aww thats my birthday! Im scheduled for my sleeve on 9/1

I was told I didnt have a cap either which I need to double check on as well. I told them after reading I only wanted the shakes. Im gonna do more research because I have other meds I need as well.

Im hearing back from ppl that were approved that it may be too good to be true. They bill your prescription coverage some crazy amount, thousands of dollars. Most insurances have a cap on RX coverage, so ppl end up having to pay full price for their other prescriptions. Im kinda iffy on it now. I cancelled the supplements they offered. Im not sure if the shakes are the same and I should cancel those as well.

They just called me today and said I was approved. Just gotta have my surgeons office fax back the prescription.

After wat felt like forever I have finally been approved and set a surgery date of sept 1! I would love to have it sooner but I have to save up my out of pocket expense and pto hours to take atleast a week off from work for recovery. Sept seems far away but it'll be here before I kno it. 80 days. Let the countdown begin!

Yea they called me and offered other vitamins and the scar cream as well and asked if I wanted it if my insurance will cover it. I said yes if its covered. But they said I should hear back in a week or 2.

I see everybody on here get approved and given a surgery date. Are u able to choose ur date or do u have to take wat is given to u? I looked online last Thursday and saw I was approved. No phone call yet but I feel like if I'm given a date for June or even July I won't be ready.

I looked on my insurance company's website Thursday and saw that I am approved! What comes next? Do I get a call from them or my surgeons office? Do I pick my own date? Do I get a print out of surgery costs and wats covered and paid outta pocket? I kno everyone's experience is different but I'd like to hear a few of wat happened after u got ur approval. Thanks.

My surgeon specifically said do not gain weight or he will not perform my surgery. Losing or maintaining my initial weight with him is fine.

This is giving me hope that recovery will be easy. I just received my approval but no date set yet and I am soooo nervous. Ive never had surgery or a hospital stay before. People I kno that have had the surgery tell me I will be fine but Im still so nervous.

Thank u! I see GERD on here a lot. What is that? My doc recommended the sleeve but I've been told by ppl who have had the RNY that's a better choice. When I called my surgeons office they said it was pretty much up to me and wat I'm comfortable with. Idk I'm so torn lol. I just want to lose all the weight I need to.

You dont have to go into specifics about what kind of surgery you are having because most people really dont and wont understand it. But I would def let him know that you do have surgery coming up because June/July will be here sooner than later. And if need be you can explain to him that, that is the reason for why you have been taking off so much, I didnt want to tell my boss either and I didnt go into specifics but I did finally let him know bc I was taking off so much for appointments and he became suspicious like I was looking for another job or somethin lol which I didnt want him to think. Just tell him, it may not be as bad as u think and a weight will be lifted.

My surgeon's office submitted everything to humana 4/26 but it now has to be resubmitted because my Dr didnt submit the correct information and document my 4 month diet and exercise regime. So now I have to go and see her this weekend to make sure she submits everything correctly this time. Im so annoyed. I just want this process to be over..

Ok, thanks. I guess I'll wait and see when I have my surgery scheduled for and go from there. My cousin just had a baby too lol but she only lives 5mins away so maybe she can atleast come to the hospital and of course drive me home but we'll see. Thanks for the responses!

Thanks.. I wasnt asking how much the procedure is though. I kno that varies. I was asking when you were given the total amount of the surgery and what your out of pocket would be. Does the insurance company give you that information or does it come from the surgeon's office? Was it as soon as you were approved in the letter? Or shortly after? I was already given my out of pocket from my surgeon before even getting approved. I guess they are basing it off of others who may have had my same insurance idk. Im just asking so I can prepare myself and kind of give myself an idea of when I should schedule my surgery for.

Does your insurance company let you kno the total cost of the procedure and your total out of pocket cost of there is one? How does the whole process work once you are approved? Everything was submitted to Humana by my surgeons office on wed and it was received thurs so now I'm just waiting.

I called and spoke to someone else who said they received everything yesterday and she gave me an authorization number and said it normally takes about 5-7 days. Idk y I always get different answers when I call them. But I am happy with this one.
