i are going into NYC on March 13 14?? I would like to be down another 10 by then so lets see. First goal i should be 200 and second goal i should be 190 ONEDERLAND as everyone would say. I post tomorrow to record my band fill. :confused:

    Well i go to the doctor today. Another fill i would imagine.     Well this am's weight was 218, that was after having friendlys last night. Reeces pieces 3 scoope sundee. YUM, however I should not be doing that too often. Its so hard. I really can not eat bagels anymore. THey hurt to much. I shouldn't be eating them anyway. I was eating whole wheat but still not good choice. THis am i had a light english muffen with pepper jack cheese and once thin slice of turkey. I think i should follow weight watchers that would probably help me. All i know is i had this surgery and i don't seem to be loosing like i think i should. HELP. I wonder if i streched my pouch???? I want to be thinner. Not a rail but Thinner. I definately eat much less why am i not loosing :thumbup:. :blushing:

    Mini goal by New Years Day?? Any takers??

    Oh I would like to be down 15, That would be 3 lbs a week, I think that is a realistic goal for me. It is something i know that i could do if i just put my mind to it. I have been trying to let my band do all of the work and i have not mentally participated. I think i need to step up to the plate. I just my third fill today I think i have 4 cc in a 10 cc band.     Tuesday November 25th Ok I think i had 2.6 cc and now i had another 1 and 1/2 put in. My weight on their scale is 223.2. no change at all from my last fill which was on October 30. My first fill was September17th. My weight on my scale at home is 219. well I spoke with the assistant and I really need to make some changes. I need to have protein for breakfast, I need to have 1000 calories and between 70-90 grams of protein a day. I need to do this and i should see better results next time. I hope so. Oh I booked another cruise, I did it without telling sal, but i did tell him when i got home that day, he was happy about it. It is on the new Oasis which isn't set to sail until November of 2009 our cruise is October of 09. I hope by then i will be comfortable in my skin and in a thiner healthier body:unsure:.

  11. I just have to say that reading everyones experience and advise has helped me. I am at a point where i keep going up and down the same 3lbs. I have had two fills but i think i am going to need more to get to the sweet spot. I think I am in what ive heard called bandster hell. My next fill is Nov 25th and i hope that does it for me.
  12. I was banded 7/31/08 and i had a lot of bruising. Everyone is different. My bruises were still very much there when i hit my one month bandiversary. Mine were completely gone at about 2 1/2 months.
  13. Other then the scares on my stomach I really can not tell that I have a band. I have had two fills. my first brought me to 2.6 cc and my second brough me to 3.6 cc in a 10cc band. I can eat anything i want. I can still eat a whole bagel. a whole slice of pizza, a bowl of pasta, a whole sandwich. I have never thrown up from eating to much, and I have never had slimming. I never had PB, I wonder could i just need more fills, or does anyone think that my pouch has streched? I though that this was finally going to be my answer and i would finally get this weight off, but now i am starting to worry that nothing will work for me. HELP. :rolleyes2:
  14. Thanks everyone! Skinnymike congratulations on your great weightloss. You must feel wonderful. The people i work with do not know that i was banded, and i always need an 8:00am apt so i can get to work by 9:00 and they never even knew that i went to the doctor. well that is my reason for my apt 2 days before thanksgiving. I have had a few people tell me to r/s and enjoy this last nice meal, however the way i figure it i have enjoyed far to many of these nice meals. Happy to have someone on my banding birthday keep in touch skinnymike.
  15. Thanks everybody, all of your input does help. And you are right, I was able to eat two even three slices of pizza, not just one. I guess I am eating less most of the time. My next fill is November25th(a couple of days before thanksgiving, convenient right!!) The funny thing is i have my whole family at my house and that is about 40 people and i cook. HA. Oh btw I had dr geiss also and i live in Selden.

    Well i am 3 months post op and i now weight 219 YUPPIE, yea terrible i know. I don't really know what to do. I guess i have not been trying to hard. I almost think that I am just ment to be fat forever. I guess i am in a bad way now. We went on our cruise that i was supposed to be thin for. We had a great time, fat and all. We are actually going to go to St. Thomas next year. Maybe Maybe Maybe I will be thinner by then. Yeah probably 5lbs. :angry_smile:

  19. I had the same gas pains. I know it hurts a lot but hang in there it get better. Since you are in a hotel and don't have access to a heating pad(that is what i used) maybe you could get a 2 liter bottle of soda, dump the soda of course and fill it with hot tap water. you could hold that on your chest and maybe that will help. I know i was walking lots of laps.. it does go away
  20. I just wanted to make a suggestion. I know that you said you stand all day, and walk across a campus but maybe you need to add to that and do some different exercise. They say that your body gets used to the same exercise after a while. Maybe you could fit an extra 1/2 of cardio in somewhere. Hang in there.

    Bruising arond incisions???

    I am a person that bruises very easy. MY bruises lasted for about one month and they were deep purple. I also had the bruising on every incision. Don't worry its normal and it will get better.

    2 weeks post op, do I have a band??

    Hi Midwestchickie, i have to say that i felt the same was just after i was banded. I had one fill and still feel like i need more. I too can eat anything bread,pasta, rice, you name it. And I do not eat as much as i did before the band, but its not because i feel full its because i am trying to keep track of excatly what i am putting in my mouth. I have posted some questions myself about this and from what everyone says this is normal. And like Kalipso2 said i think this is "bandster hell". The only way we can see that we had this done is by the scares. Good luck to you.
  23. Wow I love what Misty said, I think she is right. I am coming to the same conclusion.. I have 2.6 cc in a 10cc band. I only had restriction for the 1 1/2 weeks after surgery. I guess from being swollen. Now I do not seem to have any. My next fill is at the end of october. Boy i can't wait. For now I am trying real hard to watch everything i eat and i am trying to recognize that satisfied feeling in my tummy before it turns into that stuffed feeling.
  24. I had my band done July 31st. I have an appointment for my first fill today. The past couple of days i have been feeling very nauseous every time i eat something. I have been able to eat anything i want for a couple of weeks now. Nothing seems to be off limits to me. Is this a normal feeling? I don't feel stuffed after i eat so i don't think it is because i have eaten to much. Any comments would help. Thanks

    pre-surgery appetite has returned

    Wow I am having the same problem. I can eat anything. My problem is with the drinking while and after eating. I am having such a hard time with this. I was banded on July 31st. My fill apt is next week i hope that helps get me on track. Its nice to no that there are others that feel the same as i do.
